My puppy and I had a horrible visit. No appointment needed is a horrible system to have if you are unorganized and have staff that lacks customer service skills. This place has no accountability everyone just does their on thing. This was my 4th and last time. DO Not take small animals of any sort to these facility.

If you enjoy waiting an hour to drop off or pick up your dog from Daycare then this is the place for you. They run this place like a corporation. It’s about the almighty dollar. Not enough staff and super busy. Won’t use anymore.

To start off, the employees are extremely rude and unprofessional. This is not a business that wants to actually help animals. They just want to get as much money as they can from you. They charge you for things that you didn’t even request. There also isn’t any punctuality at this business. They made me wait for over two hours in a waiting room before they came inside to talk to me about my dog. I always spend almost 4 hours here each time I go. Which is unnecessary, for a 25 minute procedure. Extremely unprofessional!

Don't pay for one of their plans. You try to schedule the services and nobody calls back . So I let the plan lapse as I felt like I was paying for nothing and now all of the services I paid for are null and void. Very good to know I paid 500 for nothing. I put it off as I moved out of the area but planned to still use this plan to neuter my dog and now I have to pay full price again to do it. Thanks a lot!

We were clients of Midwest for several years. On 7/24/20 we took our pet “Tuxedo” who was struggling with several issues to Dr Coyne for consultation. We were satisfied with the evaluation and decision. They were so kind and we weren’t charged for the visit. On 7/26/20 we had to put the dog down. The care and affection by the staff of our loss was very heartfelt. 7/27/20 we received a vase with a flower that was very touching and our remembrance memento of a paw print. The service was great and I’ll continue to take our other pet there for service. Thank you Midwest.

Terrible experience for me and my dog. We waited in the room for at least 30 minutes. The vet insisted on a port. The technician couldn’t find a vein and turned my dog into a pin cushion. She was so afraid and in pain she urinated everywhere and cried. It was horrifying I’ll never go back there. Can you imagine that is your pets last experience ? So sad I’ll never forget it. RIP Peanut.

We've been using them for 5 years or longer than that. They are a very good group. They are very knowledgeable. They offer a complete range of services. They have kennels there and they do some grooming there. The doctors are good. It's a fair price. The quality is good.

Based on the reviews I read on Angie's list, I made an appointment for an annual checkup and grooming for my dog.  When I called, the person answering the phone said the veterinarians came in at 8:00 AM, and the grooming could be done after that.  I arrived 5 minutes early, and checked in.  I was the first person there.  No one was ahead of me.  At that point, I was just ignored for an hour.  Finally, I stood up, and someone behind the desk asked if I wanted to continue to wait.  I said no thank you, and left.  While I sat there I had a good opportunity to see how the business was run.  I then understood how one person could be lost in the shuffle.  The place is huge, run like an assembly line, and appeared to be utterly chaotic.  It reminded me of a supermarket or a fast food restaurant.  It was obvious to me that any type of personal attention for my pet was out of the question.  I was actually glad I found out early on what kind of a business it was.  If you want to be treated like you're ordering a hamburger and fries, and then told to step aside and wait for your order, this is the place for you.

I have used this facility 3 times in the past year. I have not had any issues . My dog has come back healthy and happy. I have used the Platnum boarding since I have an energic young dog.
They have flexible hours for drop-off and pick-up.


This service is pricey, but he is happy.

I have used Midwest Animal Hospital several times to board my dog. The facilities are clean, all pets boarded there are required to have up to date vaccinations and their prices are competitive.

I am very happy with their boarding services.

Very well. She was casted, and we were given a list of things to do to make her more comfortable.

