They were extremely flexible as I changed the night before. As far as personality, they were all pleasant, professional, and trustworthy. It took about 5 hours total to move, Thanks to Big Shoulders Moving and Storage.

The movers who picked up my belongings were pretty good. Fortunately I speak Spanish so I was able to communicate well with them. After that everything went downhill. Terrible delivery. They were rude, late, demanding payment immediately and dropped and broke a few things. The customer service is even worse. If I could give less than 0 for a review I would. Do not hire this company.

We used Big Shoulders Moving and Storage (may also go by SkywayMovers Limited LLC) to move a family of 4 from a 4 bedroom household in Racine, Wisconsin to Chesterfield, Virginia in June/July 2022. Our items were picked up on 6/24/2022 and arrived on 7/3/2022. Our OrderNumber was 2-6786594. Prior to the move, in working with Danny and their Sales department, we put together an inventory list of anything that would not fit in a box, and they estimated the number of boxes based on the size of our home. The estimate was $5,100. We paid a $515deposit in advance based on that estimate. We were consistently told before the move, and even afterwards, that the estimate is usually within5-10% of the quoted price, and that it was unusual that we paid so much more. While the final inventory list of what was picked up is hand written and hard to decipher, no staff member has been able to point to discrepancies between what was picked up and what we told them we had in advance. We moved with approximately the same possessions, minus quite a few we sold to reduce cost before this move, in July 2021for $4300. Our final cost for this move was $8,900 (75% more than quoted). While several picture frames were broken, along with a dresser, and trashcan full of cleaning supplies never arrived (was found by dispatch and never sent to us), the true issue is the misleading information we got about cost. We were not told the final amount until our items were on the truck, a day before we would be driving 15 hours to our new location. Yes, they had us sign forms before packing the truck indicating the maximum possible cost, but with our timeline of moving, indicating the maximum possible cost, but with our timeline of moving, we had no options to adjust and still expected the cost to be close to the estimate. They have made no effort to resolve in good faith, offering only$75 for damaged items through their claims contract website. Ben, a dispatch manager, assured us that navigating the claims would lead to more discussion about reimbursement.

The movers were friendly, efficient, and were done before I knew it. They did everything they could to make my life easier. I would use them again.

I would not hire them to move a spoon across the table, much less anything else. Bait and switch estimate. Horrid service, Lied about not subcontracting the work. Off-loading crew chief was nasty. He broke a neighbors tree with the truck accidentally. No apology; instead he tried to justify it. I will be filing a complaint with the Illinois Attorney General. TAKE BIG SHOULDERS OFF YOUR LIST.

Disaster from start to finish. Tried to charge me extra and pick-up, tried again at drop-off. While trying to charge me additional $200, offered my $50 off if I changed my review from 1 to 5 stars. Lost my sound bar, no response to questions it. Several boxes/items damaged. Weeks late on delivery. Spare yourself, go someplace else.

We were not disappointed! They arrived on time and worked hard until the job was done. They efficiently and carefully packed our items. I recommend them without hesitation and would work with them again in a heartbeat!

I had to spend $ for the flight and hotel, and they never showed up. This happened two times. And my TV was damaged, luckily nothing serious . Horrible experience

I booked them by asking for quotes from the home advisor. Reviews were mixed but I still went ahead with them and forgot to check google reviews (I wish I did earlier) To start, they were responsive to follow-up to have booking done. I gave them the exact count of boxes and exact furniture, bed, etc. that I was gonna move. When I did not book for two days as I was waiting for other quotes, they offered me 240$ discount (Full service). I went ahead and booked them but the real surprise came when pickup guys came. First, they said it is not convenient for them to pick up and take to the truck as there is no direct connectivity so I have to pay 250 $ extra. ( I was living in an apartment) Secondly, they said after reviewing my items it will take extra space in the truck. I said I gave the exact count of items I am moving how can you say that. He estimated random and asked for 860$ extra. I did not have any choice but to go ahead as my flight was the next day as was moving to a different state. Having been in the same state I would have canceled it. * So I had to pay extra 1110 dollars on the spot * Since it was a revised amount he asked me to pay 75% instead of 60% which they said before * If I pay by credit card they will charge me 5% extra * On delivery also they only accept cash or zille payment. * If a big truck 18 wheeler comes to deliver and there is no space at my new home then I have to pay any amount between 300 to 1500 dollars (Since they need to move all items from the big to the small truck for delivery) So you can imagine on the spot I was just robbed by them and had to pay the full amount in cash which I was planning to put some on CC to pay in a few months by planning it. At delivery smaller truck came that was only luck so I had to pay the exact amount that they noted on the pickup day. I still gave tips to pick up and delivery guys as they still did good work. But this extra robbery by them did not come out well. So I would not advise anyone booking them first to check * If you live in an apartment check which floor and how much distance to gate, if there is any extra charge for this * If you gave them the exact count, they will still charge you extra so be prepared for this. * Better not to hire them for long-distance and only go for the same state as I found delivery was done in good time So my greed to have discount I end up paying more :(. So please go with some other moved Overall I will not recommend them for a long-distance move.

