They did a good job. They were here before and extended a piece of gutter and didn?t charge us. They also reattached a piece of guttering in January. Their prices were better than a handyman. They were prompt and had a nice team. They keep a list of people and come out when the weather is good.

Andy came to my home with two workers. The job was completed within an hour. After they got here, I asked Andy if they could cut one of the drain pipes shorter, which they did. This caused the final cost to go up a little bit (not much). It was the old heavy metal type drain pipes and wasn't easy to cut.

He did the job when I wasn?t at home. He was reasonable and was responsive; he even called us back. He was here in a couple of days.

Andy came within a couple days of my initial call to give me an estimate for the problem that my gutters were not draining properly.

We couldn't reach the top gutters ourselves, so we called Andy to see about having a professional do it. He drove out in a timely manner to give us an estimate, then within about 1 1/2 weeks of giving us the estimate, they came out to clean (I had called during those 2 weeks of non stop rain so I felt that the time frame was great given the circumstances). The two men who showed up were quick, professional and honest - I asked them about gutter covers and they indicated that, while they do work, they are not maintenance free and someone still has to come out periodically to check them and sweep the junk off the top. Also, my husband was outside and walked right by them while they were cleaning and they stopped to let him pass because of the icky smell, they didn't want to accidently drop any of the junk on him. I intend to just hire Andy for complete gutter cleaning services bi-yearly.

Great! There was one miscommunication and originally Andy rerouted a downspout I was less concerned about, but he came back out and rectified the situation - rerouting the downspout I was more concerned about - right away! My fault for not clearly communicating what I wanted.

I've used them before several times and was happy. This time they disappointed me a bit because they dropped a bunch of crud from the gutter right into a full planter of flowers and left it there, they dropped a bunch of maple seeds into a the gravel meditation garden below the gutter. I had just spent a lot of time cleaning the seeds out of the gravel and they left mud smeared on the walkway. Nothing terrible but it was disappointing. I'm not paying for them to move the landscape waste from one area to another, I'm paying for them to remove it.

They were friendly on the phone. They sent someone out within a couple of days. They cleaned up after themselves and they got it done in a timely manner.

Andy's gutter cleaning services seem to be strong. There are no shortcuts here, Andy and one other guy get on the room and manually clean the gutters. The problem we had was with the downspout installed. Originally, Andy installed the downspout smack, flush in the front of the house. As homeowners, we felt that downspouts facing straight out into the street lower the overall curb appeal of the house. We were hoping for just being able to see the profile of the downspout instead. After several phone calls and exchanges of words, Andy did come out and move the downspout he had installed. However, he did it begrudgingly and without attention to customer service. Hey, we are the customers here....In the end, his attitude did not endear him to us. However, he did finally do the work and the quality is good. Maybe this is what all gutter guys would be like?

He did what he said he would do, and he arrived for the work on time. Their price was good. They were very straightforward.

True to the majority of others that reported on Andy's Custom Gutters, I had absolutely no problems with Andy, or his crew. The period from my original request for an estimate to his clean up and departure was totally without drama, incident or issues. The estimate was more than fair. He told me early on that he was backed up and that it could take awhile before he arrived (only about a month and a half). There were a couple of status calls in the interim, the second of which was that he was coming the next day if that worked for me. Upon arrival Andy and I discussed the job, and made a couple changes to the plan. When the gutters were up, we walked the house again.The job had been completed as I expected. The crew then spent at least an hour just cleaning up the work site of all debris and the old gutters. Yes I would hire him again, and recommend him to anyone that asked.

