Description of Work: So impressed by this company and Andy and his crew. Instead of selling me new gutters or a new roof, he recommended a repair that would give me and my wife another couple years until we do a complete tear off. Prior to their repair work, water had been leaking between the gutters and the fascia, causing some rot in the fascia and at least one pair of windows. Another company I had take a look said I'd need to completely replace the gutters, another said the whole roof. But these guys gave me an honest evaluation that, while my roof will need replacement in the next few years, it didn't need to happen right now: instead, some extra flashing would do the job. Wow! Talk about an honest and professional business! These guys came out on time at every interaction and were even able to do the repairs the morning before a bunch of thunderstorms rolled in the afternoon. Which is great because now things are a whole lot dryer now. Thank you Nyberg Exteriors!

Description of Work: My house is for sale and a home inspector said there was hail damage to my roof. I called Nyberg Exteriors and asked for an estimate for repairs. Andy came over, climbed on my roof and did a very thorough inspection. He then informed me there was absolutely zero hail damage and the roof was in good shape. It is wonderful to deal with honest businesses that won't sell you things you don't need. If I ever do need roof repairs, I will certainly call Andy.

He went up on the roof and said the roof is in good shape and could last another 5-10 years. He sent me an estimate for roof replacement 3 days later calculated from an aerial view.

Description of Work: In searching Angie's List for a roofer, I came across Nyberg Exteriors. I am generally not in the habit of recommending companies because of the obvious possibility that they will disappoint friends and neighbors. I was so thoroughly impressed with Andy Nyberg and his crew that I would unequivocally endorse their work for anyone looking for a roofing job !!! Andy's professional manner and his crew's attention to detail were indeed impressive. The 6 man crew showed up on time and did a complete "tear-off" and put on my new roof in one day, I didn't think it was possible but Andy promised and he delivers !!! If you want a Class "A" roofing job call Andy Nyberg !!!

Description of Work: I called and left a message for an estimate. I got a call back a few days later when I was busy and asked them to call me back. I have never heard from Nyberg again. I guess Nyberg is too busy to return phone calls these days.

Description of Work: Nyberg was very responsive and came by to give us a fair estimate. They explained what needed to be done not trying to sell us more services than we needed. I did ask for gutter replacement and they had that taken care of at the same time. We are pleased with their work thusfar.

Description of Work: I had this company out to do 2 new upper roofs, last job in Aug. 2011. This left the lower roof to do. He was going to give me a quote when in my area. He never did. The men cleaning our gutters pointed out a very bad roofing area needed work. This was on 11-19-2011. I called Nyberg 3 weeks ago and after 3 calls with no response, I placed an order with another Angie’s List company. What is puzzling is why a company who has your valuable listing would allow his company to ignore an old customer. He called me this morning with a poor excuse. When I told him I was disgusted with his company, he hung up on me.

Description of Work: Nyberg Exteriors replaced my single family bi-level house roof. This was a complete tear-off of the existing 2 layers and had to be coordinated with the work a another contractor that did the major repair work on my damaged roof. Andy Nvberg was great to work with, a true professional. He was accurate with his appraisal and worked well with my other contractor. His crew arrived on time and worked 2 days until the job was completed. They did the best job at the best price. I would use them again and would recommend them for any re-roofing job.

His professionalism and promptness were highly appreciated since we are both working parents with demanding careers. He inspected the roof for us. Then made the necessary repairs. The impressive piece of our story is he did not charge us for the work. It is refreshing to know people like him are still around in our communities. We will definitely use him for any additional roof repairs and replacements moving forward. Plus given his since of honesty will not be seeking competitor quotes, which in this case is not necessary to see if pricing is competitive. We feel confident it would be the best quote for the quality of work that Nyberg Exteriors provides to their clients. We highly recommend this roofing service.

Description of Work: It doesn't happen too often these days, but we would like to extend kudos to Nyberg Exteriors and its president Mr. Andy Nyberg. We had a leak in the roof and anticipated a substantial repair bill. It turned out that it was a minor, but no less serious problem. It was repaired promptly (I was told it will take five minutes to fix) and the charge was a handshake. Many firms would have taken advantage of us, Nyberg did not. Angie's List should mention this to other potential customers. We applaud and recommend Nyberg Exteriors for Roofing, Siding, Gutters or Windows, and thank Angie for the recommendation.

