Stuart Nyberg has done roofing for us in the past. I discovered a water stain on an upstairs ceiling and despite being incredibly busy he came out to take a look and diagnosed a leaky chimney. He fit us in and took care of it within the next week, and the price was quite reasonable. Honest, reliable, reasonably priced, and a person with professional integrity. Highly recommended for roofs and gutters too. He may not be the cheapest estimate you get (he certainly is not the most expensive) but the work is solid and he stands behind it. You get what you pay for.

Great work Kept site clean Done quickly

I am a small time real estate investor and have hired many tradesmen throughout the years. Only three times in my life have I been 100% satisfied with a job. Two of those three times were when I hired Nyberg exteriors. (The other was when I hired a friend of mine to rewire a building) Nybery put a new roof on my English tudor home in Prospect Heights many years ago. It was a very complex roof with many peaks and valleys and very steep. I can't imagine anyone doing a better job than Nyberg did. When I sold the house 15 or 20 years later, the roof was still in perfect condition and it still looked brand new. About a year ago I needed a new roof on my Northbrook house. I am happy to say they are still every bit as good as they were all those years ago. I would tell anyone, you cannot find a better roofer than Nyberg. Amazingly their prices were very reasonable also.

Fantastic, crew did a great job, and kept everything clean and tidy. Also, after the job was done didn't find any nails or debris on the ground. Great work.

In May 2018, we hired Nyberg Exteriors to fix our roof after we had issues with ice damming and resulting interior water damage. (They had not done the original roof work.) We hired Nyberg and paid them $8,600 to fix the roof. Once that was done, we had a different contractor fix the interior drywall damage. We thought all was well and felt that they were professional and honest. I would have given them a 5-star review at that point. Fast forward to a few weeks ago when the snow melted. We had water pouring through our walls and ceilings, just as it had done prior to Nyberg fixing our roof. It destroyed all of the repair internal repair work we had completed and ruined our ceilings in two room. We contacted Nyberg Exteriors as they provided a 1yr warranty on their work. We foolishly thought they would honor their warranty and fix our roof, plus pay for the resulting interior damage. We wanted to give them an opportunity to make it right. Boy, were we wrong in thinking that they would do anything to honor their obligations. They refused to take responsibility for the damage, saying it had nothing to do with their work and was an act of God. Give me a break - this is the *precise* thing we paid you $8,600 to fix and you didn't fix it! We gave them yet another chance to do the right thing here and they still refuse. Turns out they sub-contracted out the work and won't stand by any of it, even though they cashed our check. Please beware of this business - they are not the honest, decent humans they hold themselves out to be. Quite sad, really. (The attached picture shows just a portion of the interior damage caused by Nyberg's inferior work.)

Everything went well. From coming out to do the estimate to having the work done. The roof was done in one day, came back another day to do the gutter and downspout. Cleaned up everything. Great job.

From the initial and follow up meetings, through the job completion, Mr. Nyberg was professional, punctual and completely up front about all costs. I was given plenty of time to make decisions and information on price options for various grades of shingles. I had a lot of questions and he took the time to answer and explain them all. He was very flexible to my work schedule. Luck gave us good weather so job completion was extremely fast. Home was done first then garage. Each member of the crew was polite and efficient. Each night ground areas were cleaned and any exposed roof was secured safely in case of rain. His crew arrived exactly as scheduled, on time and protective of my yard. I live on a corner lot so there was a large area to cover. The day after completion I mowed grass and went over entire yard. I did not find enough tiny pieces to even fill my front pants pocket and only 1 nail. Wood replacement was needed in several areas due to mild rot and prior raccoon damage. I watched and all areas of deck board replacement were neatly done. I received numerous estimates and Mr Nyberg stood out above the rest. His estimate was neither the most or least expensive. In comparison to work quality and final choice of supplies, the amount paid was extremely fair and in my opinion the best. I would definitely recommend this company and use them again for any of the services they provide.

Excellent! Stuart Nyberg was honest and told us of other issues that needs to be done first to eliminate our problem. There's a possibility that his services would be needed once the other problems were corrected. Would highly recommend Nyberg Exteriors! Prompt, courteous and truly a gentleman. Stuart went above and beyond checking out the situation and the probable cause of our problem and we asked for and received referrals for the work that needs to be done.

Owner came for estimate. Easy to talk to. Polite and professional. Workers were very careful not to make a mess with discarded roofing and were pleasant to deal with. Also considerate with cleanup. Nice to work with.

These guys are great! They answered all my questions and in a very timely manner (and I had a lot!). They went out of their way to get me samples of the materials, and got the work done in less than 5 days. Everything turned out great and we've already received a ton of compliments. I trust Nyberg Exteriors and will definitely use them again, if necessary.

Andy from Nyberg didn’t an excellent job providing a solution for our roof problems at our home. He doesn't try to sell you what you don't need. We received a quote in a timely fashion and work was completely shortly thereafter once we gave Nyberg the approval. The roofer that showed up to our home was wonderful, his attention to detail and his craftmanship A++.

Nyberg found fault with the venting of the insulated flexible ducts leading from both bathroom ceiling exhaust fans. They proposed to install two new dampers on the roof and attach the ducts to these. They completed this work. Subsequently, in the winter of 2016 and 2018, after a deep freeze followed by a thaw, I noticed stains on the ceiling of my master bedroom. This was found to be due to a build up of frozen condensation in the attic, which turned to moisture in the thaw. When I checked the attic, I found that the vent duct from the master bathroom exhaust fan had fallen down and was venting steam into the attic space, which was coated with a substantial layer of frost from weeks of frozen moisture build-up. I also found that the insulated flexible vent duct had been attached to the roof damper solely by taping it, using foil tape, to the plywood of the roof. There was no mechanical fastening of any kind. The tape was supporting the entire weight of the insulated flexible duct. There was no worm gear clamp used to make a secure fastening to the roof damper. Both exhaust ducts were installed in this way. It was like something out of the Red Green comedy show from the 1990s, except this was real, and in my house. It must have fallen down and been exhausting into the attic for two or three winters. I could also see where the duct had originally been vented to a mushroom on the roof because part of the original mechanical fastening of the duct was still screwed to the plywood of the roof. So they found fault with the original installation, and replaced it with something far worse, presumably just to generate a check.

Nyberg Exteriors called me back the same day of my inquiry and scheduled a consultation within a day or 2 to check out the issue. My flat roof was leaking at the point it was joined the the main house structure. Nyberg Exteriors sent out a 20+ year expert to fix the extensive siding repairs and flashing related issues. We have seen no leak since.

Nyberg is very professional and responsive. We have a large house with a number of idiosyncracies. They handled all of the work expertly. We have employed them for window replacement in the past and we were very favorably impressed then too. We will have them back for more window work next summer.