Frustrating experience with constant extra charges that ended up being way pricier than other options I considered for my cross country move. They are difficult to get ahold of and everything throughout the process felt disorganized and borderline like a scam. When things got delivered, every single box had been crushed and was re-taped to hold them together even though I had bought them all brand new. Movers ignored fragile signs on boxes and brought clearly labeled fragile boxes upstairs on a dolly. Because it was a relatively small move my stuff was transferred between trucks and storage locations and this half my bed frame was lost the frustrations have only continued with trying to get ahold of anyone for an update on their claims process. Would not recommend this service.

I booked my cross-country move with MovingAPT and the sales guy was great, You are covered with us on insuring your things, we use the best movers....And then QA and scheduling and pickup started. QA was rude and difficult, managers were unwilling to help. They used Big Shoulders Moving and Storage to move my things which was the worst thing to ever happen. Not only did they take 15 hours to move a 4 bedroom house into a truck. But they took 16 days to get me my things across 1200 miles. My things were delivered with the industrial treadmill broken and unable to be fixed, L shaped executive desk destroyed, 2 book cases broken. When I filed to be made whole... I was offered $75 because they felt that was fair for almost $5000 of product. The only change that has been made is that the offer went up to $98 Please find and use anyone but this company when you search for a reputable mover.

They were absolute pros and took no breaks. No surprises at the end. I will recommend them. Punctual, efficient, upfront, communicative, dedicated and careful!

They have good customer service on front end, but bad customer service (new team of contacts with distribution) on the back end. Was upfront that I was moving seniors and would pay so that the move made since for them (willing to pay extra) customer service was upfront about extra fees for guaranteed pickup and acted like there would be no problem with delivery next day as well as noted that delivery team could unpack wardrobes into closets for them. Upon arrival of items to new location (3 days later than agreed which led to additional hotel nights of stay), I was then told this could not happen. Also, during day of pickup, they have you sign additional agreements after your furniture has been loaded on the truck which makes it to late to protest because they basically have your stuff and know that you do not have options. This practice has to be illegal and I will be looking into it (with the state attorney). Do not use these movers

Such a stress free moving experience this morning! They were right on time for the move, extremely courteous and professional, and treated our items with care. We highly recommend them and would definitely use their services again!

Prompt response. The movers got right to work when they arrived. They wasted no time. Everything was unloaded swiftly. Polite and skillful. I would highly recommend them to everyone!

Hiring them was the best decision we made. They were extremely professional and very polite people. They were speedy, diligent, and professional in every way. We really appreciate your efforts.

I cannot say one good thing about this experience with Big Shoulders Moving. -They arrived a day late for the pick-up. -Once everything was loaded, the estimate jumped $1623. -They had to postpone the scheduled drop-off, arrived 6 days later! -Several boxes were badly smashed, some broken open with contents falling out. -Tall wardrobe box was smashed down to about 3 ft high, the hanging bar broken, everything laying in a pile in the bottom. -Later found parts of a shelving unit were missing. I really cannot recommend this outfit to anyone and would actually recommend getting someone else.

They were quick to connect and the quote to move was on point. During pick up the drivers were trying to shake us down for cash for ?extra items? ( which we did not have). After daily phone calls for 3 weeks we were able to get out stuff on the promised date. Some scratches and broken things (expected) but the haphazard boxes they packed were the worst. Many boxes were damaged and they gouged the stairs bringing up a piece. We have not yet filed a claim (I?m hopeful it will be resolved fairly). Overall it was OK. The delivery crew was very nice and professional.

Very satisfied with their moving family antiques from Madison to Austin. I was pleased with how well they wrapped fragile things, all packing done expeditiously, professionally. I would use them again and highly recommend them.

Please RECONSIDER! Not only did they quote me different than what was charged, but they broke a tv on the way out, lost all the bolts to my kids bunk bed, have very harassing comments to say about my body in what they thought I did not understand, slice the screen of my 65in the TV screen, ABSOLUTELY shatter a box marked FRAGILE, is just to say the least. Do not waste your time or money, they do not keep you informed and they break your stuff with no remorse. I wish I could give them less that what I gave them.

They showed up on schedule and did an incredible job of loading/unloading my stuff and they carried heavy furniture up 3 flights of stairs with no complaints. They were wonderful and I was surprised how they did it so efficiently!

This team helped us move a 2-bedroom apartment. They worked thoughtfully and in a timely manner, taking care of all items and delivering them safely to their new destination. They were professional and friendly and wore masks the entire time, despite the heat and difficult work. The company was quick to respond to questions, like requesting a quote and confirming the move date. I would use Big Shoulders company again and recommend them to anyone looking for a safe and quality move.

Awesome overall team. The guys did a great job. Professional, efficient, they spent extra time reassembling all of my furniture. zero damage to my things. Very pleased. Even better- their quote was a lot less than other companies I called for the exact same job.

These guys were so awesome throughout. The owner answered my emails instantly every time, and happily accommodated me by changing my move date with no issues. The guys who moved our stuff were punctual, ethical, careful of our stuff, and so hard working. I highly recommend them.
