He was punctual and came two days after I called. He replaced a part in the ice maker. It immediately starting making ice. The refrigerator was running warm and he noticed some ice buildup on the back wall near the bottom shelves and used a hairdryer to melt it. He also showed my daughter(I was out of town), how to do preventive maintenance by vacuuming the top area to remove the dust. When I returned, I noticed the temp in the refrigerator was still warm and called him back. He came over two days later and moved a sensor and that fixed the temp problem. I would definitely call him again.

My relatively new Kitchenaid dishwasher did not clean at all on the top rack. I am handy so I called the manufacturer and asked if there were any parts or filters that might need to be cleaned. I was told there wasn't any. I used Angie's List for the first time and found this company. Mike scheduled an appointment within a day or two of calling. He came on time. He cleaned a metal screen of food debris and charged me the quoted $75 for the service call. He was clean, neat and polite.

Mike came the first time and did a temporary fix saying that he needed to replace the hinges which had to be ordered. He came back and fixed the door and within 3-4 days the door started malfunctioning again. I called him again to take a look and see if something else was wrong. He came back and then just left without saying anything. I called him back several times to find out what was wrong or if he could fix it but he just never called me back. My wife finally got hold of him (he would not return my calls) and he told her that the hinges were bent again and had to be replaced. She asked him why he did not return my calls and he said he was trying to "avoid conflict". Overall, very disappointed with the whole experience.

I called S&S Appliances at 2:00 p.m. this afternoon and, to my amazement, Mike said he could be at my house by 4:00 p.m.. He arrived at 3:55 and by 4:10 he had determined the problem and fixed it (replacement of broken drive belt). He was polite, professional, and extremely competent...far exceeding my expectations!

I called S & S and received a call back within a day. We set up a date for the following Monday between 10 and 12. At 10:17 Mike, the owner, was here. He was courteous and went right to work. Replaced a dryer timer, balanced the washer, fixed the dryer filter, and was finished in about a half hour.

Mike came to the rescue for a refrigerator that had totally stopped cooling in very hot weather. He came very quickly, right on time and fixed the problem in about 15 minutes with parts he carried right on the truck. He is very knowledgeable about all kinds of appliances and provided wonderful advice about choosing and maintaining refrigerators and other large machines. I am so glad we found Mike, through Angie's list! The fridge, which was in the house when we bought it, had its manufacturer's 24-hour emergency number listed on a sticker inside the door. We called that number first, but they couldn't scheduled an appointment even to come out and look at it for over a week. That's when we went to Angie's list and thankfully discovered S&S. In the event we ever have more appliance problems, we won't panic knowing that Mike will get to us very quickly with excellent help.

Mike was able to get us on his schedule with short notice, and arrived promptly on the day of the appointment. Overall, Mike was professional and a pleasure to work with. I would not hesitate to hire Mike in the future for appliance repair work. Mike was very informative, giving us some tips for maintenance steps we can take to avoid having to schedule a dryer cleaning in the future.

My gas dryer had stopped working (no heat), so I checked the List. I called S&S Home Appliance late on Wednesday night & Mike called me back Thursday morning. We arranged to have him come over between 10 & noon on Saturday. He got there at 10:20, took a look at the dryer, took it apart, & determined the problem (bad sensor). He said he had the part in his car & gave me an estimate of about $110. I said ok, & he went out to his car, got the part, & was done by 10:40. $111 total, $34 of which was for the part. He was very nice, very polite, & very efficient- I was amazed that the whole thing only took 20 minutes! I'd definitely use them again.

Mike played "phone tag" with me, which was my fault as I wasn't available for his calls. He arranged a service call via my answering machine & showed up on schedule. He was quick to find the problem, neat in his work, professional in all he did, & pleasant. Would definitely hire him again & would absolutely recommend him to others. His service call was $75, about the average in the area. Quoted the price for the repair, had the part in his truck, & was done in no more than 20 minutes.

Found out late on a Thursday night the igniter was going bad on our Whirlpool oven. Left a message with S&S that night. Mike called back Friday AM, scheduled for Friday between 1pm & 3pm. He was out at 1pm and replaced it.

Mike from S & S came to check my dryer timer as it would not turn off the dryer. He found the timer was broken, took the part number, and promised to order it. It was only a short time (2-3 days) before Mike called and set a time to come and install the part. He was more than prompt, friendly and courteous. We will definitely use his service again when any of our other appliances breaks down. Our bill included his house call cost ($72) and the cost of the part ($75). He did not charge for having to come a second time.

IT WAS NICE THAT WHAT HE HAD TO FIX, HE HAD THE PART ON HAND, SO THERE WAS NOT MUCH DOWN TIME FOR MY DRYER. The tech that came out was very nice and I have already recommended them to others.
