It all started with a complementary vet visit extended to people who adopt from a shelter animal! Wheeling also supports various community animal care agencies with donations, fund raising, and veteranary services . The medical services are comprehensive, professional, cutting edge, and caring. I have been at ease with every doctor who has been assigned to see my pet. The kennel staff love animals advocate for them. They are professional, knowledgeable, and thorough. They are vigilant and very careful implementing the pet care instructions. The outdoor facility option furing day care is outstanding! There is assigned day care staff, but everyone drops in to interact with the animals. Everyone seems to know the animals by name and they greet you and them personally throughout your visit. The staff and technicians are friendly, concerned, professional, knowledgeable, and work hard to provide quality service. There is a medical side and a 'Pet Resort' side, but the staff accommodate each other in helping the client get a quality experience. I see genuine kindness extended toward my pet. My pet is happy to visit either 'side' of the Wheeling Animal Hospital and Pet Resort.

We've been using Wheeling animal hospital since 2003. While they are not the least expensive, our Shiba Inu's have received excellent health care and boarding services there. When I was rescuing I used them extensively for foster dogs. Currently we have a elderly dog and the staff have been super attentive to his needs when he goes in for checkups and boarding. Highly recommended.

They had given me very good service. It went very well. They have been very nice when I have been there. The doctors are very nice. They are very nice assistants to pets. The price was fair. I am satisfied with them.
I would use them in the future.

The vet and assistant were very nice and informative about our puppy. However, my one issue was during the exam they asked if we wanted her nails cut, this is our first puppy so I didn't realize they would charge $17 for trim her nails that weren't that long. Other then that all was good.

Sorry, but I'm not going to provide details about the day I had to decide to put my much loved cat to sleep.

I have been going there for 10 years. I liked the location and they were close. The price was average. They were nice people and took care of the dogs. I have no problems at all. The price was in line with what I expect.

I made the reservation over the phone and was quoted prices at that time. The person I spoke to said nothing about the additional cost for the insulin injection. I also found out shortly before I was to leave them that I was also required to pay for fecal testing on all three cats. My vet had already confirmed they were healthy by performing a comprehensive fecal exam but they said they needed one from each cat. I have been told by several vets that this is an abnormal request. I have never been asked to do that before or since by any other boarding establishment. Also since I was informed so late about this requiement for boarding, I had no time to have my own vet perform this test so I was forced to contract them to do it since they told me this right before I was to leave town. The cost of the tests were exhorbitant. They also told me my cats would have a window suite. When I got there, the "suite" was two cages put together by a tube with a small window view. When I picked them up they had been moved to another cage without a window view. Also the cat that was groomed was simply bathed but was not combed or brushed. The insulin injections were off schedule as I was told her next insulin injection was to occur at 9pm in the evening (normal time was 7pm). It took my two weeks to get back on the schedule that was appropriate for my personal work schedule.
