Midwest did a fantastic job from the sales staff, to the measurement, to the cutting and installation. The sales staff was very knowledgeable and helpful, The job was a precision measurement, cut, and install. Midwest staff was professional, and competed the measurement and install in a timely manner and met the dates when they said they would. There were four men in our home removing the old marble slab and bringing in the new quartz. I was worried about possible damage to an existing wall mirror that sat practically on top of the old counter during removal in install. The men were terrific and didn't harm the mirror or damage any walls in the process. We couldn't believe how precise the measurement was and the cutting of the slab. The new counter fit like a glove. Midwest did our kitchen granite slab in May of 2010. It was a huge job. They did an excellent job. That's why we went back to them with our bathroom remodel. We would highly recommend Midwest.

Having said all that, we found the customer service to be responsive and helpful. And I must mention Leo, who came back out after our floor installer cracked a piece of granite in front of the cooktop - and honestly, you cannot see any of the original damage after his repair. Phenomenal!

After the installers arrived I showed them the area where our eat out kitchen is.  I checked on them several times to make sure that everything is going Ok.  I also brought them waters.
They installed our counter top completely wrong!  They did not line up the openings for the the grill, sink, side burner etc. Also, granite overhang was off (shorter on one side and longer on the other one).  The installers could have asked me questions if they had any, but yet they just wanted to be done with the job ASAP.
When my husband got home he immediately called Midwest Stone.  They did send installers back as soon as they could, but even after they admitted to their mistake, they said that there is nothing to be done since the counter-top is already glued on.  The only suggestion that they offered was to break the stone and do it all over at a completely new expense. I could not believe what I was hearing!  We had to hire another contractor who had to fix their mistakes at OUR EXPENSE! Midwest Stone could have done the same if they wanted to!!!  It's a shame that they took such advantage of us!

Midwest Stone clearly has the best selection of granite and other counter materials in the area.  I have seen their name on material in other warehouses.  Plus seeing full size slabs is much better than little 4 inch squares.  They let you select the slab and also where you want the cuts made.  This means you have a chance to get the color streak where you want it.  the installaton was good and professional.
My only complaint is that the sales staff can come off as rude but I think that it is more a function of not having enough staff at times.  I went to the facility several times and had to wait a long time to get help.  They do not keep track of who arrives when - and at least one time a pushy customer cut in front of several of us waiting patiently.  That is costing you  business - because the other potential customer left in a huff.  And because it gets very busy at times - the staff appears to get irritated quickly.
But I would overlook the sales staff problems and use them again.  This is actually the second time we used them for a granite counter.

While there was a mistake in the shop, they replaced the back splash immediately.
Their price was not the cheapest, the quality of the product and service yields a best value.

Everyone we worked with at Midwest Stone was knowledgeable and helpful, from those who helped us select and order the stone to the professionals who installed it.  The installation was accomplished in two days, with minimum disruption and complete professionalism. Our concerns about matching the stone pieces were favorably answered.  We highly recommend  this vendor.

The sales team was excellent and gave us the best deal possible.  The measuring was excellent as well and on time.  Delivery and installation was on time and they did a great job as well.  They also treated all of the new product, cleaned up and were courteous throughout the entire day of install.

We went to their store with granite slabs stored outside. Great selection and we found a smaller slab that had just the look we wanted and a very reasonable price. It was a very busy day so we had to wait a while to see a sales person but once we saw one, our sales person Flora did not rush us and we were able to go through all of the details which involved choosing types of edging, sealing of surface etc. They did not push hard for adding extras that would have added to the cost. I was building the island myself and needed additional information on how i needed to have the island constructed so that it could support the weight of island and an overhang. One of their installers called back right away and provided the information I needed. One guy came out and was on time for a final measurement which ended up as 54 x 34. The installers were also on time and were in and out very quickly.
There was a delay between when we ordered the granite (3/22/14) and when it was installed (4/17/14) which was reasonable since the measurements are confirmed in house and the granite is cut to order.
We have been very happy with the granite counter top. We recommended Midwest Stone to our Daughter and Son-in-law when they renovated there kitchen just before Christmas and they were very happy with the service, price, and quality with their full kitchen counter tops.

They have a great selection and were very helpful giving us advice on colors, types of stone.  They have alot of remnant pieces as well that works for smaller kitchens like we had.  Prices were very competitive and cheaper than big box store package prices with our cabinets.
Install went perfectly, very professional, cleaned up after done.
We have referred them to family and friends.

Initial contact was via email and sales rep was responsive.  Went to their store and was handed a clip board and sent out alone to look at granite slabs.  Explanation was not clear. Upon returning, waited for quite a while before a different sales rep spoke to me.  She was able to answer a few questions but varied on pricing trying to upsell. One woman was very nice and walked around with her clients explaining a lot. Felt that the overall customer service was very poor and they couldn't be bothered to wait on me.

We visited Midwest Stone because of an ad we saw in a local paper.    Their selection is fairly large and they made it very easy price and buy because of their coding system.   We gave them our dimensions  (60" and 30") and a few minutes later we were given pricing for each grade on their lot.   This was great as it was easy to make a selection and know what the price was going to be.   Ordering was a piece of cake.   They scheduled a measuring appointment and the person showed up within the time and date stated.   We were impressed with how closely they measured making sure to double check the measurements and getting  a template for the sinks to cut the stone.   All was good.    When our bathroom remodel was ready for stone we called and scheduled our install.   We were given a date a few weeks out which seemed pretty long, but it is what it is.
Now things fall apart with this company.
The installers showed up on time and on the date given by Midwest stone.   They installed the 60" vanity and back splash but the 30' inch was cut the wrong size!   (We find this amazing since the person that measured took detailed measurements and drawings). After the installers left , (who were very nice and professional), we noticed a 4" crack from the front of the counter top to the sink.    While the crack was hard to see because of the Marble grains, it was certainly something easily noticed.   Called Midwest Stone multiple times and never received a call back.   We finally got a hold of our salesperson who apparently hadn't received our message.    Either way, they rescheduled for the following week to come back with the correct counter top and take a look at the crack.
Midwest Stone comes back to install wrongly cut 30" cabinet.   Unfortunately, they again cut it wrong!!!!     The crack in the other counter top was 'patched' with some type of epoxy.   Told they would sand it out when they come back with the 3rd 30' counter top.
Back for the 3rd time!    (Take off work for the 3rd time:  too bad it costs the customer to take off work for their mistakes)
Yep, this time the 30" was mostly the right cut.   (The original measure person measured the angles of the corners so there wouldn't be any gaps.   Maybe the original measurements were lost on the 3rd cut because it was not squarely cut.     The back splash looks horrible with numerous cracks along the edge and the finish on the counter top is not top notch.  While the installers were very nice and professional, we find it hard that they apparently just install even if the product is not top notch.  (IE:  the edge of the back splash and bad finish on the 3rd counter top.)   There must be no quality check on the material they send out.   Regarding the 60' counter top with the crack:  They sanded it out.
Can you still see the crack?  Yes.
Are we upset,?  Yes.
Did they give us a discount on the crack?  Yes, 10%
Will we buy from Midwest Stone again?  No
Will we recommend them?  No

Midwest Stone installed the countertops.  The installers had to have known the condition of the edges.  We called our salesperson, Tina and  made her aware of the bad condition of the edges.  We asked for them to be repaired.  Tina said they would not come to our home to see the problem with the counter tops nor fix the edges of the counter tops unless we paid additional money.  We   will  not pay extra money for granite countertops that were not properly prepared before installation.    Will not use them again nor refer them to anyone.
