Homewerks Construction

Overall, Tom, the owner is a nice guy and he means well.  He works hard, and his crews are trustworthy and do high quality work.  They are a reasonable price for the work that they do.  
However, the way that Homewerks approaches the job is pretty disorganized, and Tom is not a good communicator.  They don't lay out a clear schedule, even when asked for one (many, many times), and Tom is very inconsistent in when he gets back to you.  Oftentimes, texts or calls or emails go unanswered.  When they do get answered, they're oftentimes vague or only focused on what's going to happen in the next day or two.  You never know what subcontractors are going to show up from one day to another, and there is no visibility into when the job is going to get done.  
The only time that Tom becomes hyper-responsive is around the time that he's asking for a payment.  The overall process in our second project with him turned us off a lot.  We had referred people to Homewerks based on the quality of the first project they did for us.  We even brought them back for a second project, but don't plan to use them again.
