Old World Brick Paving is a family-owned and operated Brick paving business for over 30 years. 100% of our business is brick paving so we are considered experts in the industry. We are a certified ICPI (Interlocking concrete pavement Institute) and Unilock, Belgard, Paveloc, contractor. We strive to meet and exceed Unilock, ICPI and local standards and have been in brick paving business since 1990. We are also an A+ rated company on the BBB. We work with our own employee staff we do not subcontract. Our employees are skilled craftsman and are properly trained in the brick paving /hardscape field. We will not sacrifice our quality by employing unskilled softscape employees. We also work with our customers to educate them in the installation process from start to finish. "Dear Sir, we never gave you a written quote for your project. We only talked over the phone, so to compare our company to any other is not accurate, nor is it a legitimate review. You also live in [Removed member information] which is way out of our range for estimates which you were also told when you first called in. There for you would be charged a estimate fee to go to some where we don’t go. If you look at our reviews from our legitimate customers we have dealt with over the past 25 years we strive for excellence in our field of work. His crew (Enrique, Miguel and Jose) worked very hard . They were always very courteous, professional and friendly. They cleaned up the area after each phase - deck and shrub removal, regrading with dirt, installing the patio and even laid fresh sod around the patio and area near the gate where they corrected the drainage. Everything was done neatly and in a timely manner. Overall they did a great job with everything!
We would highly recommend Old World Brick Paving. Frank is very knowledgeable about the product and installation requirements as well as design. He always responded quickly to any of our questions or concerns. His crew does a great job! Our patio looks fantastic!
(Our only negative comment would be regarding the Unilock bricks. There are still several with efflorescence which hopefully will dissolve soon., but overall the Unilock Brick Pavers are beautiful.)
I received three estimates, and they were the priciest, but definitely made the best impression. Would use them again, but hopefully won't have to do so!
I'm very pleased with the results. They also helped me with the village permit process. They came when they promised & completed the job as promptly as the weather allowed. When Frank came to do the estimate, he was the only contractor who explained the process and the type and importance of the foundation to me. This gave me confidence that he knew what he was doing. The results have proved that. I would certainly recommend Old World Brick Paving and use them again.

In regards to the design rendering, we would have been happy to provide you with one. When Frank and I met with you and your husband the second time, we did actually spray the physical dimensions of our proposed design into your yard to give you both a realistic idea of how it would fit within the space. This design differed from what we had initially discussed during our first meeting. Frank, your husband and I did discuss the pros and cons of the graphic designs at that point and we were under the impression that the physical dimensions we sprayed in were sufficient to give both of you a good idea of the proposed layout. Again, we would have been happy to have provided a design drawing in addition if we had known that you were still interested in receiving one. It is very hard to get an accurate comparison between us and our competitors due to our excavation and installation practices as well as the high quality of materials we utilize for our customer’s projects from top to bottom. This is why we spend so much time informing our potential clientele so they can identify the differences and to ensure that their money is being spent on the best possible quality materials and installation methods to ensure the longevity of the project. In 23 years of doing business we have never had a single complaint regarding our quality of installation due to the uncompromising standards we utilize as well as the highly trained staff that we employ for our projects. His overall presentation and willingness to spend time with us during the quote phase made the biggest difference. He had a tablet that showed his work and he also relayed stories of his past work - we knew we were not dealing with a rookie or an inexperienced company.
Frank also was very upfront about our obligations after we had committed - we worked with the village to get the permits and this was also reassuring to us that he wasn't willing to cut corners. Frank was always available via cell phone and very responsive throughout the process. Everything he promised (that he would be there on every job, that our job would only take 2 days - it did) was done right and went very smooth.
While the work was going on, Frank was able to keep us up to date on the progress and remaining work to be done. He also texted us pictures of the progress which was very helpful. Highly recommend - we are extremely happy with the work and would definitely use them again for our other projects!
They started the job even faster they promised (They even got the town permits for the project, which was very nice of them ). Owner Frank would come out every day and check how the project was going along and ensured that all details were fully understood by the everyone on site. It was a pleasure to deal with Frank.
I already have couple other projects in mind for this year and I will definitely use OLD WORLD BRICK PAVING SERVICES.
We got quotes from three highly rated Angies List providers and Frank's was a hair higher than the others but he had explained his process and we felt he was giving us a better-engineered product so we went with his company.
One thing that surprised me about all the quotes we got is that nobody shared a sketch of the work to be done, so I did my own to be sure we were all on the same page and that we had it to refer to so we all knew what was agreed to. I recommend that you do this regardless of which contractor you hire.
Anyway, the work was absolutely beautiful. We had no idea how much this would improve our house's appearance. We went with brick over the stoop as well as brick for the walks, and I highly recommend that brick walks need brick stoops as well. Frank also elevated our back path so we could enter our garage without a step. This was a nice plus.
Regardless of who you choose I recommend that you buy a box of shoe covers before the work starts. It is unavoidable, they have to excavate in order to put down the gravel, so for a day or two your path will be dirt. Shoe covers kept the sneakers clean and kept me from tracking dirt into the house. Same for the couple of days it is gravel. Gravel sticks to sneakers and the shoe covers kept me from tracking gravel into the house.
So in closing I would say Frank's quality is definitely worth a reasonable premium. The work was really good. One of my neighbors (kiddingly) accused me of running up the property taxes for our whole neighborhood because our walk looks so good.
