Our central air conditioner stopped cooling during very hot weather. Econotemp sent out a serviceman the same day as the call. He told us that our old air conditioner was essentially past the point of repair. As we knew we also needed a new furnace, we asked for a quote on replacement of both.(Both were at least 10 years old). Marilyn at Econotemp came to our house within about an hour to discuss the prices of various models of units and give her recommendations for our house size. She had a serviceman install a new air conditioning unit the next day, Friday, which was so wonderful since it was miserably hot, and both my husband and I have sinus problems and need air conditioning. The following Wednesday, Bill installed a new furnace. He also very cheerfully hooked up a new thermostat we had purchased. The house was so clean after the install that I could hardly believe that our dirty old furnace had been removed. Bill was very nice and answered my questions.

When I contacted the company they were very accommodating in setting up an appointment for a technician to come out. The costs were explained. On the day the technician was to arrive, I received a call about 10 minutes before the arrival window (7:30 a.m.-7:45 a.m.) to tell me he was on his way. He arrived and attentively listened while I described the problem. He was able to figure out what was wrong and get the room cooling within an hour.

Marilyn came to my house at a prearranged time and did a thorough analysis of our home's heating and cooling requirements. We had the furnace replace a couple of months earlier by another company. She had a few insightful comments regarding their work. After asking several questions regarding our budget and we agreed on a unit and price. The work was done within the time frame promised and at the agreed price. All in all a very good experience.

Overall, I was happy they did not charge me for recharging the Freon the second time, since they has missed the leak on the first visit. Eric was extremely nice, very professional and knowledge about products and long term solutions. Marilyn was very pleasant and very professional in getting my issues solved in a fair manner. The price seemed to be in line with other vendors and they used quality replacement parts. I will call upon Econotemp again for my HV/AC issues.

They had to replace a sensor that detects the flame presence. They cleaned everything thoroughly and were very knowledgeable and professional. They have helped me in the past with other minor repairs and I'd highly recommend them to others!

The technician arrived as scheduled. We even received a call to confirm that he was on his way. No problems with the work. The pound of freon quickly added $90 to the bill.

EconoTemp advertised a special discount for servicing A/C units. I recently purchased a house and was not sure that the A/C unit was in good condition. It was easy to arrange an appointment, and Eric was very punctual. He was friendly and helpful, and carried out his work carefully and quickly. He gave me some advise on maintenance of the A/C unit, as well as my heating unit. Overall, he was great!

Rep was prompt and courteous, performed the work quickly and efficiently.

I called Econotemp for a second opinion on fixing my air conditioning unit. The first company said that to "patch" the unit would cost $800, but they highly recommended that I replace the entire unit for an estimated $4000.00. Marilyn at Econotemp quoted me a price of $500 dollars to fix the unit, and said that it was unnessary to replace the unit. Marilyn came out to my house the day after I called for an estimate, and a day later sent the tech to complete the work. I am very pleased with the service - they are prompt to respond, trustworthy, and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I have been a customer of Econotemp for many years. I have worked with everyone in the company and have been happy working with everyone. Steve, the owner, is unbelievably helpful and knowledgeable. He does not hesitate to tell you honestly what you need or don't need done. From service calls, HVAC installs, boiler work, sump pumps and parts they have been a great asset to me and my renovation company.

We selected them, because the year before we had estimates done and they advised us, not to do the work, until better space packs were available. Bob the installer and one helper showed up on the appointed date. They installed the equipment and took away the old equipment, taking about three days. Even though it was cold, they tested their work before leaving. In about a week, we noticed that one of the ceiling ducts had been pushed down about 0.25". Bob came back and fixed the problem.

Excellent! Marilyn stopped by (on-time) to look at my existing system and gave me a quote. Didn't push for anything, I didn't need. Installer showed up on-time and began right away. Was given an install time estimate of 8 hours. Installer finished in 4.5 hrs. Was told it was the easiest install, he had did in a long time. Now my home is consistently warm and the air circulates very well. Old furnace was noisy, I barely even know when it is running now.

