No real story.  I think they are fair, honest, and responsive.  Petr and Jason are who I dealt with and both a very professional and knowledgeable.

call center sent plumber over immediately. He cleared the blockage quickly.  Then I decided to have him reseat the toilet which he did well and they have a one year warranty on this work.  I definitely would use this service again as it is much better than my previous service provider with the same toilet.Plumber I had was Jason. He was awesome!

Had a sump pump problem.  Called and described the issue to Petr and received some free advice on how to address and test the issue.  He spent 15 min on the phone with me at no charge - fantastic service without having to spend a penny.  They are definitely my go-to service in the future when we need trustworthy plumbing help.

Our property has a lot of trees with invading roots, a very long sewer line, and an indoor cleanout located in a finished interior room. Arco recommended an exterior cleanout to minimize interior disruption (pulling carpets, moving furniture), and to allow the use of a larger root cutter to better clear invading tree roots.
They were quick on an estimate, and were able to schedule the work at a convenient time. In my case, the actual cost was less than estimated.
We've used Arco for years, mostly for emergency sewer rodding. In previous calls, the guys from Arco have always been prompt, efficient, and careful about maintaining cleanliness in our home. With our new outdoor cleanout, we can schedule routine maintenance cleanings and avoid the emergency calls.

They are very trustworthy. We had some very old plumbing, and other plumbers were much more expensive. Arco was able to provide us with cheaper solutions to a couple of different plumbing problems. I have been very happy with them. I would use this provider again.

Everything went well. They came in, diagnosed the problem and fixed it. They actually found that there was a well that was completely unsealed and fixed that as well. Would definitely use them again.

Arco is great to work with.  I called for an appointment and we arranged a time which worked for me.  Arco called the morning of the appointment to let me know the tech was on his way and would arrive at the appointed time.  He was pleasant and courteous and the work took approximately 30 minutes and the area was left neat and clean.
I will definitely continue to use this company.

I spent about $2000 on the job. They were great. They did what they needed to do. They did not do unnecessary work. The guy was very honest. He did not rip me off. I think the price was fair. I will use this company again in the future.

Arco was pleasant to deal with on the phone and came out with in 2 hours of making the call.  Jason was pleasant and diagnosed and fixed the problem.  This was an original part that was 30 years old and took him an additional 1/2 hour to remove but he worked through it and fixed the issue.  Also replaced the spout as the plunger for the shower was very stiff on the old spout.  Everything went well and works great now.

They are very good. They haven't sent the bill yet. They were fine. They came when they said they were going to come and they did what they said they were going to do. They were very neat and we've had no problem since. They were very responsive and very professional. He took his shoes off when he came and we told him he didn?t have to do that. He said no and he treated it like his own home.

Very satisfied. I needed same day installation of water heater and needed to work around another project. Their office was very understanding in fielding the call. They arranged for someone to stop by for an estimate and check status of other project to assess when they could do the work. The worker arrived punctually to check out the situation and provide quote. He told me to give a call as soon as the other workers were gone. When I called to let them know the area was clear for them to return and do the work, they again showed up punctually. Work was friendly, professional, competent, without delay. I was pleased with their work and their cooperation in working with my schedule.

Overall it went fine. We had a dripping/leaking shower handle as well as an old concrete utility sink in the basement that was leaking from the PVC pipe that connected to the sink's drain. The drain was completely corroded, which meant that we needed a new sink. Arco came within a few days. Jason, the plumber who came, was very professional - he diagnosed the shower problem quickly, pointing out that the cartridge was cracked. He was unfamiliar with the brand and offered to try to find a replacement, but we told him we wanted to see if it was still covered under warranty, so we obtained the part separately. The sink was also easily diagnosed, and because we told him ahead of time that we wanted a new sink, he was able to install it that day. He did a very nice job connecting the old pipe onto the new sink faucet - contacts were smooth and attractive looking. He bolted the sink to the wall well and also installed a contraption that holds the laundry machine drain tube onto the side of the sink so it wouldn't spray everywhere. The sink installation took maybe 2-3 hours. He tested everything thoroughly before he left. He also spent over an hour with us to describe all of the ins and outs of house plumbing (we are new home owners). And he always wore the shoe covers when walking on carpeting or clean hardwood. The only problem we had was that we were having some water spray onto the floor during washing cycles because of soap bubbles rising from the drain. When I called to schedule the shower repair, I mentioned this to them and the receptionist said that they would take care of it when they came. On the second visit he took about an hour to fix the shower and he also installed a rubber guard on the sink drain to ensure that no more water bubbled up from the drain. He did not charge us for this latter fix, as it was part of the original job. Overall we were pleased with Arco's professionalism and punctuality as well as the quality of their work. I'd hire them again. (p.s. I should add that Jason presumably had to break apart the concrete sink to get it out of the basement. He didn't even leave a speck of concrete dust on our basement floor. I never saw him take the sink out and I still don't know how he did it without making a sound or even a bit of mess!)

