Originally called Sears to diagnose the problem. Guy came out and told me to turn off the fridge to thaw out the tube/hose inside the freezer that had clogged. He was here for less than 10 minutes. After he left, I followed his instructions and the problem seemed to be okay for a few weeks. It started up again and I didn't feel like calling Sears again, so I called AAA. The man who came to the house said the tube/hose was clogged and he took the freezer apart, cleaned out the hose, put everything back together and the problem was solved. The freezer is in a tight place in the kitchen so he really had to work to get the door off, etc. Money well spent.

I accidentally put liquid dish soap in the dispenser. When I ran the dishwasher I created a very soapy mess. The technician arrived and took apart the dispenser, cleaned it out and even left me some of his magic potion in case there was any residual left. My dishwasher has worked perfectly ever since.

Our dishwasher broke down on a Saturday morning and we were having company that night which meant we needed the dishwasher to work. We contacted Sears, who sold us the dishwasher and they said they would come on Monday to repair it and that was it. We did a quick review of other service providers and came across AAA Appliance. They said an effort would be made to repair the machine on that Saturday and that they would call us back. They found one of their technicians that was working in our general area and had the technician contact us. He stated he would work us into his schedule for that day. The technician stayed in touch during the day and arrived in the afternoon. He fixed the problem in a very professional manner, explained what happened, cleaned everything up and completed the repair in a timely manner. The cost was reasonable, particularly with such short notice and on a Saturday. The entire team was courteous and responsive. We would definitely use them again.

When common issues arise the manufacturer will run out of stock on parts and they have to manufacturer (overseas typically) all the parts again to catch up to the demand for the issues due to part failure or other complications. In your case, there was a backordered part that we had to wait for to be manufactured, distributed to warehouses across the nation and then be sent to us. Although, we would love to change that system, sometime we are powerless in that process. Scott, the technician, did a fine job replacing the hinges in the lower oven. This required removing the oven door, taking it totally apart, and replacing the springs on both sides of the oven door. (parts were $162) He was very careful disassembling and reassembling the door so as not to cause any damage to the kitchen island. This was the third time the hinges had to be replaced on the lower oven--apparently, Kitchenaid had a problem with this 2001 model! Every few years the hinges stop working and the lower oven door won't stay closed.

The leak was caused by a loosening of the fitting for the hot-water hose. The serviceman explained that the Maytag hose junction is depressed on our model (since changed in design on newer models) making proper attachment of the hose very difficult. He took off the top of the washer to access this part & reattached the hose properly. He left the machine away from the wall so we could see whether the leak recurred. If so, that attachment part would require replacement. Fortunately, the leak has not recurred. Moving the machine back between the laundry tub & dryer --it has rubberized feet that stick on our tile floor -- was the challenge. We were very pleased with the service, although I thought $193. was a steep charge for the service provided.

The technician was very polite and professional. It appeared that the bulbs did not work because the wrong size bulb must have been inserted and then blew the fuse. He checked all the electrical and fixed the hood so it now works properly.

I have a Dacor dual fuel range(6 burner, 2 ovens). I bought it 14 yrs ago and it was an expensive range. While baking something burst into flames in the back of the oven. AAA came out and assessed the problem and tried to solve it. Dacor said they didn't make the part anymore so Scott( a wonderful repairman) was determined to figure out how to fix it. By the way, all Dacor was going to do was assist me in buying another $12,000 stove! Long story short, Scott stuck with locating a replacement part and fixed my range! This is my only experience working with AAA and if Scott is a representative of the type of people they hire and the quality of work they do I will continue to use them for any appliance repair I need!

Ricardo came out to check our Range / Oven that we believed may be causing our CO2 detector to be going off. He went over everything and assured us that the Range / Oven was not the problem giving us piece of mind. This company is amazing on their technology and the service that they provide. I would strongly recommend them to anyone needing appliance services.
Description of Work: We had a scare the other night when the CO2 detector went off for the second time. During both occasions my wife had been baking something in the oven. She is a great cook so I know that nothing burned to cause a problem but the CO2 detector went off and created quite a disturbance. When I checked some resources on the internet it clicked that the the Range / Oven may not be burning properly and it might be causing some CO2 leakage.

