Andy and Adrian are phenomenal.  They helped us out in incredibly tight timelines for both the estimate and work completion.  Their craftsmanship is exceptional and they are very fast too.  These guys are by far the best electricians i have worked with.  I highly recommend them.  No need to look any further.

Andy was responsive on returning phone calls.  Submitted bid as promised.  Followed up with setting a time to get the work done.  Was extremely punctual, and very professional in his approach.  Completed the work in less than the time promised.
Explained the process thoroughly.  Cleaned up after the project was completed.
Would definitely use AGC again for any electrical work.

After reading many reviews, we settled on AGC, and we were not disappointed!  Adrian was punctual, and worked quickly and efficiently.  One of the lights we were replacing was a closet light, and when I told him the light we intended to use, he very helpfully informed me that it would not be "to code".  He made a suggestion as to the lighting I needed, and I was able to quickly buy the correct lighting for the closet, and even had him replace lighting in two other closets that was not to code.  We will definitely call him the next time we have electrical work to be done.

Andy was polite, punctual, took off his shoes, laid drop clothes everywhere, cleaned up each day (leaving it cleaner than when he arrived).  I even learned a few things!  It could not have gone better.

Mr. Gheorgita (Sr.) was prompt, polite and very helpful in his inspection. There was one stand-out moment during his inspection, that I would like to share: He needed to open a switch box and examine the wiring inside. When he was finished, he told me that it would be just as easy to fix the problem (which had troubled me for years) as it would be to put the box back the way it was - and so he had repaired it for me before closing it up. I call that the very definition of 'professional courtesy'!
Mr. Gheorgita (Jr.) provided me with a clear, detailed and reasonably priced estimate via e-mail, just a few days after the inspection.
I accepted a bid for this job from another contractor, because they provided a broader range of services. But I am sure, from my personal experience with the two Mr. Gheorgitas, that AGC Electric would have done the job quickly, effectively and with a good attitude, too.

Can't say enough about Andy and the job he did.  He was professional, polite, on time and (most importantly) did a great job with the electric work.  I started swapping out an old ceiling fan for a new ceiling fan with light.  Ran into problems when I discovered that the electric box had been incorrectly mounted and was not up to code.  Brought Andy in to get a quote on doing 6 rooms in the house including the room I had been working on.  He reinstalled the electric box, brought everything up to code and did a fantastic job of installing all the new fixtures and getting everything properly wired.  He was great at communicating his schedule and what he was able to do for me (we opted not to put a light in one room since it meant cutting through crown molding to wire it).  Very respectful - took off shoes, drop cloths everywhere and cleaned up all the mess at the end of each day.  Even knocked rather than rang the doorbell b/c he knew my kids were napping.   He also has a lot of integrity.  When I overpaid him, he immediately drove back to swap out the check for the correct amount.  Whenever I need electric work done, I"ll be hiring Andy again!

The AGC technician arrived and we went down to the basement to check on the box. As he was checking one circuit went dead. I explained how about half the house went dead especially during storms and he checked and saw one of the mains from outside with meter reading of zero. We went outside and he removed the meter and carefully cleaned the leads. Went back inside and there was still an issue. We went back and he not only cleaned the leads from the meter but also cleaned 2 sockets from the the house box as well. He had much less trouble reseating the meter and once inside the power was rock solid. The contacts of the meter had become corroded. I had had another electrician check this last year but he found only that it might be a problem with the inside box. AGC made sure the leads from outside were also checked after getting my feedback on the issue. I have had this issue for roughly 7 years and finally in a one hour visit it is corrected. Thank goodness for Angie's list and most of all this electrician's determination and thoughtfulness.

I was told by a home inspector that I needed a bonding jumper on my electrical service.  I called AGC this morning, and Andy was able to fit me into his schedule today.  He was prompt and professional.  Upon inspecting my service, he identified that I already have a bonding screw and that I didn't require anything else.  We then discussed GFCI outlets for my kitchen.  He was knowledgeable about code, and I decided to upgrade my outlets.  He went out to purchase the needed supplies, returned, and quickly completed the work for a very reasonable fee.  Andy also gave me other valuable information about my electric service and current electric building codes.  I was very pleased with Andy and his work and will certainly call him again if I decide to do further upgrading.

Once I sent out a request for an estimate, AGC promptly requested visiting my house to give a proper estimate.  I was told that there might be drywall damage to provide access for cabling going between the basement and the second floor.   That was scheduled, and within a couple days of visiting, the estimate was provided.  After looking over the estimate, I requested a few changes to the proposed work.  A new estimate was provided soon after.  I waited a little bit for a competitors estimate, but that turned out being much more.
I accepted the estimate, and scheduled the work.  At the time I was told that there might be a long delay getting started because of another project.  I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the work could be scheduled within a week or two of accepting the estimate.
They arrived to start work on time.  The work proceeded smoothly.  They found a way to route the wiring from the basement to the second floor without having to cut any drywall.  All the jacks were labeled, and the corresponding wires in the basement were labeled.  They installed the light fixture I had purchased.  When the job was completed, the amount requested was the exact amount of the estimate.

