Dentistry - General
Been going here for about 7-8 years. Everything started out fine, the staff is friendly, no long waits or billing issues, and the hygienists were thorough and gentle during cleanings. A couple years in, I'm informed out of the blue that I have 16 cavities. He shows me some dark spots on the x-rays, and me not knowing any better, trusted him at his word. A couple grand and 2 procedures later, I have a brand new set of fillings. Over the following years, I have a number of issues with them. One fell out and needed redone, a few others chipped and caused a gap that caught food. A few months ago, I'm informed that 4 of the fillings have 'worn out' and need replaced with 3 crowns since they were too big to be enlarged any further and one larger filling at a cost of $4k+. At this point, I'm starting to become skeptical and looked up other reviews on here. A number of people talking about similar situations caused me to go for a second opinion. When I get to my appointment for the second opinion, I find out that he's not in-network for my insurance, but decide to pay the full rate anyway to get my answer. He does an inspection and takes x-rays. He informs me that I do in fact have 4 cavities around the old fillings. 3 around fillings that Millikan said needed crowns, and the other on a tooth Millikan never mentioned. However, none of them need crowns since my fillings were 'so very small.' Since the new dentist wasn't in-network, I decided to get the work done somewhere else. My third opinion at this point does another inspection, gets the x-rays from the second opinion, and tells me the exact same thing that the second opinion said. I get the work done for a grand total of $95. If you're keeping count, that's 1 tooth that had issues that wasn't caught by Millikan, 1 tooth that had nothing wrong that he suggested crowns for, and 2 teeth that only needed the fillings enlarged a bit that he suggested crowns for. Please stay away from this guy, he's a crook that's just digging for more cash.