Update: This is an update to their response that they were never notified that this was a coin operated unit. That is a 100% FLAT OUT LIE. They acknowledged this several times after and said they were sorry. Apparently they think they can just lie to make it seem like it's the customer's fault on Angie's List. Please don't use this company....choose a company that has some integrity. Original Review: A technician came out on Saturday. My window was 8am-2pm, but he was an hour late and arrived at 3pm. I didn't even mind that he was really late, as long as he could fix my washer. I stated on the phone that whoever came needed to bring a key to open the box for the washer. Even though any appliance company I've dealt with in the past always makes their techs bring keys, I made sure to mention it on the phone so it wouldn't be a wasted trip. When the tech arrived (late), the first thing he asked was if I had the key. I was livid....I had made 100% sure to tell them he needed to bring a key. When I said I didn't, he told me that my only option would be for him to drill through the lock, since this company doesn't carry master keys. I've never heard of an appliance company not carrying the keys. I obviously did not let him drill through the box and ruin my washer. Based on the description I told him, and from him plugging it in and running it, he said he knew right away it was the timer (even without the key). He wrote down the serial number of the washer. At this point, I was done with this company for how unprofessional they were. However, the office called me and apologized and told me that they would send someone else out right away. While this was a HUGE inconvenience to me since I work during the week (and they are only open 8am-6pm), I went along with it. After all, I just needed to get this fixed for my tenants. Then came today, when they sent another tech out....all he did was bring the key, open the box, and tell me it was the timer!!! He didn't even bring a timer to fix it....that would be an additional trip and an additional charge! How can this company claim to service washers, but then not carry the most common parts?? In years past, when I went with better service companies like ABT (who actually bring parts with them so they don't waste a customers time), I never had a time take so many trips to fix! Not only that, but they wanted to charge me $340 altogether to fix the timer. What a HUGE ripoff?! I've never paid above $225 to have this same timer replaced by other service companies in the past....and it never took THREE TRIPS!!! Needless to say, I'm not letting them repair the timer because I no longer trust that this company does anything other than screw up, or try to make multiple unnecessary trips to pad their profit. Why wouldn't they have told me that this would just be ANOTHER diagnostic visit if they knew I was in a hurry to get it fixed, and had to keep rearranging schedules to meet them. The answer is because I would have went to another company, and they wouldn't have gotten to charge me a trip charge. I should have know to just be more patient and I loyal with the company I was previously using....it would have been fixed by now! I would strongly recommend choosing another service company. If you want to overpay, and waste your time with multiple trips to diagnose simple problems, then choose this company.

When we originally received the appointment request, we were not notified that this was a commercial or coin-operated unit. We were also not given a brand, model or serial numbers. We need all of this information to order parts, so we could not have been able to pre-order a part even if we could have diagnosed without testing the unit. We do carry parts that we use more than six (6) times a year on the trucks that are able to withstand temperature and travel in vehicles. We do this to prevent damaged parts from being installed, which we hope you can understand. The timer was not a common enough part for us to stock in the van. We would be happy to address any additional issues with you offline or through Angie's List. Our service manager has reached out and has not received a call back from you. In the future, you are welcome to contact him directly to kindly address and resolve any of your concerns .

UPDATE: After the initial visit (see below), I complained directly to the company and they sent another technician out the very next day. He immediately and correctly diagnosed the problem. He also fixed it in 5 minutes without ordering any extra parts or charging me anything (even leaving me a little tool so that I could fix it myself in the future - free of charge). He also looked at the plumbing connecting to the fridge and gave me some advice as to how to prevent this from happening in the future and how to prevent damage to the appliance and the surrounding floor. Very professional and extremely helpful - completely changed my perception of the company after the initial visit. I will definitely use them again if I have any problems with my appliances. ===== Terrible. I was told that they would be there between 1 and 4 pm. Technician didn't arrive until 6. To their credit, they called to tell me that he would be late, but that was an afternoon taken off from work for no reason. Technician arrived, looked at the fridge for 5 minutes, announced that he couldn't do anything about it, collected his $86, and left. It is a GE fridge with a metal door. GE makes a part for this model that heats the water line to keep it from freezing. The technician insisted that this wouldn't work with our fridge because the part only works with plastic doors. In fact, it's the other way around - it works with metal doors, not plastic ones (verified at online appliance repair websites and with GE). He made no attempt to unfreeze the line and just told me that I needed to change the filter every 6 months. When I told him that it was only a 4 month old filter he just repeated that it needed to be changed every 6 months. He never checked the water pressure to the fridge itself to make sure it was adequate (a basic first step). He didn't listen to us at all, he made no attempt to fix the fridge, and he has incorrect information as to even what part the fridge needs. I am so, so sorry that I listened to the good reviews for this company on this site - that was my time wasted along with $86 for no result whatsoever. You're better off asking your cat to fix an appliance than these guys - at least the cat won't charge you $86 to walk into your kitchen before it tells you there is nothing it can do.

See my earlier review of May 9, 2013. After using the outdoor grill all summer, we finally had someone come out to look at this disaster. As I said in the original review, AAA Appliance Service Center mis-diagnosed the problem, then wanted a hundred or more dollars to come out again to correctly diagnose the problem. Their customer service woman was rude. Their Angie's List response to my review was way off the mark. Their made-up story that they don't service Joliet was news to me because the guy who took the original order and set up the appointment said "no problem". I wouldn't use this company again for any work.
Description of Work: Mis-diagose the problem, stating it was the stove's control board. A&E came out last week and correctly diagnosed the gas valve as the problem. We now have a working oven.
