Our wood frame chimney had a section of siding that appeared to have water damage.  I called Holda and asked if they could replace the damaged siding.  He said he could do the job and gave me a list of materials that he needed.  I purchased the materials and his team showed up on the scheduled day to work on the project.  As they pulled off the damaged siding, it became evident that the damage was much greater than it appeared on the surface.  The fact of the matter was that the water damage covered a good portion of the chimney and went back though the plywood and even into some of the framing.

We agreed that they would do a temporary job to carry me over until we could get the materials to do the entire job properly.  They ordered the materials and had them delivered in a couple of days and then came back and did the work.  The job took his 2 person team a couple of days.  The finished work looks fantastic and I was able to later confirm with a roofing specialist that they did a very good job with the flashing to ensure that the water damage issue would not come back.  The project came in cheaper than I would have expected and they did not charge me for the first day of "throw away" work when we discovered how extensive the damage was. 

I would definitely recommend Holda in the future.

Mariusz Holda and his company (Holda Construction) did a fantastic job!  I found them on Angie's list and they did not disappoint.  I had them redo my soffit, fascia, and replace the gutters around my entire house.  They were on time, efficient, very professional, and did a great job cleaning up after the job was done.  They did miss replacing the fascia over a small narrow spot above my back door and one of my windows but it was an easy spot to miss because of the location.  When I pointed it out to them they quickly apologized and installed the missing piece w/in the week.  They fixed the gutter on the front of my house so that the downspout now was draining in a better direction.  I was so pleased with their work on the house, I hired them to replace the roof on my shed and garage.  New gutters were also installed on the garage.  Both jobs were done in the same timely, efficient manner, and again, they cleaned up after themselves well.  I was most impressed with Mariusz?s dedication to not only the quality of his work, but also the aesthetics.  He saw the color choice I had picked for the garage gutters and took the time to tell me in the politest, most professional way possible that it was going to "stick out like a sore thumb" and that it would not look very good.  He suggested a different color and I went w/his choice.  I was glad I did; it looks fantastic and I can see he was right about the other color being wrong.  Many other people wouldn't have cared if the color was going to look odd as long as they had their money.  I appreciate the time he took to talk to me and to make sure that I would have gutters that not only worked well, but also ones that complimented the overall aesthetic of the house and garage.  And all of this for a very reasonable price. 

At the beginning of August this year there was a hail storm that ripped thru the West Ridge/West Rogers Park area that did a number on our roof and many other homes in the area.  There were ?ambulance chasers? in our area immediately soliciting business and offering $500.00 to put their sign in your yard as advertisement ? NO THANK YOU!!

I did my homework and found Holda Construction and reached out to them about our needs.  From the moment that I spoke to them until the end of the project I KNEW that I picked the correct contractor to do the job.  This is a family owned/operated business and you can tell how much they care about the task at hand as well as the happiness of their customers.  I worked with Mariusz (President/Owner) and Carolyn the entire time and felt like I was part of their family from the very first meeting.  I never felt any pressure during the entire process and sought out their opinion on what would be best for our home.  Mariusz was honest and told us what would work best and what wasn?t really necessary if we didn?t want to spend the money.  He never tried to ?sell us? anything!   He answered all of our questions and was very patient with us during the entire process.  We?ve never had to replace our roof, gutters and siding before (thank goodness) so it was a learning experience for my family and couldn?t have asked for a better one.

The crew that worked on our house was very prompt each morning and worked late each night ? easily putting in 10 hours or more each day.  I was in no hurry for them to complete the job because it's the roof of the house and I wanted to make sure it was done properly and with care.  Now that the project is over, I stand back at look at my roof/gutters/siding compared to my neighbors and LOVE what I see.  I would recommend Holda Construction to anyone who needs a new roof, gutters and or siding replaced.   They are fantastic in every sense of the word!!!  Thank you!

I was absolutely blown away by the quality of the work, the value, and the customer service from Holda Construction.  

I have a 100+ year old house in Roscoe Village that had a bad siding job with cheap insulation underneath.  Given the age of the house I didn't want to overspend, but I consider myself a stickler for quality.  I originally planned to go with all new vinyl siding and insulation, as well as new window trim.  I got one quote from another provider that rates extremely well on Angies List for $16,600.  That seemed a bit on the high side to me.

I then called Holda based on the strength of his reviews on Angies List.  Mario Holda came out personally.  He met with me, showed me some of his prior work, walked the house with me, asking and answering my questions. He did not try to up-sell me at all.  He looked me in the eye and told me that he would guarantee the finest quality work.  I really took his word for it - he had a very genuine manner to him and really instilled confidence.  After about 30-45 with Mario, he went back to his car and prepared a quote, which he emailed me on the spot.  The quote was for $12,000.  I was surprised at the difference in price from the other provider for identical scope of work.   In addition, having asked around, I knew that there is a big difference in quality of siding installers out there, and so I would regret going with a less reputable company even if I could get a better price than Holda's. 

After doing more research, I decided to go with Holda, but let him know that I was considering some modifications to the original proposal - specifically, the possibility of James Hardie siding on the front of the house as well as enhanced window/door trims.   Mario came out personally again, went over my options with me, and gave me a revised quote based on the additional work I requested.  Again, I felt a lot of confidence that I would get real quality work that Mario would stand behind.  I paid him the deposit on the spot.  

Mario's two-man crew spent 10.5 days at my house!  They were there from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, two consecutive weeks, plus a half day on the first Saturday.  They cleaned up each day before leaving and were very pleasant and polite throughout the whole process.  And best of all they were real perfectionists.  There simply was no compromise in the quality and the precision of the work - I know because I happened to be at home several of the days they were working.  Plus they went above and beyond the contract specifications and fixed some small things they came across.  In addition, Mario came out at least 3 times that I am aware of to check in on the progress of the work.  Mario also called me twice to gauge my satisfaction and to discuss project specifics with me.

The end product is a real dream come true.  I feel so much better about the house - with new insulation, new wrap, and beautiful and perfectly installed gleaming new siding throughout, including JH siding on the front and JH shake above the gable.  The wooden window/door trims also added a great look to the house.  Mario called me after the work was done one last time to make sure I was perfectly satisfied, which I am.

All in all, I cannot recommend Holda Construction highly enough.
