Description of Work: The owner came out for the initial call and determined the circuit board was not working properly. The furnace brand is an off brand, not installed by Temperature Control Specialists. | |He called a supplier and ordered the part. He told me it was still covered by the manufacturer's warranty and charged the manufacturer's $50 handling fee for the part and their basic service call fee of $210. They included the initial $75 diagnostic fee in the $210. | |They had a preprinted list of their prices on their form. | |Both the owner, Jeff, and the technician who did the repair, Sean, we're very professional. | |I will keep their info for future jobs and I will recommend them to family and friends.

Description of Work: When I woke up on January 7, the outside temperature was 14 below, and the temperature inside our home was 44. I left a message with Temperature Control Specialties, and Jeff Malone, the owner immediately returned the call. He said that he could have someone here some time after noon. I expressed that I was a little panicky since the temperature was so low, and he suggested another contractor that I might call to see if they could get here sooner. (I did not call anyone else.) Jeff called us again at noon to check the situation, and said that he had a technician who would be here when he finished the job he was currently doing. Shaun arrived at 1:30. He was thoroughly professional and efficient. At one point he thought the problem might be the circuit board and changed it out. That did not solve the problem, and he put the old one back in because the circuit board replacement would have been a very expensive repair. In the end, he had to replace all four sequencing switches. He left at 5:30, and the charge was $295.00. We were totally satisfied with all aspects of this experience. Our only complaint is that we did not get the "senior discount." We forgot to ask for it, and they did not offer it.

+ -1 moreJeff Malone, the owner, was great to work with. He arrived on time, inspected the old furnace, and looked at the size of our house. He explained our options and answered our questions. We scheduled the installation the following week. The price was terrific, and the service was superb! After the furnace was installed, Jeff called to ask how everything was working and if we had questions. We received three other quotes, but we liked this company, appreciated the price, and wanted to do business with Jeff.
Description of Work: They removed our existing 22-year-old gas furnace and installed a TRANE 92% variable speed gas furnace. They also installed a new Honeywell 8000 Thermostat and Honeywell By-Pass Humidifier.

+ -1 moreTHEY WAITED UNTIL THE UNIT WAS INSTALLED BEFORE TELLING ME THAT IT WAS THE WRONG SIZE OF THE OUTSIDE UNIT. THEY TOLD ME THAT IF I WANTED THEM TO, THEY COULD REINSTALL WITH THE CORRECT SIZE UNIT. THEY SAID THAT THEY KNEW IT WAS THE WRONG SIZE FROM THE TIME THEY TOOK IT OFF THE TRUCK. THEY DO NOT RETURN PHONE CALLS AND AFTER 10 DAYS AND 4 PHONE CALLS, THERE HAS BEEN NO RESPONSE. I HAVE TO USE THEM BECAUSE MY WARRANTY WILL BE VOIDED IF I DON'T USE THEM ACCORDING TO THE COMPANY WHERE I PURCHASED THE FURNACE.
