Golden Fence

They did a good job. They were prompt about coming out and doing the estimate. It was a critical situation because I had all of a sudden a gate that was pretty much falling down. Winter was upon us. They followed through and got the job done. I was pretty satisfied. The only thing that I would be critical with was that they post that they replaced for the front fence, it's a white picket fence and he did paint it, but I am going to have to get someone come paint them come spring because theirs just wasn't enough coverage.
It is very difficult to find someone to fix these kinds of fences.

Came out to perform an estimate within 2 days.  Provided an explanation of the work to be done; called JULIE to ensure underground lines wouldn't be hit.  Said he would call to let me know a few days before they came out to do the work; however, his guys just showed up to do the work a few days later.  Not a big problem but it would have been nice to have the heads up.
They were finishing up as I got home from work that evening.  They did a good job - workmanship looks and feels solid, clean up was very good.
He called for payment 2 days later and we were done.
All around a very good experience.

It took a long time to order the fence and when it came they sent the wrong pieces, so I had to wait for the right pieces to come in. The owner never contacted me to tell me when the pieces would be in and he did not even let me know there was a problem. They quality of the work, materials, and the installation team was incredible.

We called several companies in the area via Angie's List.  The bottom line in deciding which to choose was Angie's List of quality, consistent professionalism and price.
Golden Fence won over all because, Eric, the sales rep that came out was spot on with what the cost would be without extra charges. JULIE came out and the inspector for the village. All went pretty well, except . . . Golden Fence got our address wrong when calling JULIE and we had to push the job to the next day.
Then the village messed up and didn't have us written in for an inspection; so we were pushed back another day.  We just wanted the fence repaired and were patient with the process.  Best of all, the fence is no longer wobbly!

They overall experience was excellent. They were punctual, responsive, and professional.

What an AMAZING job this company did with my fence!  It began by them matching, actually lowering their price for the fence when a competitor offered a lower bid.  I ended up going with them for this and due to recommendation from my Realtor.  After originally only wanting to fence about 1/3 of my yard since some of it was done with neighbor's fences already, I changed my mind at least five different times about how much I wanted to fence, where the fence should start, what type of fence I wanted to do, and what the top of it should look like.  However, Eric Jr. was very patient with me and reassured me that I could change my mind as much as I want as long as I keep him posted a few days in advance of when they were putting the fence up.  I was in constant contact with him through phone and email and he always responded promptly and gave me detailed answers or suggestions.  I have two dogs of whom I am very overprotective and I stated this many times to let them know that this fence was for my dog's safety, this was number one priority.  Eric wrote this on the contract and made sure the workers knew this as well.  They made sure there were absolutely no gaps and that the posts and fence itself were as close to the ground as possible.  When I saw the fence completed, I was beyond thrilled!   I mean, it was better than I had ever imagined.  After having a lot of other tough things happen with my new house this week, this was the one huge positive.  Thanks Golden Fence!

They were punctual, professional, great job, cleanup.

Overall, the work was great. They were very professional and on time. They made sure that everything was done to my liking. The owner, Eric, was very involved, and he came out and did the quote himself. He called me to follow up to make sure I was happy with everything. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

Eric Aguilar was very responsive on all phone calls and appointments. Hugo and his installation team had to be very careful because of the flower gardens on both sides of the fence line, and they were.  We are very pleased the way the fence looks and we would be happy to reccommend this company to anyone.
Golden Fence was was able to replace and haul away our old fence in a timely manner.  The work site was also left very clean.

We called for an estimate and set a time and date  in the morning to look over the damage. The person never showed up. We needed to leave at a certain time. When we returned, there was a message on our machine, over an hour and a half past the appointment time, saying that he could not make it and to call him. We never called back.

The pricing was, by far, the least expensive estimate we received on the project, hundreds of dollars less than other bids. For the most part the project went well, but we did have the following minor issues. 1. Timeline Communication: Most of the "wait time" was related to getting the permits and overall, the delays weren't bad for a construction project. Our issue is that, even after asking to be informed on the schedule, we never heard about changes in advance were always the ones who had to call to find out when the job was going to be done. When the work actually began, the crew arrived over an hour later than we were told. The foreman's "everything will be done today" was definitely over-optimistic; and a materials shortage spilled things over to a third day. 2. Quality of work: For the most part, this was very good...until it came time to cut the scalloped curves in the top. Very few of these cuts were made cleanly at the point nearest the post. Out of 20 posts, I counted at least 10 places where the cuts stopped short, with a 1/2"-3/4" broken stub that I intend to go back and clean up with a handsaw. The majority of the remaining cuts didn't stop soon enough, and cut into the post. I don't know if this is an unrealistic expectation of quality, but it was the key factor in changing our opinion from: "gee, what a great bargain!" to "eh...well, ... at least we saved a lot of money on it." It isn't a glaring error and from a distance, it's not noticeable. But it did seem a shame to think that an extra half-hour-or-so of care and effort would have pushed the whole project to an enthusiastic "A" rating. It's also probably worth noting that, when this was shown to the manager, he was quite helpful at explaining which step of the project resulted in the cuts into the posts (as if it wasn't obvious) but never seemed to even briefly consider that his workers could have (or should have) been more careful with their craftsmanship. 3. Picky Details: one of the gates isn't quite where we expected it to be and we probably would have hinged another gate on the opposite side. These details weren't explicitly spelled out in the project sketches, so I can't really complain about the discrepancies, but I would advise that any potential customers clearly define these details in advance and confirm them with the work crew prior to installation.

Eric, the owner of the company, is a very warm, honest and reasonable man. He is a pleasure to deal with and will do anything in his power to accommodate you, both before and after the sale. I am a very picky consumer and somewhat of a pain in the but to deal with. Eric worked with me on all issues; he kept sending his crew back to make minor adjustment to my fence until I was 100% satisfied. He never had an attitude and always treated me like a long time friend and was happy to hear from on every call. Use this company, you will be very happy!! They return calls and will have their crew at your house on time every time to do their excellent work. His crew is also a pleasure to work with. They left the work site cleaner than it was before the started.