OUR PET'S TEETH WERE NEVER CLEANED AFTER PUTTING HER UNDER SEDATION. THEY STATED THEY WEREN'T GOING TO CLEAN HER TEETH AS THEY WANTED TO TAKE A SAMPLE OF THE TISSUE FROM HER MOUTH FOR TESTING. THEY TOOK A SAMPLE FROM HER LOWER JAW AND SEWED IT BACK UP. IT BLED EVERY DAY FROM THE WAY THE VET SEWED HER MOUTH. IT APPEARS SHE TOOK TOO MUCH FROM HER JAW BONE. WE DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY DID TO HER WHEN THEY SEDATED HER BUT SHE WAS NEVER THE SAME AGAIN. HER MOUTH WAS CONSTANTLY BLEEDING. WE BROUGHT HER BACK IN AND WE WERE TOLD THAT SHE WAS FINE. THE FEE IS OUTRAGEOUS. THEY CLAIM YOU GET A SENIOR DISCOUNT BUT THE PRICES ARE INFLATED ON PAPER AND THEN THEY GIVE YOU A SENIOR DISCOUNT. THEIR PRICES ARE HIGH. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AND DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND MIDWEST.

Saw Dr. Melissa Newberg, our preferred vet. at the hospital.
She gave a quick look-over and administered the vaccines to both dogs.
She has a very good manner and treats our doggies as if they were her own.
Very polite, efficient and has a great way with animals.
The hospital is very clean, the staff is all very pleasant, and you can go there anytime
without having to make any appointment. It is a little out of the way for us to go there,
yet we would not want to change to any other hospital. We have been going there about
6 years and have never been disappointed or encountered any unfavorable event. Great
place, I only wish that they were closer, but that is neither here nor there.
I would strongly recommend this pet hospital to anyone looking for a good place to take
your pets. You will not be disappointed. By the way, I cannot remember having to wait more
than about 15 minutes to see a vet, and that includes the times when there may be 10 people
in the waiting room. Everything is soooooo orderly. The receptionists take care of you right away
and, after the doctor's visit, checkout is just as fast. Truly a great place.

Everything went well, The groomer did a great job. Their vaccine prices seem a limitless high to me.

I had to take my dog to be put down on a weekend when my regular vet was unavailable. Everyone here was kind, compassionate and patient with me and my dog during this very difficult time. Due to their kindness, I am switching from my previous vet and will be taking my business here from now on.

We started going to Midwest Animal when our first dog's vet stopped grooming services.. She was an older husky, and groomers are a must! they did a fabulous job. The staff was so friendly that we thought we would try their boarding service and they took wonderful care of her. We began to use the vets there, and although you can not schedule a certain vet, you get who is available, we were very happy with the care she received. Sadly, she became very ill a few years later, and we knew we had to let her go. The vet allowed us to stay with her as she passed, and the staff was incredibly caring and supportive. When we adopted our second husky, we knew exactly where to take her for grooming, shots and boarding. The staff is professional, efficient, and caring.

Dropping off Maggie was difficult for me; the staff assured me that she would be fine. We were told we could pick her up anytime after 10:00 the next day. She wasn't ready when we came to get her ( a bath was included) we needed to wait about 15 minutes which I don't think was that bad. If I needed to board Maggie again I would not hesitate to use Midwest.

Their service was very good. Everything turned out very well. I have just one animal. The hospital is run by Dr. Coyne and we have brought our animals to Dr. Coyne for 35 years now. They are a little expensive.

Would like to second the opinion of another reviewer here that sang the praises of Dr. Kylie Sloan - she was indeed an extraordinary professional and is sorely missed. When returning to Midwest Animal Hospital after Dr. Sloan's departure, however, I had the misfortune of getting a Dr. Coyne. I had two dogs with me for their annual heartworm checks... a 100#male and a 140# female. I always accompany my dogs to every part of every examination, and (on this case) I saw Dr. Coyne draw blood from one dog (my male), take a moment to remove and replace the vial he'd just used, turn back and then start to draw blood from the SAME DOG AGAIN. I was stunned. If I hadn't been there to stop him and point out his mistake, ONE of my dogs' lives would have been at risk.... (if the male had been positive and the female negative, she'd have been treated for a condition she did not have.... if the male had been negative and the female positive, she would NOT have been treated for a condition she DID have). True, both dogs were brown (though not the same brown), but one would think that the differences in their weights and sexes would have been noticed by a professional. I do believe the other vets at MAH are good and trustworthy... I would just avoid Coyne at ALL costs.
