My husband and I went into our garage yesterday morning to find a pool
of water under our cars.  Of course, it then dawned on us that maybe the
water had not actually been shut off and the pipe running through our
very cold garage has actually burst.  (We've only been in the house a
few months and thought the water had been capped in the garage.)  It
also happened to be leaking water into our basement.  That morning, I
immediately sent an online request via the website for an appointment
that same day.  Someone called me back in about an hour and made an
appointment to come to the house at 3 pm.  When we arrived home at 2:55
pm, they were waiting for us.  My husband showed the two guys the garage
and then the basement.  Of course, they confirmed the obvious, the pipe
in the unheated garage had burst.  They clamped the pipes, properly
shut the water off to them, and rerouted the plumbing to the outside so
that we could have a hose in the front, if necessary. They even
squeegeed out all the water in our garage...a total bonus!  Overall,
good experience.  This is out second time calling them.  They have been
responsive, courteous, and reasonably priced.

We had problems with our galvanized pipes being totally
corroded with deposits so much that there was a literal trickle in the bathtub
upstairs. We had been struggling with this for years and in July 2012 we got estimates
from three plumbers. All the estimates
were fairly similar but we chose RB because he was very responsive, Ruben the
owner takes calls, no message, no waiting for dispatch, etc. Finally after lots
of back & forth (on our part) we finally bit the bullet & got the work
done. We got the pipes replaced with copper, new valves & everything is now
up to code. Ruben said it would take about a day 8-5 & he was right. No
surprises or additional fees & he worked with our concerns. This was our
first & hopefully last major plumbing job so be prepared that even if they
throw tarps down & wear shoe covers the house can get messy & smelly
from soldering pipes. We intended to hang around but it got too noisy & the
smoke was overpowering. All in all we are happy with the results & upgraded
plumbing & would recommend RB to friends & family. I?d say the
operation was very professional. Lastly Ruben was happy to accept the Angie's List coupon.

I needed a new pump and it was a Saturday. Had it been a weekday, my partner and I would have shopped for a new pump and paid for labor to install. For 1.5 hour work and a pump that is $350, $450 in labor was high.

RB Plumbing sent out Tim to check my clogged toilet drains. Tim came out, diagnosed the problem, completed a rodding service and gad everything working as good as new in one hour. Tim was on time, very professional and even discounted my for a misdiagnosis from a week prior because I did not know how to explain my issue to him. I will recommend RB Plumbing to anyone who knows zero about plumbing. These guys don't try to take advantage of customers. The owner, Reuben, explained everything to me, step-by-step over the phone. Very pleased with the service I received for a very manageable price.

R & B responded immediately to our call and someone came out the
next day. We have used them multiple times and will continue to do so.
So happy to have someone we can call "our plumber," because I know what
we'll get--fast, reliable service at a reasonable price. I have to admit that I am a pretty picky customer and they have never disappointed.

The dishwasher began backing up into the sink on both sides on Wednesday night.  I sent out a request for service using RB's website on Thursday morning.  By lunch I got a call back and arranges for the plumber to be at my house at 4 pm.  The plumber can put on shoe covers (!) came in looked at the sink and then requested to take a look at the pipes in the basement.  He explained the problem to me and then told me that if he could fix the problem from the kitchen it would run about $185 and if he had to start working on the pipes in the basement, it would run about $350.  I said fine.  He started working in the kitchen.  After about a half hour, he had fixed the problem and recommended that we change out the pipes in the next year or so.   I then asked him to go back down to the basement and take a look at some things that the inspector had raised during our inspection.  He gave me some advice and options about the problem.  I would be more than willing to call them out to do the work in the basement later!

I called RB on a Thursday asking if they could come out on Saturday.  Initially the owner was with a customer so he took my name and number and said he would call me in about 10 min, which he did.  He scheduled an appt. to come out on Saturday at 10 am.  At approx. 9:30 am on Saturday, I received a call from an RB employee confirming my address and telling me they would be at my home in approx. 25-30 min.  They arrived on time and actually put paper booties on their feet so they wouldn't track in any snow/dirt.  I told them what the problem was and they initially thought I might need a new valve but after doing some testing they determined the hot water pipe wasn't letting water through because over the years it had become clogged with sediment.  They were able to remove some sediment to enable the water to flow freely.  They tested the water pressure and also checked the aerator and removed sediment from it too.  It now works beautifully.
After they completed the work, I asked one of the gentlemen if they installed equipment to stop the water from going to the hoses on my washing machine when it was not being used.  I had seen this on This Old House and thought it might be something to have installed so I wouldn't have to worry about a hose bursting.  The gentleman wasn't sure what I was asking about, (not his fault because I didn't know the name of it and wasn't explaining it very well) so he immediately called his boss and put me on the phone with him.  I told the owner of RB what I had seen on This Old House and he explained to me about pressure in hoses and how the pressure on my hoses would be about 48 psi and this was fine since a hose was capable of handling about 120, and because of the town I live in and getting Lake Michigan water  and not living in a multi-dwelling building where the pressure would flucuate, he said I didn't need it.  Needless to say, the owner could have totally sold me what I was asking for but he obviously is a person of integrity who isn't going to sell you something you don't need just to make a buck.
I highly recommend this company based on their customer service, the work they did and their honesty/integrity.  I will definitely use them again in the future.

