They were good and sent out three guys to work on three individual tasks. This was good because they got the job done quickly. They asked good questions about future use and our likes and dislikes. The only thing that bothers my husband and me is that on the contract they specified they also would fertilize our trees and bushes for the year and treat our elm tree. The elm tree has existed for 25 years with no problem so I declined this portion of their offer. I would liked to have them fertilize the trees and bushes but the problem is that in the small print they said they would come out and fertilize time after time for the rest of the year unless we tell them to stop; and the treatments are not cheap. So if I had not read the small print we would not have known and we would not like that but I will use them again in the future.

They were punctual and did a great job. I was really impressed at their cleanup. It looks like they carried all the limbs rather than dragging them as the place was really clean.

I didn't go well. We waited all that time to have the branches removed, were threatened by the city, and in the end received only frustration.

We did not have the work performed due to the very high cost estimate.

I would especially like to compliment Evan Schor on his professionalism, completing the initial appointment the day after the massive July floods (when we'd lost phone service so we couldn't confirm the appointment). The tree was removed quickly and quietly and the stump was removed as well. I especially liked that "Care of Trees" is a solid company, with written estimates, phone and email availability and professionalism. Some of the companies we contacted (from Angies List, no less) offered one price for cash, another for credit or did not put things in writing. I would definitely recommend Care of Trees for tree removal.

They came out, estimated, I signed on, they came about about 2 weeks later and treated my yard. So far it looks good. Grass happier, weeds feeling the pain.

It went very well. They did a great job for us. They also did some additional tree spraying that helped the trees stayed healthy.

They were great and reasonable. He was proficient. They had an actual arborist. They were very good about coming within the time frame. They were priced right and came out quickly. They cleaned up and they ended up doing a little extra once they got here, but didn’t charge me which was nice.

They were quick in responding to provide an estimate and because of that I decided to go with them right on the spot after the estimate. I had indicated that I was having windows installed sometime soon and so I was looking to have the work done soon - but I did not put a date in the contract (I wish I would have .... otherwise I probably would have walked away.). However, it took several weeks for them to call and schedule - even after they had already billed me for 1/2 of the cost and after I had repeatedly called to let them know that I need to know about scheduling since I was concerned about having the trimming done before the window installation. Apparently the problem was work backup due to all the storms, but a simple return call would have kept me informed and would have not have irritated me due to the lack of contact. So, I had to postpone the window install by a week - because they did not schedule the work yet. They finally returned my call and the work was done. The workers did a good job and cleaned up well, but I was very disappointed with their responsiveness in scheduling.

Our only concern was the work was not done as originally scheduled and we had to follow up.

We got 3 estimates from 3 different "A" rated tree service agents, and The Care of Trees estimate was the highest. Since our finances are pinched at the moment, we opted to go with the middle estimate ( which was substantially less expensive). Were money not a consideration, I'm confident that we would have gone with The Care of Trees.

I called them out to get an estimate on having 5 very large shrubs removed. I showed him the shrub situation (large evergreens within a retaining wall) and explained that I really didn't want to lose the shrubs but felt that I had no choice since the roots were beginning to push out the stone wall. He looked over the situation and told me that the problem was not the shrubs but a water drainage issue and settling of the wall. He could have very easily quoted me a price for the shrub removal and I would have taken the shrubs out. Instead he gave advice that was in my best interest and not about making money for the business. Since he was there already I went ahead and asked about preventative treatments for some trees (which I had done) and also about lawn treatments. Again, with the lawn treatments he was honest and said that they could not help my situation...they could kill my weeds but my lawn is just too shady for grass to thrive. I was impressed with his integrity and that he didn't try to sell me something that I didn't need or that wouldn't work in my situation.

They are a very professional company. They do good work, and they do it properly. They have very good arborists. They spend a lot of time with me answering all my questions. They make sure I understand what is going on with all the trees and shrubbery in my yard. They go over their treatment plans with me very well and their recommendations before. They have good customer service. They are very friendly and helpful.

