Mike worked with us to find a date and time to complete the work in my home. Once we were able to find a date and time, his team did a great job to sand and refinish my floors with two coats of poly all in one day. They completed the work very thoroughly and it turned out very, very well.

I arranged for Mike and his team to do the work while we would be out of town.  I provided him with a key so he could come and go during the three days he expected this to take.   When finished, he locked the doors and left the key on the kitchen counter.
The GOOD THINGS
1.  They were on time. 
2.  They completed all the work requested.  
3.  They left things VERY CLEAN (I was impressed by that).
4.  There was nothing else moved or disturbed in the house, so my faith in their integrity and honesty was correct.
The NOT SO GOOD THINGS
1.  When I got the bill, it was for $940 - in other words, for the full $1500 total.   I asked about this (i.e., effectively not getting my Angie's List discount).  He said that the discount was already included - that his 'extra' work was really about $1000 worth, especially because of using the water based finish.   I didn't like that explanation, but didn't argue it.
2.  The floor color was not the same as my original.  It came out several shades darker.  It was not bad looking, but just not what I expected it to be, and it certainly did not match the area that I requested.
3.  There were a few places where crack filler was applied in small gaps where board shrinkage over time had left opening of pehraps half-millimeter or so.   Apparently, the final surface coats caused the crack filler to expand, because in several places it had 'oozed' upward slightly so it was NOT flush with the floorboard. 
4.  Though I am not an expert, it appeared to me that the coats of the surfacing material may have been applied one over the other without waiting sufficient drying time.  There are what appears to me to be some small areas where the finish coating is not even.  And the final surface is not as 'vibrant' looking as I hoped it would be.  Though it is nicely clear, it is relatively flat, and has no sheen like I expected.
The FINAL ANALYSIS
You get what you pay for.   This was a relatively inexpensive job (even though I did end up paying more than I expected).  And while I believe Mike is an honest businessman and his work is acceptable, I am generally accustomed to true high-quality workmanship.   This was not of that caliber.   Had I been at home while the work was occurring, I may have been in a better position to intervene and get the floor color and/or crack filling satisfaction I expected.

Beautiful work! Mike was great to work with and flexible with his schedule. His price was very competitive and his guys did a fantastic job. We were very happy we made the decision to get the floors done with his company.

I kept having to wait for an appointment. He was not prepared for the volume of people who signed up and fell behind.

After forgetting to show up when originally scheduled, Mike rescheduled and began on time. The job took several steps but was completed within a week. they showed up when they said they would and worked around my daily schedule.The men moved the heavy furniture and put it back at the end. They cleaned up after themselves each day. Considering how much dust this could have created they did an excellent job of managing the mess. They consulted with me about matching the shape and stain color for the new trim. When they were finished everything looked great.

This is a very difficult floor to put in. Mike and his team were awesome. They were punctual, meticulous and overall very professional. We couldn't believe how patient they were by selecting specific pieces of wood to use. At one point we thought we were going to run out of wood and panicked. However, they made sure they used each piece carefully to make sure we didn't run out. When they were done, they cleaned up and left the room cleaner than it was before they came! The floors look fabulous! I would definitely recommend then to anyone. Too bad I have no more floors to put down! Would definitely use again. Very reasonable and great communication. Thanks again!

It went great. They did a really nice job.

We packed all of the small or breakable items and moved them to the basement. Mike's crew moved all of the furniture to the garage and covered with tarps that I provided. They then removed all the doors; taped and covered with plastic all cabinets and openings to the second floor; removed the old carpeting; and put filters over the heating vent returns. Yes, we did have to move out during the work. The old carpeting was cut into three foot sections, rolled up and taped, which allowed it to be picked up with my weekly garbage collection.
Mike's crew really worked hard to complete the job. I was amazed how they were able to seamlessly join the new and old wood floors together. After they sanded the floors they applied three coats of polyurethane. You can's tell which was the old floor and which is the new. Mike's crew did a great job cleaning up after the sanding and after the work was completed. They moved all of the furniture back in. Don't misunderstand my comments, even though they did a great job cleaning up, you will still have some cleaning to do, but they did a great job to minimize it.
I stopped in as time allowed to check on the work and see if anyone needed anything. Mike was always available by phone if I had any questions. For any hardwood flooring work, I would certainly use Mike's Hardwood Flooring again.

My floors look amazing!  I have red oak original flooring from the mid 60's when the house was built.  There were some areas that were so damaged/stained I wasn't sure if they could be refinished.  Marcel and his crew did an amazing job, the floors looked brand new after sanding!  Marcel also provided samples of 4 different stain colors that I selected so I could see what the colors would look like on my actual flooring.  The finished result is absolutely beautiful!   Mike, Marcel and the crew were all very professional and went above and beyond what I expected (even after reading all of the great reviews)!  After my floors were finished I called Mike with questions on a Sunday, I didn't expect to hear from him till Monday.  Mike called me back within 30 minutes and said if I had any additional questions to call him again. 
I will recommend Mike's Hardwood Flooring to anyone I know who is looking for Excellent Customer Service, a Professional crew, and an Exceptional Pricing!

Mike showed up on time, introduced me to his workers, and let them at it. They worked diligently and for as long as I let them, stopping only because my neighbors limited their time in the evening. Mike estimated 4 days and that's what it took, even though the quality of the work under the original floors caused some issues. At the end of work, they cleaned up everything and hauled off all the rubbish.
Mike stopped by before work was complete to inspect the work, and I'm happy with the floors. The floors no longer make any noise as I walk on them.
Mike's quote was a bit higher than others I got from Angie's List, but he only had one number. Everyone else tried to add hidden fees for dumpsters and other things that would actually make their costs higher than Mike.
When I redo the front part of my house, I'm going to call Mike again.