I called Maralyn at 7 am and she provided an estimate of $200 for the motor. She told me after three someone could come out. At 3:15 she called me to let me know it would be another 30 minuets for the repair person to arrive and needed the unit manufacturer name. I provided the name, Erick arrived about 4:20, was very polite, did his repair in about 45 minuets. Left with the unit running properly.

Overall, very good response and job. I had been having problems with my home warranty co. and their contracted plumber for 10 days (!) to replace my water heater. Finally got so fed up that warranty co. allowed us to choose our own contractor. Got a good recommendation on Angie's list for Econotemp and for good reason. I called them at 7:00 a.m., spoke with Steve (the owner I think?), explained my problem, and he said he could arrange to have a tech and water heater at our home by 9:30 a.m. He worked around my schedule of picking up my child from preschool. He answered all my questions about energy efficiency. He had the water heater in stock. He gave me a complete price for installation and removal up front including replacement of 2 valves which were broken. There were no price surprises. The technician was polite and experienced and quiet. He called an hour ahead to say what time he would be there and was on time. Very happy with the work and the company.

All went well. He got lost getting here (as did many other suppliers). Explained things clearly. Best of all, did not give me the impression that he was out to sell me replacement equipment...

The furnace was not cycling properly. I called Econotemp on a Thursday afternoon requesting a Friday morning appointment. The dispatcher called about 7:30 am to say technician would be there around 8. The tech was on time, and the problem was solved in about 35 minutes. The tech walked me through what he was doing so I can do for myself next time.

When I called EconoTemp, I was able to talk with someone right away and get an estimate for the work I wanted. Not so with the other two companies from the list. I also called two other companies not on the list for estimates. With EconoTemp being right there with pricing, I chose them. The installer came on time and was helpful, friendly and professional. He did a good job and did not spend too much time getting it done. I would definitely use EconoTemp again for any HVAC service or installations.

This company was great to work with from the start. Marilyn provided me with an estimate and was very thorough with the pricing and work description. I decided to wait to do the work but after a few months I started having trouble with the furnace. Marilyn provided an updated quote and was able to schedule the work when I was available. The two workers were very professional and cleaned up everything.

From the moment we called Econotemp and made the appointment for service, we were very happy. Bill was helpful, professional and took time to explain and/or answer any questions we had.

The office person "squeezed" me in for an appointment four days later, as I requested. The repairman came in the three hour window they gave me. He took apart the blower assembly and ended up taking the fan wheel back to the shop in Downers Grove. He was gone about 45 min. and returned with a new one which he then installed. I really don't know if I needed a new wheel or not, especially since this was done off site.

THE ECONOTEMP REPRESENTATIVE WAS PUNCTUAL. RECENTLY, I PURCHASED THIS HOME AND I ASKED A NUMBER OF QUESTIONS ABOUT THE HEATING/AC SYSTEM, ALL WERE ANSWERED COMPLETELY AND PROFESSIONALLY. ECONOTEMP DID A HIGHLY THOROUGH JOB AND PROVIDED USEFUL ADVICE. THE COMPANY SEEMS VERY HONEST AND I WILL CONTINUE TO USE THIS SERVICE.

The came out the same day for which I was grateful because my furnace was not working during a sudden cold spell. They even called to let me know he was on the way. The technician was polite, clean, worked promptly and efficiently. He answered questions, was pleasant, and cleaned up. I felt the price I paid was reasonable for the service performed.

Everyone at Econotemp was courteous and helpful. Bill was on time and thoroughly explained the problem. They were cooperative with scheduling.

They were good to deal with on phone. They were very prompt and came within a day of my call. They diagnosed and fixed the problem very well. Their prices were reasonable.

Very helpful, gave some other suggestions to help such as running the A/C fan or installing a ceiling fan.
