Description of Work: Came out to install filters. I bought my new furnace and air conditioner from them 3 years ago. They have serviced it twice a year, winter and summer and are always excellent and available if you need them. Shavitz is the best!

Description of Work: I have had Shavitz as my HVAC company for more than 10 years and have had the best best experience using their high quality service on my air conditioner, furnace and humidifier. I have their service agreement, and this was definitely worth it especially the few times that my furnace has "acted up" during the really bitter cold and they came out way after 11P to work on it. The service people are professional and well trained and not even the "most challenging" job is difficult for them! If you are looking for an HVAC company that is the best at what they do then Shavitz is the company you should call...pronto!!

Description of Work: Serviced one of my HVAC units under warranty. Over the summer I had my AC and heating repalced by Shavitz and they were very competitive and easy to work with. I had some extra items that needed attention to and they were able to satisy my request. The my "go to" HVAC company.

Description of Work: I hired Shavitz to perform a routine check on a furnace and a boiler. I also asked them to check the boiler relief valve which was triggering when the boiler ran for a long time. The technician found that the expansion tank valve was leaking air and replaced the valve. I asked the technician if I could watch and learn as he performed the service, and he obliged. He patiently answered all of my questions and was very helpful. | |I graded the price a "C" because the rates seem average. They are similar when compared to other companies I have used.

Description of Work: First, although I have a maintenance contract with them, I had to wait many weeks for an appointment. Second, for 2 years now I have had a misunderstanding as to whether my maintenance contract covers my humidifiers or not. I think it does and have a record of paying for that add-on; they keep telling me it doesn't. Third, when they diagnosed a problem with my furnace that was covered in large part by the mfg, they estimated a cost to me of $500 for the repair. When the technician completed the repair he requested a payment of $1480. I blew a gasket and refused to pay that amount. They lowered it to $850 immediately, but then I pursued it further and ultimately they refunded another $300+ to me. While I appreciate the fact that in the end, I paid what I expected, the experience was very upsetting and really shook my confidence in the firm. I think they are way over their heads from a mgt standpoint with poor communications. They are not the company they used to be.

Description of Work: Boiler would not start up. Repairman tested various possibilities and determined the cause was a blown fuse. He replaced the fuse, showed me the size and instructed me to have some on hand in case it happened again so that I could solve the problem without a service call. Very professional and courteous.

Description of Work: Extremely professional company. They have project managers who scope the job and organize the billing and timing of installation. Very smooth. Price was fair. Did not compare. Worth every penny even if it is a bit more expensive.

Description of Work: Used them many times. Servicemen have always been polite, informative and professional. Only one problem with their work and they corrected that with no questions asked AT NO CHARGE. They installed a new boiler, installed a radiator and have done boiler tuneups for 6 years.