It went very well. They paid attention to detail, such as leaving dirt piled up on the parkway on top of the opening for a period of time before removing to allow for settling so we would not have a sunken area. They did a great job.

I recently had my sewer line cleaned out by another company Once they  had done this, they told me that the line was broken out near the alley and that it would be roughly $8000 to fix it.  Given this was a bit more than I was expecting to pay for the cleaning (typically around $200) I called RB Plumbing for a second opinion. They came out the same day, and ran a camera down the pipe, traced the line, and gave me a USB stick with a video of what they found. They were on time, talked me through everything, found the spot the others indicated needed a dug-out replacement. RB told me  the water is flowing for now and advised we wait a bit and see after a month or so and check whether the line was flowing properly or not. If not, then we'd probably have to take action. They gave a couple of options to approaches that were several thousand dollars less than the estimate from the other company.  So I'm glad I called. They did what they said, they did it on time and politely.

Contacted company because toilet was leaking.  He replaced ring and suggested that rusty tank bolts be replaced too.  A couple of weeks later, we noticed some water near the toilet.  He returned shortly after we contacted him and identified the problem as condensation.  He did not charge us for the second visit.  He was very professional.

Woke up after a night of rain (the beginning of a big winter storm coming through) to find water seeping up through basement floor; figured out sump pump had failed.  Called RB Pluming around 10:30 am and was told they could send someone out at 1 pm.  They installed a new pump and check valve in about an hour, and they were great in explaining how the new pump works and how it differs from the old broken pump.  Will definitely seek out for future plumbing issues!

We bought the house just over 2 years ago and NEVER had a problem with sewer drainage. A little over a week ago, rather than make an unnecessary Costco run just for TP, I purchased a different brand that shall remain un-named...the problems started shortly thereafter.
After trying to call someone that was recommended by a family member, and having gotten 2 busy signals, I remembered that I had an Angie's List subscription. So I did some research and called R&B Plumbing and described my problem. They asked me if I was at home and had the time. They were here in less than 20 minutes!
Tim (and his assistant) was very professional, checked the basement drains, listened to my concerns, told me what he thought the problem was (the line needed to be rodded out), quoted me a very fair price, we agreed and they started the work, i.e., they showed up prepared to do the job.
They were done in just under an hour. No mess, no fuss and charged me the quoted price...AND he gladly accepted the Angie's List coupon which saved me an additional 10% off of what I though was an already reasonable rate.
Good job guys, thanks.

This wasn't an emergency, but something I wanted to get done in the near term.  I left a message and was called back the same day to set an appointment.  The plumber showed up on time.  We discussed what could be done to minimize the chance that the pipe would burst again, and that approach was implemented.

Ruben (the owner) gave me an estimate for moving a gas line valve behind my stove so that the stove could sit as close as possible to the wall. As soon as he gave me the estimate, he asked if I wanted to have the work done today. Being three days before Thanksgiving, I said yes. Within a half hour Tim arrived to move the valve. Ruben was there at first to give direction, and came back a little later to see progress & help move the stove back. Tim had to open up the wall to check the pipe and move the elbow. Once everything was connected, Tim & Ruben moved the stove back to see how close it was to the wall...PERFECT! Although R.B. doesn't repair walls, Tim used some cardboard and duct tape I had to temporarily cover up the hole behind the stove. And then he swept up the kitchen floor. Both Tim and Ruben were very professional. I have hired Ruben in the past to do plumbing work for my condo as well as the building. He does a great job and I will hire him again!

I had just bought my house as-is, and there was virtually no hot water coming into the bathtub/shower -- just a trickle. I called RB Plumbing the morning after my move, and they came out the very same afternoon. It took quite a while for them to remove the old cartridge (over an hour), but the piece did seem to be legitimately stuck in there. Once the old cartridge was out, the new one went in without a hitch, and I've had great hot water pressure ever since.

A crew of 3 worked on each of these units in an efficient manner to replace all the old pipes and installed new shutoffs. It took 6-1/2 hrs and we all now have great water pressure in our sinks, showers & toilets. They did a great job and they were very professional and I recommend them very highly.

I contacted several plumbing companies to see if they could come out the
same day (I called on a Friday morning), because I was going to be out
of town starting on Monday. Nobody was able to come the same day except
for RB Plumbing.  They picked up the phone on the third ring and assured
me someone would be out at 4pm (on a Friday, no less).
Tim, one
of the partners of the company, came to service my garbage disposal.  He
was engaging, efficient and gave me extra tips, such as using an Allen
wrench (which he gave me because he had extra ones) to unclog the
disposal in the future using a socket that was underneath it.
He gave me a first-time users discount and was in and out in less than an hour.
I'd highly recommend RB Plumbing & Sewer and will use them again.