Description of Work: Contacted Andy at Nyberg Roofing on a referal from W Brothers in Palatine. Many of the roofing companies do not want to perform repairs and prefer new applications. Andy came when he promised, called before arriving and did a good inspection of the roof to detect problem areas. We have a seven- year-old shake cedar roof with two areas of leaking from spring rains. The work was performed two weeks later with sealing and missing/ curled shingles replaced. The repair roofer was quick, explained his work and cleaned everything up. Overall, an excellent experience and work performed as promised in a timely manner.

Description of Work: Estimate given for flat roof and over a section of the house (breakfast room) where the roof had deteriorated as well as gutter & down spouts in the area. I was impressed that the estimate included tuckpointing becase of persistan leaks in one area. However, I decided to go with a company that installed a guard ove the gutter because of the many trees in the area.. estimate given

Description of Work: AVOID this company. We contacted Nyberrg to replace some gutters, sorfits, and facia on my house. They came out and provided us with an estimate. They required a $800 deposit. Within two weeks, we had sent in the contract and the deposit. Three weeks went by an we did not hear from them but they had deposited our check. I started calling every week for a month to schedule the work and I would get a call back several days later explaining they were busy and to call back next week. After two months of " we're busy call back next week", I contacted the owner, cancelled the contract, and got my money back. The owner told me they could have a crew out there the next day but i declined. In my opinion, this company lack communication skills and professionalism. I felt like they were delaying our contract because they got higher paying projects coming in. They wasted several months and now I have to find some else.

Description of Work: The gentlemen called me very promoptly. They were very professional. They came out to do the estimate on time and quickly. I own a very large expensive house. When they came out it was to replace and/or clean/treat the cedar siding that had become discolored over time. They kindly explained to me that I did not need to spend the money to replace and referred me to a painter to pressure clean and seal or just pressure clean to keep natural look. Most contractors with my expensive house would try to sell me new siding as I thought I needed it. These gentlemen were very honest and friendly.

While I respected and appreciated the sales person, I did not ultimately go with Nyberg. While their estimate was in line with the other businesses I called on, Nyberg's lack of giving me a detailed [ cost per item]estimate kept me from gong with their company. If I did work with them, I am sure the quality would have been excellent since they had an A+ from the BBB and an A from Angie's ist.

Description of Work: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! We contacted several "A"-rated roofing companies on Angie's List & eventually decided upon using Nyberg Exteriors in Chicago. During our very first phone inquiry, Stuart Nyberg courteously answered our myriad of questions & shared his expert knowledge & valuable time with us, well-knowing that he may not even be commissioned for the job. What you do not get with this company is a secretary, fancy brochures, large work crews--nor the resulting higher costs. What you do get is prompt, professional, friendly personal attention from Stuart himself, who developed his roofing skills & knowledge as a teenager, while apprenticing along with his brother for their father. You get a genuine work ethic, which is clearly stated on the company's website, as well as a very fair price. The work crew itself is a small team of craftsmen, who are efficient, artistic, and take pride in their efforts. After our initial walk-thru with Stuart to discuss the particulars of what roofing materials would be needed; what had to be repaired and preserved; miscellaneous issues, such as where the city bin had to be placed, etc., we felt confident that all would be completed in a highly satisfactory manner. As scheduled, the crew arrived early each morning at 7 A.M. to set up boards to protect our landscaping, worked diligently & steadily until after 8 P.M. each evening, and cleaned up all debris that had accumulated during the day prior to leaving for the night. We were pleasantly surprised that they were able to remove 3 old layers of roofing, repair all damaged structural wood, and then re-shingle our roof with the necessary under-layers & sheathings in only 3 days! The final result is quite beautiful, and both neighbors & passerbys have complimented the work that was done! Stuart proved to be especially helpful during the entire process, and someone who was a pleasure to work with... All in all, we have been quite satisfied! Our rating for this company is A+++!
