Again, I want to thank Scott and his team for the thorough and professional work they did.
Services were very timely since that house is under sale contract and needed to be ready. Allowed the sellers to offer a house that was in proper shape for new inhabitants. Scott was very patient and met twice with me and later the outgoing owners. He was on schedule and budget. I would recommend him to anyone dealing with this very difficult problem left from prior generations. A good company to start getting back on the right path with
tTheir price was higher than our other bid, but LSE discovered additional asbestos that the other contractor overlooked.
Scott was very knowledgeable, courteous and professional as were his team. The large job was completed in two days and everything put back as it had been before they came. We were quite please with their work and would definitely recommend them.
Scott followed up and was a great communicator via email (something much easier for me than voicemails and calls).
I am glad to have the materials removed and to have worked with Scott.
Price was competitive - about $500 lower than the other bid we got, for the same exact job.
We did have to wait a couple of weeks to schedule, as he is busy - not a bad thing.
Scott even sent us a check for $9 that we overpaid! We were impressed by the gesture.
They might not be the cheapest on the block, but you get what you pay for... plus they might actually be cheaper for your real needs than others because they will do encapsulation as an option where others won't
The responsiveness, punctuality and following up is amazing especially compared to most contractors I've dealt with.
He was honest and not trying to scare me into a more expensive (but not too much more) removal option... I however decided to go that route for aesthetics more than anything (out of sight out of mind, which is important depending upon why you are having it done). Other companies might be a little less, but is it worth a mere hundred or so less to wait a month or so when time is important (usually time is).. And with this company, time is highly valued and respected!
"We always start out with the least expensive EPA recommended method of analysis first. This least expensive method can sometimes have false negatives and further testing is recommended. When asbestos is in vermiculite, it is in there as a contaminant, and was not introduced during the manufacturing process as in most other asbestos containing materials. Because further testing was declined, I was not willing to write a letter representing to the new buyer of the home that no asbestos was present in the vermiculite. This seller took issue with my refusal to write the letter."
