I bought my new furnace from golden seal through Costco and had recently scheduled annual maintenance in Nov 2020. I have been receiving error code 271 on thermostat panel for couple of weeks, so I shared this with the technician. I was told that he is new to HVAC business and has only been taught to do maintenance service and can't help troubleshoot or tell what that error code means. I asked him to look up the error message using the error code on the furnace panel that lists all the error codes, but he still couldn't do anything. He didn't even bother to open the filter cover to check the filter, which they always do during service. I paid $89 for a newbie to come in and Vacuum some dust around the furnace, while I continue to get that error code 271 - Low Press Switch Open. Since I bought my furnace from golden seal and have 10 year warranty on parts, I have to schedule service through them and pay $99 for another trip. I don't mind paying for the service, but why can't hire and send someone experienced who can get the job done the first time. I am regretting buying my furnace from golden seal and would not recommend them to anyone. I am surprised that they are a Costco provider. Find someone else who cares about the work and not just about money.

I had used them for a couple of years and they were good but their pricing was high.. The last time I used them, they said I should consider upgrading to a newer system and offered to upgrade the filter system so I only change the filter once a year. I told them I was not interested in any upgrades but they continued to try to sell me. I will not use them again.

He did a good job. My parents used them and recommended them to me. I pay $14.95 a month for a service plan. I get two free tune-ups a year. One for my furnace and one for my air conditioner.

There was no charge for this service because I have a contract with them. I would give them straight A's. Just one person came to complete the service and it took about a half hour for the work to be completed. They left the area perfectly clean. They keep my furnace running. I have them for both my air conditioner and my heating. My first impression was that I liked them a lot.

They actually service my furnace and air conditioner twice a year. There was not cost. I did have a problem with them last year but they did rectify it and made good on it. The price is compatible, it's good, everything's to expensive. It took them a while to get it straightened out.

We have used Golden Seal since 2012 when they installed our Nest Thermostat. There technicians have been punctual and knowledgable. We had an issue with a leak in our coils forming condensation that leaked onto the motor last year. It was a costly issue to repair, but the team was prompt and communicative through the whole experience.

I have been a customer of Golden Seal since 2005 when I purchased a new furnace and air conditioner. We also have used their annual maintenance plan and both the furnace and air conditioner continue to run as good as new. Their maintenance staff have always been friendly, knowledgeable and very professional. When my 16 year old water heater decided to stop working last week, I called Golden Seal to see if they also sold and installed water heaters. They did and I was referred to Matt Richardson who offered to come to our house the following day. Matt inspected our laundry room and had concerns that the new, larger model water heaters may not fit in our small space. We also wanted to take this opportunity to replace the flooring in the laundry room, but couldn’t be without a water heater long enough to tile the area where the heater would sit. Matt said he would check on water heater sizes for us and think about how we could handle the flooring issue. By the next day Matt had answers for us. Not only did he find a water heater that would fit our space, but went to Home Depot and looked for something that we could use to cover the old tile under the heater. Not finding anything to his satisfaction, he mentioned this to another customer who offered to cut us a piece of marble to perfectly fit under the new water heater and would butt up to our new tile. Matt worked on his own time to find a resolution to our problems. His friendly personality and dedication to customer service was far beyond our expectations. He also came to the installation to make sure we were happy with the final product. The installation team of Victor and Ernesto did an excellent job fitting the new tank in place and making all the new connections look like a custom job. They were always considerate of the cleanliness of our house by laying tarps and covering their shoes. Both my wife and I were extremely happy with the final product, the excellent service and the friendliness of everyone involved. I would highly recommend Golden Seal to anyone for their HVAC needs.

The work was performed well. The price was more than I had expected. They disconnected the ComEd box aimed at preventing brown outs. I didn't think that was right but I was so stunned I didn't say anything.

They tried to tell me I needed a new compressor unit. They tried to say that it was low on refrigerant and the type of refrigerant it took is too hard to find. This one takes R-22. The claim was that R-22 is hard to get. That's not true. R-22 is still available. It's just not as available and the newer refrigerants. It's also a fairly older refrigerant. It's not astronomical in price even though it is a little bit more expensive than the newer refrigerant but it's still available. Basically they lied to me. This is where I had one of those service plans with them so they came to do a little tuneup or whatever. After all that, we went through the whole getting quotes for air conditioning units. Went through a couple of places. I decided, let me have someone else look at it so I called somebody else. They came and looked at it. He said, no, I didn't need anymore refrigerant, all I needed was a capacitor. When he checked the refrigerant, indeed it was a little bit low but was still enough to work.

We called to get our air conditioner serviced.  Quick response and successful service to get us by.  We were well aware that we needed a furnace, but now became aware that it was time for a new air conditioner as well.  Set up an appointment with sales.  Very accommodating to our schedules, very knowledgeable and presented with several options.  We went beyond the recommendation, looking for longevity.  Amazing deal happened to be available.

Installation was done in perfect timing.  The weather cooperated perfectly as we were without air for the day.  While there was a minor issue and they were not able to fully complete the job in a single day, we had air conditioning after the first day.  Very prompt return to complete the work.