Andy was fantastic!  We will be using him again whenever we have a need.
He was prompt in scheduling and arrived exactly when he said he would.  We asked him to install a new fixture in our office, which included some unpleasant surprises from work that was not done properly by the previous homeowners.  So, what in theory should have been relatively straightforward, became much more complicated.  Andy was very careful, thorough and efficient and took it in stride, seeing it through.  And the end result is great.
He is very pleasant and professional, and I would highly recommend him.

When I joined Angie's List, it was in the hope that I would find an electrician like AGC Electric. They did excellent work at an excellent price. Andy was very responsive to phone calls, text messages, and email, and communication is critical when working with a contractor. And they were very pleasant to work with.
I am sure there are other excellent electricians, but we will call AGC for any electrical work in the future. I highly recommend them.

Andy was prompt, and did a great job.  He takes pride in his work which was demonstrated by his concern that everything was done to our satisfaction.  The job was done in a timely fashion and everything was cleaned up afterwards.  I would recommend his work without hesitation.

Fantastic service, very conscientious about where to run new electric lines to minimize impact to yard -- If you didn't know where the new lines were run, you'd never know the ground was ever disturbed!! Everything was done quickly, neatly and with attention to detail . This is one amazing team, highly reliable, capable and great to work with!!

We got a few people to come out and gave us their proposals.  Andy was the first to respond and visit.  Others made a big deal of how big and tough this job would be, and that they may need to open the walls etc.  Likewise their quoted prices were much higher with much longer estimated work duration.   It almost made us wonder if Andy had underestimated the work and complexity involved.  We got Andy to come out again to discuss all the details and potential concerns.  He was as always very prompt, responsive, and always patient and smiling.  He went into the crawl space to check things out to confirm what he was saying.
We also brought up that we very much liked the idea of switching to use LED lights instead but not sure if there are any on the market that produces the same kind of feel of traditional lights (the ones we tried before we did not like, as they produced spot-light kind of projection).  To help us make the decision, Andy actually went back and did a lot of research and found some nice options and recommended them to us.  Not only did he send us the full spec of these new products, he ordered a sample and brought it over to us, installed it in one of our existing recessed lights (in the kitchen) so that we could see it for real before making the final decision.  After seeing it, it was no question that this was exactly what we would like to have installed on the 3rd floor.  The new lights were very expensive, Andy?s quote included everything - the cost of labor and all the lights, switches, wires, etc.  Again, very reasonable compared to other quotes we?ve gotten.
On the day of work, they came right on time.  They were very quiet and careful, absolutely professional.  I had assumed that this project would create a lot of dust on the entire floor, so I was quite impressed to see how very neat and clean their work was for the entire duration.   The circle cutouts from the ceiling were done without extra wall damage or dust.  Andy crawled in and out of the crawl space without bringing out any of the dust or insulation material pieces (after one of the other guys who came out for the quote, we had to vacuum up all the pieces of insulation he had brought out.)
They progressed quietly, quickly, and neatly with perfection.  They absolutely knew what they were doing.  No figuring things out on the fly.  They finished the project without touching any extra inch of the wall that is not already an outlet or needs to have something installed there.
We love how our 3rd floor space looks now with these new lights and the arrangement of the switches.  We will go back to Andy for any future wiring needs and we highly recommend him to anyone.  This guy knows what he?s doing and is good at his profession.

For a week or two, lights throughout or house were dimming or flickering, and it was getting worse. Fearing fire, I contacted ComEd who said a wire from meter to breaker panel needed to be replaced. So I called three electricians for estimates.
The first guy checked only the meter, not the breaker panel, and gave me an estimate of $1200 which included moving and replacing the air conditioner.
The second guy said the problem wasn't dangerous but would require further diagnosis. He advised living with it for a while.
Andy G, the third guy, checked both meter and panel. By tightening some connections at the panel and by reseating several breaker switches, he pretty much solved the flickering problem. He then checked the meter and said one of the wires was shot. He replaced that wire and its parallel wire, to prevent future problems. He did this all of $130 instead of $1200, and the AC did not need to be moved.
Andy is polite, thorough, knowledgeable, and punctual. Next time I need an electrician, I will call him immediately.

Great experience with Andy.  I called initially, told him what I needed done and he said confidently that he could do it.  I asked him for a per hour rate and he was the most competitive out of four other electricians I called.  He said he could do it within a few days time which worked great for us.
Andy texted me the night before to confirm the time, place, etc.  He showed up a few minutes ahead of time and was very nice to talk to.  He got to work pretty quickly and completed the job within about three hours.  He even went above and beyond by helping me assemble the generator (I hadn't unpacked it from the box yet) and testing it out.
He cleaned up the area after he finished and was very pleasant to work with the whole time.  I was very impressed with him and his work and plan on using him in the future for other projects.

Andy was great.   He called me, I told him I had two small issues that needed to be addressed.  He was able to come out the next day and took care of both items.  Very nice, polite and professional.  In my opinion to grade him with an 'A' isn't a high enough grade.  Will for sure call him again for future work!
