good bid. installed one window in the wrong place (was supposed to be back of the house but did front of the house). when I called them, they ordered another window and split the cost 50/50 with me and replaced the window in the back of the house

One of the reviews described the owner's attitude as cocky. I would characterize it as confident. He told us to go out and get at least two more bids and if a salesperson told us that it is now or never, we should always choose never. I have used his advice in other sales situations, and have found it to be very effective. John lives up to the promise on the Best Windows website to never use high pressure tactics like ?today only? pricing. John is clear, straightforward and pleasant. The installation was done completely, carefully and professionally. My wife and I have recommended Best Windows to family, friends and neighbors. All of them have been happy that we did.

The process was good until the work was done. I did not see the installers use any insulation around the windows. The installers put a big cap in between the windows on the second floor. It looks to be way to large like it is covering up something bad. It does not appear like the piece on the first floor.

He had the lowest price of the 4 estimates I got, but owner John was over an hour late for the appointment and I didn't like his cocky attitude toward other vendors and my style choices, so I went with another company.

They were good. They did a good job. Their punctuality was good. I would indeed use them in the future if I needed to.

Reading the excellent reviews and checking out the company's website I decided to set up an appointment to get an estimate on 15 windows and 2 doors. The owner told me they did not do doors, but he might be able to put me in touch with someone who would. We set up a late afternoon time for the appointment. A little over an hour after the scheduled time I received an a call from the owner. He said he was just leaving a job and apologized for not being able to make the appointment. He offered to come the following day or the day after. I sent him an e-mail later telling him I would not be needing his bid. He returned an e-mail, saying he understood and hoped that our project would go well. I understand that things happen and I have dealt with many contractors in the past, but the customer's time and schedule is important and no matter how good the product or services I cannot work with a company that is not prompt. I have received two other bids and both of those contractors were prompt (even a bit early) and answered all my questions.

I called John and came the next day to give an estimate. He provided by far the most reasonable estimate. His crew came and the were fast and good. They finished the job in one day. I was quite pleased and I will use them again.

We didn?t order from them since their price was a bit expensive. We have a large window in the front and they said that it was too large for them to do it in vinyl. The estimate was more than $2000. They were responsive since they came out on the same day when we asked them for the quote. It was very impressive since the salesman said that he wasn?t busy that day. He also got a booklet and explained to us about everything. They did well when it came to their professionalism. We wouldn?t use their services because of their price. We looked for another company that does vinyl windows as big as ours.

John came out and quoted us a price that day, while he was there. After the initial quote we made some changes with the windows and John was able to provide an updated quote over the phone. The windows were installed in 2 days and look beautiful. John is great to work with and I would recommend Best Windows.

Overall, the experience was great. We had used Best Windows to replace 9 windows back in 2004. The quality of the windows was excellent (it is now 6 years later and we haven't had any problems), but the thing I remembered most was the buying experience. The owner John was very pleasant and knowledgable-good at explaining the features of the window and what options were available without being high pressure or in your face. So when it came time replace the remaining windows, I called Best Windows to do the work. I did call two other companies to get quotes, but went with Best Windows again. The price was fair and the work was done on time and in a professional manner. This second purchase experience was just as good as the first. Would definitely recommend Best Windows.

They were friendly, very punctual, and very detailed. They gave us an estimate right away. We wanted them to replace 14 windows and install new gutters. They did a lot of follow-up and addressed any questions that we had. However, we did not use them as we ended up getting a better deal from another company.

We had 9 new windows installed by Best Windows in the summer this year. We had met the owner, John Wrzesinski, at a home improvement show about 2 years ago. Back then, he came to our home to provide a quote. We also had 2 other well-known companies come out. Pella's pricing was three times as much as John's. John's windows have a lifetime guarantee as long as you own your home. This year, we decided to do the 9 windows so we called John to get a revised quote. He kept the prices the same as they were 2 years ago and we placed the order. He called 2 weeks later saying the windows were in - when can they install them. Literally, 4 days later his guys were out to install them. The guys who came out have worked with John for many years and were skilled and professional. All I can say to those of you out there....it is not too good to be true....John really can deliver on his prices. He's a professional person to deal with as well. I have no complaints and plan to use him again to finish the windows in the other half of our house next year (and siding). On a different note, we used another local company prior to John to put in a few windows, including a bay. We've had to go back many times to the company and complain about the work, have even had the manufacturer out here to fix some things, and the owner of THAT local company was very unprofessional and lied about several things. And his prices were a lot more than John's with only a 10 year limited warranty. So I would HIGHLY recommend John for your windows. I can't speak to his siding and roofing experience, but when that time comes for us, we will trust him and his team to do it and I know they'll do a good job I can imagine that if anything had gone wrong with our windows, John would have fixed any of the issues.

John is great. He is one of the best firms I have ever worked with. He is fair, low pressure, great prices, responsive, and a pleasure to deal with. I would postively use him again and would recommend him to anyone.

I had the first 1/3 of my house completed by Illinois Energy with Worthington brand window. I love the windows and the job, but they were prohibitively expensive. Before replacing the other 2/3 I decided to check out some other types of windows that look the same. I found that Alloc windows look pretty much identical. So, I got three estimates from three companies. Best Windows was thousands of dollars cheaper for the exact same widows as the other estimates. I give them all A's because they deserve it. I like my Illinois Energy windows a ton, but the difference between them and the others does not really justify the huge cost difference. I should say that you should know that with both installers, if you are switching from casement to double hung, you will have to do some wood putty and stain for where the old wood is removed and the new trim is added. This part, looked the same on both jobs and I had to wood putty and stain myself. I say on both jobs because, this is what you have to do if you are switching types of windows regardless of the company you use. I love the garden window. It was like 3 times the price of the regular window, but it really expands your kitchen. My only slight negative about it is that the nice big shelf is so deep that I can barely reach the cranks to open the window. Also know, if you go with a wood bottom, you will have to stain that as well. The installers were polite and clean. I wrote them a check, and John sent me a receipt later. I would ask to have a receipt on hand for the work in advance should I hire a contractor for any future jobs. In the end, we got the rest of our windows finished at once instead of having to split the rest in half. We are happy with the windows overall. Having put in 2 types, I love the IL Energy, I think they may even be ever so slightly nicer (slide easier and such) then what Best Windows uses, but I think I only know that because I have both types in one house. So for the money difference I still am very happy that I went with Best Windows. I did go with a vinyl that looks like light oak to match my trim. It looks very nice, but in hind sight I may have chosen white or almond in case anyone ever once to change the color of the trim in the house. That would be impossible to do in my house now because the windows will forever have the light oak vinyl.

Best windows was one of three estimates. Not pushy like some or disinterested like "Thermalcraft". Replaced all windows in house with siding. Looks like a brand new house. John was helpful, but let me choose. Windows went in in one day. It was amazing to watch. Workers polite, professional and responsive with minimal mess. Love my garden window and love my house. Even had compliment from small neighborhood boy. "Nice house."
