The response time was quick after we called and selected Rain Drain. The two individuals who put up the seamless gutters were very quick and proficient. We asked for the drain spouts to be wrap around to the back of each garage so that when looking at the garages, you would not see the down spouts. The work looks to be top notch. The gutters have handled heavy rain with ease. The leaves blow right off the "leaf relief" system so there are no "clogged" gutters this fall. We are please with the work.
Description of Work: We had gutters put on our two new garages. These gutters had the "leaf relief" system - which stops the leaves from going into the gutters.

It went OK. I had some unexpected damage to my lawn due to the heat and the tarps they laid on the ground. I was upset at first but understood. I was just shocked when I first seen the grass completely burned and brown. Had some other issues with placement of a roof ventilator and roof vents . The placement was not communicated to the proper persons and was misplaced and not installed per the manufacturer installation guide. After several discussions they came out and relocated the fan and repaired the opening from where it was removed. The quality of work overall seemed pretty good. The installation passed the local building inspections with no issues.

Because of a flooded basement I requested 4" downspouts and extensions for a rental property to minimize future problems.. The quoter/installer went to the home and quoted as I asked. I approved the quote and when the work was done I scheduled back fill for the perimeter of the house. I was then called saying that I really needed new gutters also. This upset me because, it seems logical to me, that he should have checked the gutters when he was quoting the downspouts and extensions. I let it go, gave the OK for gutters and put my dirt hauler on hold. The work was done today and my renter complained that a proper clean up was not done. I let this go also. The installer (who told me that he did the installation alone (surprising) dropped the bill off at my house. Today, the same day as I received the bill, I called to pay my bill with Visa and was told that I would be charged 3%. When I responded that his website said they took Visa but didn't mention any fee, the person I talked to told me that everyone does it. I understand that many companies do, but not all, but he became argumentative. When I mentioned that I had done business with him before at another rental home he started laughing. (I don't know why.) I then said "never mind, I'll pay by check" and hung up. He then called back but I let it go to voicemail. The voicemail was still argumentative saying that because I knew the downspouts were bad (they weren't), I was wasting his time. (I don't understand the logic.) He also brought up the Visa fee again. Needless to say, it was an upsetting experience and I will never do business with Rain Drain again. Let me add, that I always post to Angie's List for very good and very bad service. Fortunately, I've had mostly good service from other contractors. June 4... I have not yet paid my bill (on my list for tomorrow) but... I just received another nasty call saying that he had grounds to sue me for slander because I lied in my review. I just reviewed it and still find it to be truthful. When he kept on with his tirade I hung up. He called again and I let it go to email. The message was very threatening. If he doesn't receive payment within 48 hours he will put a lien on my house. This whole experience has me very concerned for my personal safety. Glad I've saved the voicemails.