Things started out well. Andy was responsive and sent me some color samples from which to choose. His contract and accompanying materials were professional looking. When I mailed the contract, I e-mailed him asking him to set up an appointment to do the work when he received it. He didn't do this. Instead, a few days later, I came home to a completed job. He had called and left a message, but I was not home. Since he was in the neighborhood, he came over and did the job anyway. The downspout itself looked fine, and it is solid. The problem is that he attached it to the house with scraps of aluminum instead of the usual straps or brackets (available at Ace Hardware for $0.79 each, please note). When I asked him about this and told him I would like him to use actual, manufactured straps, he became abusive: ### Peggy, I make my own straps so I don't have to buy those kind, This is what I've been doing for 35 years. And most everyone does it the same way. Please don't be ridiculous with me. Sincerely, Andy ### I objected to his language and his condescension and told him so in my next e-mail to him. I offered to send him $150 now, since I didn't want to withhold payment--he did satisfy the letter of the contract, although that part of the job didn't look all that "professional"--and the remaining $50 if he chose to replace the straps. I also offered to send him the full $200 and be done with it. Here is his reply: ### Peggy, I would appreciate it if you sent me what is due and not tell me how to do my job. Everyone trusts my work and judgements [sic] and I would not do anything that is incorrect. I do not need additional headaches in my job and never create them. Who needs it. I am not changing something that does not need to be changed. Sorry Sincerely, Andy ### In the Great Eternal Scheme of Things, downspout straps are not terribly important. I am aware of that. I do take pride in my home, though, and I appreciate craftsmanship. What I didn't like was the disrespect. Insulting your customers is not the best way to conduct a business. In the meantime, I have read some of the comments Angie's List subscribers have left regarding him. He has an A rating overall, which I why I chose him. There are a few people, though, who had bad experiences and gave him an F for exactly the same reasons I am giving him one. He is impetuous. He does things the way he wants, when he wants. He is rude when things don't go the way he thinks they should. I expect that he will leave an unflattering, shall we say, characterization of me, all in capital letters, in rebuttal. (I'm picky. I'm unreasonable. You can't please some people, no matter what you do.) I will let Angie's List readers decide for themselves. I am sorry that it is necessary to leave a negative review. I have had good luck, for the most part, with other businesses I have found on the List.

It went well. It was done in a few days after my call.

Great job. Easy to schedule estimate, project completed when they said it would be completed, at the estimate amount. Prompt and professional.

Andy was prompt in returning my call, came out within a week to look at the job and gave me a price to do the job. We scheduled the job after his vacation and he came out on the day we had arranged. The job was finished within 3 hours and he completely cleaned up after himself. The workmanship is excellent and he even caulked around the base of the door frame to help eliminate a seepage problem.

I called a few companies and Andy's offered the lowest price for what I figure is a somewhat generic service. They had called back quickly to provide the quote and did the work in the promised time frame. They did not leave any kind of mess on the property. Overall, simple with no complaints.

When I called them they were willing to send someone out about two days later. They were very quick and so far seems have done a good job. The price seemed to be okay.

Came the day after we called, cleaned out the gutters, made some recommendations and left invoice in the mailbox. Fast and easy!

We are very satisified that Andy stood by his work and came back to re-attach the downspout.

I had a leak in the upstairs doormer area and felt that I needed gutters there. Andy came out, assessed the area and stated that we should try to seal areas as a solution instead of installing gutters that may not be needed. When he came out he also identified and sealed areas around the chimney. As I do not go onto the roof I would not have known that this was a need until much more work would have been needed. I would hire his company again without hesitation.

He has done a lot work in the neighborhood, and he does a very good job. The whole neighborhood uses him a lot. He is not a very friendly person, but knows what he is doing, and he lets you know too. I trust him and will use him again if I need to.

Another gutter cleaner never showed up by the first snowfall and the gutters were overflowing leaves and debris. After a recent warm-up, the water was coming in the house at different points. I called Andy's Customs Gutter just to ask if he'd put me on a list to clean the gutters in the Spring after the winter thaw. He said he had about 30 people on a list ahead of me, but he'd see what he could do. The next day, he called, said he was in the area, and the gutters were cleaned out on two stories in about an hour. I was impressed by his quick responsiveness.

The price was reasonable. They gave us a window of time when they would be out, which they held to. They were extremely efficient. I will be using them again.

My experience was good. They gave me an estimate, which is what I paid. They came on time and got the work done quickly. They were good about cleaning up too.

Andy is great. His workmanship and professionalism are also great. Because he is a small business operator, his waiting list can be backed up several months. If you need the work done right, make sure to call him sooner rather than later.
