Borter Heating & Air Conditioning Co Inc

It was a breeze. I called Borter's after hours on a holiday weekend. A representative arranged for a scheduling call the following Monday.  (They would have come right away, but we opted to wait to save on emergency charges.)

Borter's called Monday morning, and we had an appointment for the same afternoon. Arrived exactly on time as scheduled.

Repairman was friendly and courteous. Explained our problem and showed sub-par reading on thermo-coupling. Replaced it with part from truck.

No problem since then.

On Tuesday evening, the A/C was running fine around 8 pm. Around 9:30, it seemed a little warm inside. The furnace unit was making a sound I hadn't heard before. The outside A/C unit was running non-stop. I finally turned it off at the thermostat so that the outside unit didn't run all night. Then I called Borter and left a message to pls call me the next morning. (And then I set up fans!)

Their office staff member called me the next morning around 8 am. She schedule a technician for between 10 am and noon. She called around 9:30 saying he was running early, and he arrived around 9:50. After describing the problem to him, he guessed that it might be the blower motor. But after inspecting, he said it was the capacitor and that the blower motor was running well. (They usually see blower motors going bad but capacitors don't go bad very often.)

He asked if we had a surge the day before, which we did in the morning. The old capacitor had a slight bulge to it. He was done with the work by 10:20 or so.

The itemized bill lists the capacitor at $112 and the diagnostic fee at $89, for a total of $201.

Their price was as the same as the bob park providers we knew. Their service was exceptional. When they walked in the house, they put covers over their shoes. They didn’t crack up in the house. It took more than a day to finish the work. The end of the day they cleaned up everything. They made sure everything worked and we understood how to use it and how to maintain it. I would rate them high overall. I would use them in future if we needed.

They are good. They always come when they say they will. They are very clean and pleasant to work with.

Everything went well. They found a faulty part and replaced it.

They are incredibly prompt and come out quickly. The crew are very friendly, knowledgeable and don’t push for service that I don’t need. They try and find the cheapest alternative. Their pricing is pretty fair and I have been very satisfied with their service.

The pricing of their plans was a little confusing initially, but reasonable to others I had looked into. I was originally told 12:00 when I scheduled. I called the day of the appt. and found out it would be between 12 and 2. The service rep came at about 1:30. He spent about one hour on each unit doing a good cleaning and inspection of the two units as it appeared the previous owner had not done any preventative maintenance on the furnaces in 8 years. He was very friendly and answered any questions I had while he was working.

From the beginning, salesman Chuck Mattingly seemed more interested in selling us a unit that would fit our needs and lifestyle usage than in talking up higher priced equipment (both the furnace a year ago and the air conditioner in the spring). Knowledgeable, thorough presentation.

They were real nice. They gave us different choices that we could do. They were efficient.

When we thought we needed a new furnace they were the only company that told us we didn't need a new one, and it actually lasted for a few more years. They aren't cheap but they don't sell you something that you don't need. The workers are professional and very friendly. They show up when they say they will. Whenever they come out they explain the work that they are doing. I will continue to use them for future services and would recommend them to others. The approximate cost listed was for the new air conditioner.

Although we chose another firm, I was impressed with Borter. Our initial phone call was answered promptly by a very pleasant woman and we were able to arrange an appointment within a day or two. The salesman showed up on time, had a lot of technical expertise and did a good job of explaining his recommendations. I'm confident Borter would also have done a very good job for us and it almost came down to flipping a coin.

As usual Borter was on-time, courteous and did a wonderful job. This is my sixth year using them and I have never had a single problem or complaint.

THEY ARE VERY CLEAN, ON TIME, AND THOROUGH. THEY WEAR BOOTIES IN THE HOUSE AND ARE VERY GOOD. THEY ANSWER ALL OF MY QUESTIONS AND EXPLAIN WHAT THEY'RE DOING. I'VE USED THEM FOR ABOUT 4 YEARS AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO.

ALL THE BORTER REPS WERE PROFESSIONAL, METICULOUS, AND PUNCTUAL. THEY DID NOT MAKE A MESS EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE IN AND OUT OF THE HOUSE CONSTANTLY. THEY WERE MORE EXPENSIVE THAN OTHERS WHO BID THE JOB, BUT WERE MORE PROFESSIONAL.

THEY WERE THE COMPANY THAT INSTALLED THE UNITS. I HAVE NO WAY OF COMPARING PRICE. THEY ALWAYS SEEM TO BE ON TIME AND THEIR SERVICEMEN ARE ALWAYS NICE.

HE WAS PROMPT AND DID A WONDERFUL JOB. HE WAS ALSO VERY CREATIVE AND DID A GREAT JOB TO FIGURE OUT WHERE THE PROBLEM WAS.
