I looked at the Generac list of approved contractors and matched that with the AngiesList high rankings. Saturn was one of the quotes I got. They were well priced and showed me more of how the layout of the generator and piping would go than the other bidder. Plus, they were very close to me if they needed to run for parts. The owner was here for the quote and then again for the installation.
They set up the NICOR check out and scheduled as soon as I had the meter upgrade. They sent me an installation-day schedule so I knew what to expect. The job went well. It works well. I had a whole house unit with an outside controller/switchover unit installed so there was very little inside work. Our power was only off for a short time. I had a surge suppressor added to the house wiring at the same time.
I took their service contracts, which I normally avoid, because this unit needs oil changes and such, and I want to keep the engine in good shape as long as possible.
They are very busy since we've had those long outages, so it is still a good idea to keep in touch with them about chasing the village for  permits, etc. I wanted the unit installed before I took a vacation, and they were able to accommodate that easily.
I help maintain another property, and I would use Saturn if I had a generator put in there.

They did a great job and they are in high demand. It is about a months wait to get on their schedule. They know their stuff and they did it clean. They seem to be experts in generators.

I found Saturn Electric on Angie's over a year ago and used them to do some electrical service upgrades at my home.  At that time I was very satisfied and put them on my personal list of preferred local services.
After the horrible summer of 2011 & 2012 and all the associated power outages, I did research on purchasing a ?standby generator?
for my property, which required additional upgrades as well for proper installation.  Saturn supplied all the knowledge, reference material, and options available for an informed purchase, without the slightest bit of pressure to buy ? in fact ?shopping around? was encouraged.
Installation was prompt, professional and better than I expected.  I always seem to have to do some clean up or fit-and-finish after a contractor has finished and left ? not in this case.
I have since found that generator installation is a very
large percentage of Saturn Electric?s core business, and it shows.  Even the local inspectors which came to verify the work done was to code, commented on the quality of the work done & the
attention to detail shown.
Everyone I have spoken to or met from Saturn Electric has been top-notch, friendly & accommodating.  I am recommending them to my family & friends, and will use them again when needed.

We highly recommend Saturn Electric.  After three power outages in July, we decided it was time to bite the bullet and buy a stand-by generator.  After doing some very extensive research, we selected three electric companies to advise us and to give an estimate for the generator and installation.  Saturn was competitively priced, but the real reason we chose them was the excellent and thorough professional advice George (the owner and our first contact with Saturn) gave us.
We especially appreciated the fact that George recommended a gas survey as the first step.  He did not want us to have an unexpected cost for a larger gas line after the generator was already installed.  Saturn took care of the gas survey (we needed a new regulator), they applied for the village permit, and Rick, the project manager, was with us for the inspection.  Saturn was aware of our village?s strict codes and took care to meet them at a very fair price to us.  Our town?s inspector told us that out of five inspections that day, ours was the only one to pass on the first visit.
Saturn?s installers were excellent.  They knew what they were doing and did it well.  They were always polite and left no mess for us to clean up.  As promised, they completed the installation in one day.
We are very happy to recommend Saturn Electric to anyone.

I had a whole house generator installed about one year ago.  I discovered after one year that the generator was too close to the house and the gas pipe used during the original installation was too small and not in accordance with manufacturer specifications.  I called Saturn Electric and asked for a bid to move the generator so that it would be positioned properly.
Saturn Electric is the best contractor experience I have ever had.  They are professional, efficient, cost effective, and a pleasure to work with.  They plan out the job ahead of time so that there are no surprises.  They know electrical work, gas piping work, and generators.  I would recommend using Saturn for any generator work (or electrical).  I learned the hard way.  Do not kid yourself -- a generator installation requires someone who understands the whole process -- go with Saturn and you will not be unahppy.  You can rest-assured that your installation will meet all code requirements and all manufacturer specifications.

Service/secretary was contacted for potential quotation of service of 36Kilowatt automatic standby generator service at a small commercial building. Was told that company "was running behind" but then told that someone named George would personally "contact me in 7 days." That never happend despite 24 mobile and office numbers given.

It was a pleasure working with Saturn Electrical. Company president George Schembari came to our house, assessed our needs, and laid out several price/coverage options. He was onsite to supervise the installation. The crew was professional and friendly and the quality of the work was outstanding. We couldn't be more pleased. We give Saturn our highest recommendation.

On Nov 24, 2011 the day before Thanksgiving, I decided I needed a qualified electrician to resolve a problem of blinking lights throughout our house that started the day before.

As I thought, several of the other electrical companies I called either answered with voicemail or couldn?t help me until the following week.   The lady who answered the Saturn phone also told me they didn?t have an opening until next week but understood the need to get the problem resolved and told me she?d talk with her boss.  Fifteen minutes later she called me back and said that they could have an electrician stop by after 11 AM.

The electrician, Jerry, was great.  He kept looking and testing until he was able to resolve the problem, not wasting time, but really checking.  He was also very respectful of our home, always putting on booties before coming in etc.

I?m not sure how to rate the price.  Saturn charges $120 for the first hour and $80 each additional hour.  My cost was $215, $200 labor, $15 for parts, a 60amp breaker.

I would recommend Saturn and Jerry to my friends and family.

We contacted Saturn Electrical Services in July to inquire regarding a stand-by generator.  George came to our house to assess our needs.  He e-mailed a proposal with a couple of different options and the associated costs.  From the start of the relationship through the installation communication was excellent and there were no surprises.

