Good.  It was a minor problem - a cherry pit was stuck in it.  He showed up on time and finshed the job quickly.

We called R.B Plumbing on 6/21 to schedule a non-emergency visit to repair a dripping bathtub faucet and unclog a bathroom sink faucet that was barely flowing.  Tim came out on 6/25 and arrived a few minutes ahead of the scheduled 8:30 a.m. appointment.  He was able to diagnose an replace the "Chicago faucet" stems in our bathtub, making it much easier to turn the stems on and off, and instantly eliminating the dripping.  He then addressed the "clogged" sink faucet, which simply needed a new aerator.  He was in and out - work completed and everything working as good as new - in barely 30 minutes!  We were very satisfied.

It was a great experience.  I am a new home owner and a single woman so I needed someone  who could do the job and explain to me what they did and how they did it.  Both men were engaged in what they were doing and very professional.  I will definitely call them annually to come out to clear my line given i have large trees in both the front and back yard. Would recommend them for any plumbing need.  They quoted me a price and even though they had to do a bit extra given my access spot they didn't charge anymore.  Other firms charge by time and these folks charge by job.

No one showed up for the scheduled appointment.

I contacted the provider three times between July 8 and July 17, 2013.  I used Angie's List messaging as well as the provider's website / contact links for email.  I have not received a reply.  I have moved on and have received estimates from other service providers.  I won't be contacting this provider in the future.

I spoke with Tim and requested a price to install a kichent faucet and replace the shutoff valves under the sink.  He agreed to $195 to install the faucet and the valves, plus the cost of the valves.  When the faucet was installed he determined that the valves were not faulty as I had thought (must have had crud in them, that cleared).  So he installed the faucet, took the check for $195 that I left with my father in law (I had also left $40 in cash for the parts).  He did not call me to discuss.
I later called and said that since the valve installation was not done I should not have to pay the full 195 since not all the work we agreed to was completed.  Tim said that $195 was for the faucet installation and he was going to install the valves for free, so I didn't get anything back for the work not done.   The problem is that this was not what we had agreed to.
I've used Ruben for clearing a drain, a new sump pump and backup, and a garbage disposal.  I've always been happy with him and his work, and his prices.  But after this experience I'll shop around first before hiring a plumber.

7/22/2013 Now the seal in the valve continues to deteriorate and pieces of black rubber are plugging up my brand new faucet restricting the waterflow to a trickle.

We have had flooding twice in the last few months. I decided to think about flood control. I called this plumber and asked about an estimate. He said between $6500.00 and $7500.00, no payment plan. He said he didn't have time now to come out and give an estimate. I didn't say I wanted him to come now. I found the whole interaction rude.

Corteous, punctual, clean easy to schedule an appointment.  From this experience I have no reservations about contacting them again in the future if/when needed.

The day before the 4th of July holiday weekend RB Plumbing was able to send a team to fix our toilet. Their promptness and willingness to help a first time customer was greatly appreciated. They kept in contact regarding appointment time and address. They arrived on time and with the proper equipment to get the job done quickly. Extremely professional. Thanks so much.

Reuben and Johan did an excellent job as per usual. We have been customers of Reuben since initially hiring him over two years ago and just wanted to take this opportunity to sing his praises once again. He is a master plumber who does excellent work. He has highly skilled plumbers working with him. We recommend him heartily, often and with no hesitation.

The plumber was great, he was on time and very helpful. He said that the slow drain in the kitchen is probably just air in the pipes and not worth the expense of him trying any treatment. He explained how you can see the air bubbles come out the other side if it's air that is causing the problem. He also explained to me everything that was going in as they video taped the condition of the sewer line. As a new home owner, I learned a lot!

Ruben had told me he would call the night before which he did and bright and early two of his employes showed up on time began work. They were great. Was impressed by there work .Devoted to getting the job done were neat and clean and very efficent not to mention very friendly.They dug the hole by hand replaced the pipe and rodded the sewer line and showed me all the roots that were in the line and installed a access pipe so if line needed to be rodded again no digging would be necessary.They were awesome.Replaced the dirt cleaned up wouldn't know they were there if not for the dirt refilled in the hole.Overall the experience with the company from start to finish was great.They were professional and personal all around great experience.

Mr. Ruben Borjas and his two helpers worked quickly and cleaned up as each unit was finished to the residents satisfaction, and we would have them back again for any plumbing work we need in the future.  They performed like the professionals that they are, and we're very grateful that their workmanship has had no problems since then.

Everything was great. Friendly workers, and the work was done promptly. Cleaned up well. Did a nice job.

It was great. He had a coupon we could use along with his great price.  Came out right away and finished quickly.

This is proably the 5th notice I have received from Angie's list to review something that hasn't even been completed yet! So far, so good is about all I can say. 

Tim from RB Plumbing arrived a few minutes early and patiently listened to the issues that were presented. He then made recommendations on which issues to resolve based on priority (drain rodding, drainpipe sealing, sump pump repair and flood control). As I had purchased a Big Deal to perform the drain rodding, he quickly addressed the drainpipe sealing and provided recommendations on how to tackle the sump pump repair.
In addition to the stated work, he was also willing to look at an unrelated issue - low water pressure coming out of a 2nd floor shower. An additional walkthrough of the basement allowed him to recognize that copper plumbing wasn't the issue. We went upstairs to the bathroom and he immediately recognized the faucet manufacturer, correctly diagnosed the issue and promptly modified the faucet, removing an internal restrictor, to significantly improve water pressure.

Called and explained problem of sewer backup. Could not understand most of conversation, garbled phone and unintelligible speech. I understand that he basically cut me short and told me I had two choices of expensive fix, no discussion, no explanation. Assuming I wanted to spend $10,000, I would not have given it to a person who had no apparent interest in my call whatsover.  Called another plumber and had an understandable 10  minute conversation in which I learned what I needed to know. I can now evaluate my options and proceed with the 2nd plumber if necessary

We woke up to 3-4 inches of water in our basement...Johan and Ricardo came out within an hour of calling to replace a defective sump pump.  We felt extremely fortunate that they were so responsive on a day following record-setting rainfall in Chicagoland.  They quickly diagnosed the problem and had a new sump pump on the truck.  They also checked our other sump pumps to ensure they were working properly.  R&B Plumbing has done other work for us in the past, and they have always done a great job!

Much to my surprise, Ruben returned my call within a few hours, was out that day for an estimate, and provided someone to come and do the inspection and repair the following day.  I felt pricing was fair, and service was incredibly prompt and pleasant, from Ruben and from one of his plumbers.  High quality and great value!

They did a great job.  They rodded out the drain and it's been running fine.  No more backups from the floor drain.  And then they replaced the section of drain pipe.  Not only did they do a solid leak-free replacement of the drain pipe, but they mounted a bracket onto the wall to support the horizontal section of pipe in the middle so it will not sag in the future.  They actually improved the whole functionality of the drain pipe and made it better than it was before.

Great job, very professional, courteous. They came within an hour.
