The workmanship was second to none, All walls are squared and even and smooth. Edges are perfect. Painting was excellent with multiple coats on the trim so it pops. If there were any issues that I discovered were not as hoped, Bart and his team made the changes to my satisfaction. I knew the project would work well as Andy would tell me whatever you want is what we want because we want you to be happy.
Now just so you do not think I am a friend or relative of Bart after this glowing review, I am not. I found him by searching for A grade contractors and awarded him the job after his visit and detailed proposal. He was very professional and responsive to my questions and concerns which I was looking for. I did not want to have to hope my expectations were met because they were outlined and easily monitored via the detail proposal. Even when I had second thoughts on a vanity or light fixture as the project progressed, Andy and Bart would give me time to rethink and change my mind or a plumbing fixture if necessary. Lastly, I would also like to compliment the office coordinator, Adrian, for his clear and courteous communication. I procrastinated to start this project but would do another one without even hesitating with Bart and his Team.

We were nothing but pleased with how the process went!! Bart was professional and honest from day one. While his estimate did not come in the lowest, we chose to use Bart's Remodeling & Construction because of the detail and care we felt they put into helping us plan our project. He gave us a budget for materials and we were able to shop within that budget to select the finishes we wanted. What we really appreciated was how Bart set this budget within our total estimate so we were able to get the entire scope of the cost right away (other companies did not give us a budget estimate from the start for tile, toilet, etc). Since we do not have a garage, we truly needed to maximize the storage space in our basement. Bart had great ideas for adding closets and making the small space functional for us.
When the work started, the crew was punctual and cleaned up each day after work. Their tools were back in the zipped bags, the floor was swept, trash was taken out, and materials were neatly stacked when they left for the day. As it progressed, the questions we had were immediately addressed. Bart even came personally before the work started to meet with us and clarify an issue. He was extremely open to our ideas and truly did want to make sure we were satisfied. The old construction that was previously in the space was updated and cleaned up to be up to code. Tile patterns were even drawn on the wall in the shower to be sure it was placed where we wanted.
The project was finished about 2 weeks ahead of their original timeline and it looks incredible!! Everything from the shower to the paint is done with nothing but excellence. We were able to submit a list of things we wanted fixed and only had one very minor item in the entire basement that was fixed immediately. We spend so much time now in our basement and can't believe we have lived so long without it finished. Trusting Bart with this big investment in our home was a wonderful decision. We knew that Bart's team had our best interests in mind and wanted the basement to be as wonderful as we did! We will be using Bart's Remodeling & Construction for future projects in our home and highly recommend this team to anyone.

Bart on Angie's list while in the process of house hunting, knowing that we may
need to do upgrades. Once we found the house, we were fortunate to get a positive referral of Bart from a work colleague. Before any agreement was signed, Bart reviewed the building inspector?s notes and gave us an estimate which we used to negotiate the purchase price. We closed on the house in late June and even though Bart had multiple jobs in process, he fit us into his
schedule. The only schedule disruptions and delays were due to all the Village inspections and permit requirements. Bart is very responsive to any and all questions. He answers both his emails and phone messages in a very timely fashion. When issues came up, he always worked with us to resolve them. Bart also instructed his vendors to allow us to buy material and fixtures (which he picked up and delivered) at his contractor discount. He is very committed to getting things right. It?s rare to find someone that is so trustworthy. Absolutely would work with Bart again and highly recommend him.

Bart had come over to our house two years ago when we initially looked into renovating our basement. At the time, we had three contractors in and Bart stood out primarily because 1) of his price and 2) while we had some ideas about what we wanted to do, he wasn't afraid to offer his suggestions. My wife and I both liked him and while we put the project on hold at the time, we said to ourselves that we would absolutely circle back with him when the time was right.
Fast forward to this past summer (2015), we decided that we wanted to get a lot of work done. We ended up renovating the basement (down to the studs) and we also ended up re-doing our kitchen (down to the studs, but no major plumbing/piping changes) as well as a small reconfiguration in our master bedroom and bathroom. Bart and his partner, Adrian, were very easy to work with and did an awesome job of explaining everything that would need to take place and when they would take place. This was very important for my wife and I because we had just come off of a terrible experience with another general contractor that we used for another project on the house.
Bart was very clear about the scope of the projects and the timelines. My wife and I both thought the timelines would be tough to stick to, but Bart and his team did it! They were very open and communicated everything to us as things were progressing. Specifically, one his teammates, Andrew, was a pleasure to work with. He is very talented in multiple facets and was in a great mood just about every day. When issues did come up, Andrew kept his cool and figured out solutions for any change the project threw at him.
We can't say enough good things about Bart's Remodeling! My threshold to award someone an "excellent" rating is:
- from a pricing standpoint, you are very competitive or slightly better than competitive
- you say what you're going to do and you actually do it
- you say how long it's going to take and you hit the deadline
- you are an excellent communicator
