Appel Heating & Air Conditioning

I had an abnormally high heating bill and felt like my heat was running almost constantly. I had only been in my house two winters so didn't know the norm. I wanted to rule out a furnace problem, so I called Appel. They were fantastic on the phone. Patient and informative. I had next day service. He arrived a few minutes early. He explained they type of heater I had to me and gave it a full inspection and cleaning. I was only charged the home service fee. About a week later, they called to see how it was going and if I was satisfied with my service. I would highly recommend this company.

Our furnace had been making clunking noises for the last couple of days and then stopped working. I called Appel around 11:15 a.m. and they were able to schedule a technician to come to my house between noon and 2:00. Randy arrived at 12:25 and finished around 1:45. He gave me an estimate before work was done, and then calculated the charges two different ways to give me the option of purchasing an annual maintenance plan.

They were very nice, courteous, and they answered all of my questions.

I didn't have any complaints. I think they were on time when they came out for my appointment. I have used them before in the past.

They are responsive and the maintenance agreement gives you priority. I have always been very pleased with them.

Happy with service except he did not have part to fix, fortunately I did. Replaced with my extra switch, only charged for service call.

Have used this company for years for seasonal maintenance to our furnace and a/c with great results and service. We had a room with a separate wall unit, supplied and maintained by another company, that was always trouble. Tired of the hassle, I called Appel, who tried everything to fix the existing unit, with very little cost to us. We finally decided to just buy a new unit, which Appel found and installed for us (they usually do not carry this type of product). They went so far out of their way to help us, and during the holidays, since we were without heat in that one room.

Apple does a wonderful job! I have an older furnace/AC and yet they have not pressured me to buy new and say to keep on using the unit until it no longer works! I always have a new filter for them to replace for me and when they came to do the fall maintenance, the gentleman told me it wasn't needed yet and just hold onto it until Spring! I appreciate their honesty! The people in the office are always professional and call me as a follow up to obtain my comments on the service call.

They were timely, punctual and reasonably priced. Also Mr. Appel comes out after the job is completed to make sure that I am satisfied.

I had been happy with them except for the last few particular times. The tech that came to do my routine maintenance said I had to get a new furnace. He made it sound like a big deal. I was a little suspicious because right after he left someone from Appel called to give pricing for a new furnace. I had a second opinion and they told me it was fine and what I had been told by this company's tech was not so.

Ken Appel was very thorough in his estimate which was true to the final price of the system. He came back after the work was completed for an inspection of the system. The technicians, Dwayne and Brent were also very thorough on a very cold November day. Ken also provided neighborhood references of people who had Appel systems put into their homes. These customers were very helpful and were pleased with their systems.

The technician was good at the work he completed and he made the boiler run better then it ever has.

They were very timely as far as their punctuality. Their prices were fair and honest. As Far as customer service was concerned they were top notch. They did their job well and I did not feel pressured to buy more than I needed.

There was some confusion as to our total price, due to a math error on the original hand written information. Had we seen our contract prior to date of installation, we would have been prepared for it. We had a new gas furnace, automated humidifier with outdoor weather station, touch screen thermostat and heat pump installed. They also closed off a couple of vents in our utility room and added duct work and a vent to our finished basement game room.

Excellent experience although we ended up using someone else to install our furnace. A plumber friend had used this company before & recommended them to us. We set up a time to have Nate come out to give us a quote on a new furnace. Since our furnace was still operating fine, but had a cracked heat exchanger, we had the luxury of time to get multiple quotes and do research. We were impressed with Nate doing a manual Manual J calculation at the home, answering our questions & letting us know about our various options. Since our AC was still working well he said we should not replace it. Over the next few weeks, Nate answered additional questions & sweetened the quote based on quotes from two other businesses. We were leaning towards giving Appel our business when a two-man HVAC business (recommended by a neighbor who has used them & recommended them via his insurance agency) presented an offer just too good to pass up. So, in the end we did not use Appel but we would not hesitate in calling them again.

They were able to schedule service at a time which was convenient for me. The service technician was prompt, professional and courteous. All job debris was cleaned up. Both units continue to run well. I've used Appel for several years and have always been happy with their service. Price is slightly higher than others' advertised prices, but sometimes I believe you get what you pay for.

Appel has been servicing our heat pump and furnace for many years. We purchase a service plan which is less expensive than paying for it each visit. They used to have a once a year service and this last year they raised the price and made it 2 times a year, which is comparable with other companies, but I'm not getting twice the service. Some things are checked and cleaned still just once a year. They have kept our heating and cooling running well without additional charges and repairs.

He is especially great and I'd highly recommend using this company.

They are prompt and their service is good. They get the work done and they charge a reasonable amount. I pay once a year for the service twice a year.

In the spring Appel sends a serviceman out to check our air conditioning unit. In the fall he comes back and checks our furnace. So far it has always been the same serviceman. He is courteous, checks everything thoroughly and lets us know if anything needs attention on either unit.

I had purchased a platinum service contract from them, which is supposed to help me be put ahead for service before any of their customers with a basic contract. So when I called, they told me that anybody with a warranty came before me, which they had not specified when I purchased the platinum contract. Otherwise, I have never had any complaints about them servicing my furnace or air conditioner. They usually show up on time and are very professional. They are also very honest about what needs to be done, if any extra services need to be performed.

I thought their price was really fair. They do good work. They are easy to get a hold of. They did the job they said they were going to do. They were very nice and friendly. They are also really good about making sure to not make a big mess and to also clean up really well after themselves.