We had the 17KW Generac unit installed and we are very impressed with the installation.  The technicians were on time, finished the job an hour earlier than expected, and cleaned the work site thoroughly.  About an hour after the technicians left, Ryan came to review the features and operations of the unit.  Ryan was very thorough and repeatedly asked us if we had any questions.

I really didn?t know what to expect when purchasing a generator but George kept us in the loop on everything.  We indicated that we would get a building and electrical permit from the city.  George sent us documentation and specification sheets to bring to City Hall when I applied for the permit.  George also told us to bring a plat of survey.  Applying for the permit was a slam dunk.  There was absolutely no issue at all.  George also recommended requesting the final inspection the day of the installation while Saturn was still there.  The electrical inspector showed up as scheduled, spent 10 minutes checking the installation and signed off on the job.  (He even mentioned that he was familiar with Saturn?s work.)

I had done my homework on stand-by generators and already knew that I wanted a Generac system.  The second decision was which contractor to choose for the purchase and installation.  Saturn Electrical Service is a top-notch firm that offers great communication and service.  It was great making such a major purchase and not having any surprises along the way.

My air conditioner kept tripping the circuit breaker. I called Saturn and they were able to respond quicker than expected. The electrician arrived on time and was courteous, professional and had me up and running in minutes. A few days later a letter arrived from Saturn thanking me for allowing them to handle my business. Considering that what for them was such a minor job, this was a nice touch and made me feel like a valued customer. I wouldn't hesitate using Saturn again.

Do have a list of circuits you want the generator to electrify when com ed falls short.

Do be home when the electric work is being done.  The circuitry in your home may be complicated and the technician may have to ask questions.  Also you can be sure that way to check and be sure that the proper circuits were backed up.

Do save money by changing your own oil.  George gives you instructions.

Very courteous and professional
Answered any and all questions
Found the problem immediately, within five minutes
The original main circuit breaker installed when the house was built was installed incorrectly
He shut down the power from the outside and made the repair
Since he was at the house I also asked him to install a bathroom light fixture

Woke up at 7 am and 20 yr old furnace was not working. Called Kelly at Air Repair and spoke to his wife. Tess was able to on a Sunday get Kelly to round up a helper and was at my home by 11 am. They were there all day and did not finish the job until 7 pm. I was going on a business trip the next day so they were a lifesaver as my wife was a little unnerved thinking she would have to deal with this while I was out of town. After the job, Tess mailed me all the warranties and paperwork. The whole experience was wonderful, although it could have been a disaster when it comes to nerves. Two other placed I called said they could not do the work on a Sunday. I would recommend Air Repair for replacement and service calls.

Overall the estimate was agreeable and George was very flexible in setting up the install date. They arrived ontime and completed the job in a timely manner. I was and am very happy with the job done. I can't wait for the power to go off again, but it probably won't ever happen again.

Jerry was the electrician who did the job for us. He came a few minutes before the appointed time (Yeah, Jerry!) He went right to work, wore shoe covers and was neat and kept up with clean-up. 3 of the new fixtures required major assembly which he did without a roll of the eye or a sigh. He even took the empty boxes with him when he left. It was all in all a very good experience and we'll certainly use them again.

I found Air Repair on Craigslist, I called on Friday to schedule an appointment for Tuesday. My furnace quit Sunday night. Kelly showed up on time, went right to work, explained everything to me, had me up and running in no time! Told me that the furnace was in good condition for it's age. I highly recommend Air Repair for all your heating and air conditioning needs!

George Schembari came out to provide a quote. I was also interested in upgrading the electrical panel in order to retrofit the house with A/C. He explained that the stand-by generator would allow me to move some circuits off the main panel and on to the side panel that would be run by the generator during an outage. He explained his choice of manufacturers and also asked me why I wanted to do this - perhaps to make sure he understood exactly what I was expecting from this generator - which was to run the well pump and the basement ejector pump during an outage so I could have water ... and any extra circuits would be great! I also wanted a "Whole - House" surge protector installed and we also discussed that equipment. He provided a quote with two different size options for the generator as well as the surge protector. I had him come back to discuss the installation with my contractor friend in order to try to figure out the best location and routing because my electric panel and natural gas lines are on opposite sides of the house (it figures ...). He took the time to make sure he had evaluated all the options and provided the final detailed quote - bottom line: $4935 for the generator and installation, $289 for the surge protector and installation. I received an installation checklist a couple days prior to the installation - complete with a time line of when the gas and electric service would be turned off and back on. On installation day, the crew arrived and George delivered the equipment and walked through the job with the crew. He took off and the guys took over - and completed ahead of schedule ... except the generator didn't want to run and they guys were frustrated. They said they were heading out but someone else would come and get it started. I don't remember his name, but he called to confirm that he was coming and showed up shortly afterward. It took him about 10 minutes to add a shim and run the generator through the start-up test. Then he gave a "tour" of the equipment, thoroughly reviewed the owner's manual with me, and answered all questions. All that was left was for my contractor friend to patch and paint the drywall by the electric panel. Five weeks later (I think that was my reminder to submit this report), we had a 10 hour power outage and everything worked perfectly!

George was very efficient, he came out for a quote and was able to complete the work in 1 day the next week. When he found out that the code for our area was different for some of the changes he made, he sent out an electrician right away to make the corrections before the village inspector came. Overall a great experience!