I like the quality of their work as they seem to have it on the top. They are very knowledgeable. I would absolutely use them again in the future.

We had them come out two years in a row; in 2009 and 2010. We didn't use them this year because we moved. I would recommend them to anybody.

They do fine. I hired them several years now. They are reliable. They communicate well about their plans and schedule. They get back to me promptly if I have a question. The trees look good.

They are very professional people. They do very good. I have no complaints. They are not the cheapest around but they know what they are doing.

It was excellent. They have done nice work. We have used them three years in a row. They are there when you want them. They are Johnny on the spot. When they are done everything is cleaned up. We have no complaints.

They cleaned up very well after themselves. They do a very good job. The workers were cordial. They diagnosed my crab apple and told me that it was dying. I would get them again if I have to get my autumn blaze trimmed out.

The same person comes out every time and he is thorough, he educates, and he lets us know what we need and don?t need. He has been accurate in terms of scheduling 100% of the time; other places just come when they want regardless of whether you are there. They are professional, consistent, and reliable. They have done everything that we?ve asked them to do.

The person who came out to give me the quote was extremely knowledgeable about trees. He really seemed to be interested in his work and was a great representative of his company. Their price was comparable to the other quotes that I got.

They came as a recommendation from my lawn care guy. I like them because they have certified arborists, so I know my trees and shrubs are well cared for. The guys always knock to let me know that they are there and let me know if my pets need to stay off the lawn when they fertilize. The office staff is very professional and helpful as well. They are very reasonably priced.

Good experience from estimate to service to cleanup. Price was fair given the quality of the work. Care of Trees estimator Alan explained options and wrote a firm detailed contract. Crew was on time with the proper equipment and experienced crew. Work was performed professionally. Clean up was quick and thorough. I have to say this was a great experience from start to finish. Would definitely hire again.

They provided me with the quote and then did the work. They have completed the work now. The job went well. The arborist who came out was very good, thorough and knowledgeable. He explained a lot to me about what was going on with the trees. They are a busy company because they came out about 5 weeks after we had scheduled for the work to be done. I then met the arborist. I think we ended up moving the schedule, but they had originally told me that it would take 5 to 6 weeks from the time he met me which was about a week and a half after I had called them. He was out on the property and we did the consultation. I signed up and they came back this week to do the work. They did a nice job of cleaning up afterwards. Overall, the job went well. I think they are on the higher side. I think I would have been able to get a little bit better value if I had done more shopping. On the same note on that kind of thing, you get a little freaked out because I didn?t want somebody to kill themselves while doing the tree work. I didn?t want to know later on that they weren?t licensed, bonded and everything else that they needed to be. However, I didn?t have to deal with that with The Care of Trees. I had tree work done at my house in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan two weeks ago. There was at least ten times more stuff taken down and it was for a third of the price compared to what I paid to The Care of Trees. I had several large pine trees trimmed. I had a white pine and another tree taken down too. There was one individual who came out and did it. Their bill was $275 and The Care of Trees billed me $480. It was the most part of Illinois versus the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. When I signed up six weeks ago, I was standing near my window at the end of the day watching it all and I thought that I should have looked around a little bit more. They were very professional and I didn?t have any issues with them. However, I had a vision in my mind wherein I thought that they would take down more stuff than what they actually ended up taking down. The guy who was out doing the cutting was very knowledgeable. He told me that he couldn?t take the whole thing down since it would damage the tree. I certainly didn?t want to damage my tree. If it was me, then I would have probably cut more stuff than what they cut. I think part of that was because they were trying to keep the tree healthy. It?s a very dense area over here in Chicago and there are very mature as well as large 100-year-old trees. All that is going to happen is that I would have to call them again in the next year and pay another $480 to cut the trees since it would grow right back into my neighbor?s house as well as my house.

The project took longer than expected, and they missed a couple of appointments. The tree trimming wasn't very impressive either, but they did an excellent job with the tree removal.