It went as well as could be expected given the toilet problem and complications that come with an old home.

First and foremost, we are so pleased with the end result of our
hardwood floors.  They look so beautiful and it was all because of Mike
and his skilled team.  Mike is a no-nonsense, tell-it-like-it-is kind of
guy who takes his business seriously. We asked him to quote on
refinishing our first and second floor hardwood floors in our new home
prior to our moving in.   The condition of the first floor wood was in
pretty bad shape and we knew it. He suggested just replacing it
(especially since we are planning to add an addition, it would?ve been
easier to match and we would be much happier with the end result).   We
ended up spending about 20% over our original budget to replace the
floors, but for brand new floors, it was well worth every penny.  Mike
quoted us a price and stuck with it; he even offered to buff and add a
coat of finish to our hardwood stairs at no extra cost; which we were
just planning on ignoring.  His team worked quickly on the floor install
itself and poly coating.  He even offered to come back and put on the
3rd coat of poly after our painters had been through, so that everything
was nice, new and fresh. 
We had a few hiccups at the end of
the project with tying up some loose ends; we needed them to come back
and collect some remaining debris as well as cut some holes for HVAC
venting.  That took a couple extra days and a few extra phone calls, but
eventually all work was completed.  They even took away some extra
drywall debris for us that they did not create.  We would definitely
recommend Mike?s Hardwood Flooring to anyone looking to beautify their
wood floors.

It went very well. Mike came to the house, did an assessment, and established the cost.  He also explained the work he was going to do and established the cost. We set a date which we had to postpone for personal reasons.  A second date was set.  The workers arrived on time, were very polite and did a great job.  They returned three days later to move the furniture back upstairs. They were very careful with the furniture and did not scratch the floors, furniture, or walls.  We are very happy with the job and have recommended Mike to others. Everyone who has seen the floors think they look great.

They arrived at approx. 8 am and were finished at 5 pm.  They  also installed cord around on the baseboards.  (This was included in the price.)

The work in it's self was very well done.  Both the gentleman that gave us the quote and the two gentlemen that performed the service were very attentive and very professional.  However on the day that the work was to be done there was a communications error between the rep and the work force.   Seems that they weren't sure of the color I was going with and they were unaware of the matching registers that were ordered.  They did not charge me for the registers but, they stipulated that the would get back to me and never did.  Also I felt the color used was a little darker then I was accustomed to and I wanted it to same as close to the same as possible. But the work was very well done.

They came in and did a fantastic job. They even helped me move a few pieces of heavy furniture out of the way.

I appreciated how flexible they were with scheduling since I had to reschedule twice.  They were prompt and came early in the morning so that I could be at work on time. They covered everything up and cleared up remaining furniture/doors before starting.  The floor looks amazing!  They did our living room, dining room, hallway, closets, and kitchen.  They were very really nice to work with and so professional.  And I think we got an amazing rate for the high quality work they provided. I appreciate how responsive they were to my questions and they were easily accessible throughout the whole process.
Our floors looked and felt really bad before Mike's service fixed it. We hired some other folks previously to sand and gloss our floor and they really made a horrible mess. With Mike's service it looks amazing. I would whole heartedly recommend them for any flooring work.

The whole time was very non stressful for me, because of all the time they spent giving me the information about the project.

Mike's was a pleasure to use from initial estimate through completion of
the job.  Friendly and professional, everything as promised, minimal
mess,  and our floors look fabulous!

We had purchased the 'deal' off of Angie's List and, while that didn't go as far as I would have hoped, they did an excellent job and the floor looks beautiful.  They returned calls promptly, they were on time, and they were clean.  

When Mike first came for the original walkthrough, I was surprised that he got so excited by what I considered my dingy, scuffed, and dark wood floor.  Not only was it old, but it had been underwater for a period in 1989, the one and only time my basement flooded.  It turns out that the floor is covered with rather thick parquet wood, which Mike could appreciate immediately.    Unfortunately, a parquet floor takes more time and materials, and he also ended up refinishing the window ledges as well, so the job ended up costing closer to $1,500 than the original special price of $545.  Of course, I was disappointed that it cost more, but it was definitely worth it.
He and I both made sure to take "before" photos, and I took some during and after photos as well.
Although I was able to clear out the room, the two workmen who came out helped me with the treadmill.  They took one day to sand and put down the first coat of varnish, and they came back a second day to do the second coat.  Later the next week, they came by to check on it, and helped bring my treadmill back in.  I think they were afraid I would scratch my beautiful floor if I tried to move the treadmill myself!

I called Mike for an estimate a few months ago and he arrived the SAME DAY! His price was fair and he was able to schedule our job very quickly. They just completed sanding and refinishing the first floor of our home and rebuilding/finishing stairs to our basement. It came out absolutely gorgeous-we couldn't be happier! They helped us move a few big pieces of furniture before and after the job and were extremely careful with our furniture-you could tell they also took great pride in their job on our floors! I recommend this company HIGHLY and will use them again if we have other floorwork to be done in this home or future homes. THANK YOU!!!!! 

I purchased the deal to have my floors done by Mike. He showed up for the estimate on time and i was very pleased with his professionalism. His people showed up on the agreed upon time and they finsihed the job as per specification. The only caveat i would have to other poeple getting the job done by Mike is to be prepared to provide access to your electrical panel. They connect directly to your elctrical panel wiring for their sander. Other then this little surprise i would use then again if i had the need!!!