Incomprehensible negligence. Replaced a 1/2HP sump pump with a 1/3 HP pump even knowing that the 1/2 HP was struggling to keep up with our flow. In the first major rainstorm, the pump failed to keep up and our basement flooded- a week before we were supposed to list our house. I called Arco, somewhat hysterical, in the middle of the night as the sump pump well began to fill (had been alerted by our alarm system). I called afterward and explained that the sump had failed to keep up and asked them to call me. They never did. Appalling.
Response from Arco Plumbing

"We are happy to respond and are empathetic to the member's trials. We were originally called out to their home June 1, 2010 to check their sump pump system. On that visit, our Illinois state licensed serviceman determined that the primary pump was running constantly, working fine. All discharge piping was found to be working properly and water was coming into the pit at a fast rate. The secondary pump, 1/3 hp Zoeller 53, was also tested and found to be working. It was determined that there most likely is a high water table present, especially, since the basement is unusually deep at 12 feet below grade. The pump would run at a consistent rate, even when dry outside. On June 29, 2010, we were called to replace the primary pump and installed a new PHCC ST1033 1/3 horsepower pump with high head capacity (this means that it pumps more water at a higher distance more efficiently). The work was performed with the homeowner’s approval. The serviceman did not note on ticket that the old pump was a ½ hp pump and when questioned about the job after the complaint was received from Angie’s List on Aug. 4, 2010, did not recall talking at all to the home owner about pump size or capacity. Unless otherwise requested, we replace existing pumps with same size. The pump had been installed and working through several storm cycles without problems for almost four weeks. Apparently, the homeowner experienced flooding problems on the morning of July 24, 2010. As you probably know, Chicago-area highways and many community roads were closed due to flooding. Our area in particular, from Clarendon Hills to Westchester, experienced the worst flooding. Per the complaint description via Angie’s List, their alarm did alert them of high water. However, there is no statement of improper installation or pump failure. Our assumption is that the water was just coming into the basement faster than both pumps could handle. We received over 100 calls in several hours Saturday morning and roughly 50% were due to pumps not being able to keep up with the rain that was coming into basements. We were handling calls as much as possible and we surely may have missed some calls, especially in the early hours from 12:00-4:00 a.m., when all three of our phone lines were not manned. For that, we greatly apologize for any missed calls. Our customer service has always been thorough and that is why the majority of our customers remain loyal and refer us to others. We certainly did not receive any calls from the owner after 4:00-5:00 a.m. because at that point, all calls were being personally recorded and addressed. Unfortunately, due to the weather that day, many homes flooded drastically and we did what we were capable of for our clients. We assumed, since we did not hear from them again, that their problem resolved when the flooding receded. All of our labor and materials are guaranteed for one year. We received no further correspondence or complaints from them concerning pump failure or installation problems. Petr Hornik-President"

Arco recommended Art's Home Remodeling ( 630-936-7969) to do the removal, framing, drywall and tiling repairs. ARCO did the plumbing work (installed new shower basin) Arthur and one helper did the majority of the work. They showed up exactly on time, workmanship was outstanding, completed as promised and at the estimate. I was concerned that the plumbing had not been tested before covering up with drywall; no problem, ARCO's owner came back and tested the connections. FIRST CLASS outfits!

He came and fixed the pipe. I have an old house, so they had to modify things for it to fit. My son also wanted a faucet replaced, but this was a faucet from the 30's. He was able to modify a part to fix that as well. He was in an out within an hour. He definitely knew what he was doing! I would highly recommend them to others.

I called another local plumber (highly rated on Angie's list) who listened to a description of my problem over the phone. He was not familiar with the brand of my shower hardware and seemed disinterested. Arco was very helpful and responsive over the phone. Our plumber was courteous, professional, and reasonable. We will use them again for any other small or large jobs.

We had a quoted price from the office, but the plumber did not know that. He had to call in to get the lower price verified, which went fairly quickly. I'd have preferred they communicate better, though. After that, he started while they brought him some parts and a hammer drill for the brick. He corrected a handyman's bad job of installing the other pump (not on the quote) so he had to run two pipes and then mortar up the hole. He was done in three hours and it's a clean looking job.

After being blown off by the plumber who has done work for me in the past, ARCO responded promptly and professionally. Jason was scheduled to do the work the next day. He arrived promptly at 8:00am (I was given an ETA on the phone of between 8:00am and 9:00am). I showed him the problem which was no problem to him and by 8:20am he was on his way and have had no problems since. Just great!

I had installed a new faucet, and when I went to use the shut off valves I found they were leaking. Arco has an emergency service and they came out right away. They said this was a fairly common problem and they were able to fix it right away. They are very reliable.
