They were very good.

On December 21, 2014 my husband and I went to the Godby Discount Location at 130 W Logan in Noblesville.  We were looking for a recliner and after shopping 6 different stores in Castleton, Noblesville and Carmel we liked the one we had seen at the Godby Discount location.  They had sold the one, but we were able to buy another one.  While there we saw the mattresses and since ours was 9 years old we started to try them out. We should have shopped around and done more research.  We purchased a california king drop in for our existing frame.   It was delivered on January 10th.  My husband thought he had stepped wrong when entering a bus on Jan 14th.  His hip had quite a bit of pain.  He could hardly walk and had to take some time off work.  We figured out and received confirmation from medical opinion, that it was because of the mattress not giving him the support that the old mattress had.  He had no problem after switching to the couch to sleep until the Indiana Mattress arrived. Do not make the same mistake we did shop around and try several brands and types.  The Godby mattress we bought was not the same depth and quality that we had.  I talked to Jeff Godby and he said that we could not return the mattress. I don't remember seeing a sign that mattresses could not be returned. I have bought from Godby's several times over the years, not any more! Mr Godby did not want to hear my story at all, he kept saying I could not return and that california king was custom.   No california king is not a custom size it is just a size that is not stored in a store warehouse.  We were told by the other stores that it is an option just like twin, queen, and king. After talking to Mr Godby, I went to 5 other stores and found 3 of them that did in fact have a return policy on mattresses.  I would not recommend purchasing a mattress from any Godby location!  I ended up purchasing our mattress from Indiana Mattress.  An expensive lesson learned!  Don't make the same mistake, SHOP AROUND, like I did for the simple recliner purchase.

All was delivered.  We had the dining table delivered first and then the leather and a table and another table/console.  Then in early March the chair and ottoman and sectional was delivered.  All was fine until Cindy called from Godby saying that I still owed for the dining table that had been delivered in October.  I had a receipt that in handwriting said "Paid in full".  Why would they deliver something in October and then in April be asking for money.  I paid for it and now they are calling me multiple times asking for over $1600.  This is unacceptable.  I have never bought furniture and had it delivered unless it is paid for, let alone wait until 5 months later and ask for the money.  I will never deal with them agaIN. 

The guys that delivered it weren't personable but they were not unkind or grumpy. They came in, did their thing, and left. They moved a sofa for me that they really didn't have to do so they went beyond. They set up the bedroom suit and went on.

What I specifically liked is that the fact that I had one lady that I worked with. When I go in there, I tell her what we are looking for, and she knows. She will help us pick it out. She has come to the house with pictures and gave us ideas. She is just very willing to go the extra mile for you. I started with a floor plan. I showed them my floor plan and told them that I wanted to fill it. I asked if they could give me ideas on what to do. The first person I talked too said that we needed to buy the furniture first before they could move it around where it needed to be, but this lady was willing to say okay and took a look at the floor plan. She worked with us. She has always been very helpful on recommending what to do. She just goes above and beyond. She is a pleasure to work with. The quality is very good.

I can tell you that their prices were competitive. The delivery was on time. We had one complaint. The guys that were delivering the furniture tracked in some mud on our office carpeting. When it was pointed out, what they did, they agreed to have a carpet cleaner come out and clean our carpets. We were able to get it up ourself. It was not that bad but it made us feel good that they were willing to fix a problem on our brand new carpeting. We did have a problem with one of our barstools. The fabric was starting to nag and run. The salesmen who we got the furniture from, sight unseen ordered a new bar stool. They drove out to our house and delivered it as well as taking the other one back.

Sue is a great asset to Godby's! She is a great sales representative! She has alot of knowledge about the lines and products they sell, has a good eye for color and design and makes great suggestions. She is more of advisor/consultant than salesperson. I have purchased twice from her and will be returning to make future purchases from her. I wont deal with anyone else there but her.

The sales people were very helpful and pleasant to work with. However, several costly items had to be repaired and several had to be returned because they were not repairable. Due to the quality problems I was having with the furniture, I gave up and canceled undelivered items that they did not have the color I wanted in stock and were back ordered. At the time I was not told that any items ordered were "Special Order", even though they had one of another color on the floor and that I would be charged 25% of the cost if I did not take the items. Even after buying over $8000 worth of furniture and accepting damaged items they refused to credit me for the full amount of the canceled items. Now I feel really ripped off by them.

Sue Koeing is great, very friendly, personal, and knows what she is doing. I have purchased with her before, and she is just great. We got our new furniture, and it went flawless. The delivery folks were very nice. We did our fair share of shopping around, but Godby was the most competitive by far. Even Value City Furniture could not beat their cost. Overall, delivery is extra but worth it if you do not have time or help to pick it up yourself.

Jared was an excellent salesman. He listened to our needs and preferences and directed us to furniture that exactly fit those specifications. No high pressure or attempts to direct us to something more expensive. We are very satisfied with the merchandise and especially with Jared.

I APPRECIATED THE HELP THEY GAVE ME AS FAR AS DECORATING ADVICE AND THE WILLINGNESS TO LET ME MAKE THE DECISION--NOT A LOT OF HIGH PRESSURE. WE WENT THROUGH A LOT OF SAMPLES. WE APPRECIATED THEIR PATIENCE. IT WAS JUST A GOOD EXPERIENCE OVERALL. THE SELECTION WAS LARGE.

SALESPERSON VERY PROFESSIONAL AND KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT HER PRODUCTS. WHEN I CALLED TO CHECK ON PROMISED DELIVERY, THEY WERE VERY HELPFUL AND PLEASANT. DELIVERY WAS MADE SHORTLY THEREAFTER. DELIVERY PEOPLE WERE VERY COURTEOUS, ETC... WE LOVE OUR RECLINER. WE WILL GO TO GODBY FIRST WHEN WE ARE IN THE MARKET FOR FURNITURE.

SALESPEOPLE VERY NICE, BUT NOT PUSHY. ENDED UP WITH VERY NICE QUALITY FURNITURE.
