HOUSE OF HEAT

I had used them before and double checked them on Angie's List. They were very prompt, did what they were supposed to do and were very thorough. They cleaned the inside and outside of the units. They are always super nice, friendly and informative. I have used them at least 3 times and have always had a very positive experience.

They were very good, there were several projects and they didn't all go off at once. But every time I dealt with them they were excellent, doing excellent work, staying behind their warranty and getting done in time.

A/C making bad noises and stopped working this morning. Called House of Heat around 8:30; expected to leave message, was surprised that someone was there. Seemed apologetic that she couldn't send anyone until 1 PM--I was expecting later this week. Marty showed up at 1 on the dot. Went straight to work, kept me informed the whole time. Found that the capacitor that starts the fan motor was weak. He replaced it and now it works fine. Also cleaned the coils thoroughly and checked the pressure. A/C works great now. Took Marty an hour.

The A/C wasn't blowing cool air so they came out and found that the condenser had gone out, and cleaned a very very clogged filter. They also added freon as well. I thought they were great, that they could come out in the middle of summer on the same day! And I had never been client. I was impressed.

Blower motor burned out at 8:30 p.m. on a hot and humid Friday night. I called House of Heat at 8:45 p.m., Mike returned my call at 9 p.m. and was at my house at 10 p.m. Air Conditioning was running again by 11 p.m. He was very polite and professional. Work was completed at stated estimate. Technician wasn't aware of 5% Angie's List discount, but honored it with no issues.

They came to the house on the Monday and were on time to replace the broken part and put the furnace back together. They were very professional and personable.

I called House of Heat (my building contractor recommended them) because the hot water boiler gave no heat. I spoke with the manager Roger. I described in detail the sounds, drips,and multiple problems with previous repairs etc. and he LISTENED! He sent Pat out within a few hours (no big hurry because I still had steam heat). Pat was perfect. He explained everything clearly and even fixed the chronic problem of my steam radiators not heating completely. Three weeks later my hot water boiler had brand new problems. Mike came out that day and fixed it but left with a persistent leak in a new place, came the next day because it didn't stop and all has been the best ever since!

Woke up Sunday morning with no hot water. Tried to light the pilot three times with no success--the pilot wouldn't stay lit. Looked online to see if I could handle this sort of repair myself, and decided things would go better with a pro. Check Angie's List, found a couple of firms that worked "emergency hours". Answering service (I presume) picked up for House of Heat. I explained my predicament, and I was told that the technician would call shortly. Received a call within about a half-hour. Explained the problem, and he said he could be there around 2 PM, perhaps earlier if that was all right. He showed up around 1:15 PM and got to work straightaway. Had the heater working within about a half hour. Clearly explained what he was doing and what the problem would be if replacing the thermocouple didn't work. Thankfully that was all that was needed.

Was able to schedule maintenance visit a week from my call. I had to reschedule; rescheduled date was only two days later than original. Marty arrived promptly at 9:00 AM. Visit took about 45 minutes. Marty was friendly, courteous, and cleaned up after his work.

I think they were pretty fast in their work considering they even took the old unit out.

Given estimate, work was scheduled for a couple of days later, work was performed, bill was submitted.

I have them come out about once a year and they usually call about two weeks in advance to schedule a regular check up. They are professional, reliable and a good local business. This past visit, they even brought in a vacuum of their own to clean up after themselves.

With the extreme weather we were having, heating & plumbing companies were extremely busy. Plus, it was Super Bowl Sunday & the Bears were in the Super Bowl for the first time in 20 years. House of Heat arrived within four hours of my initial call. The technician was professional & efficient, although somewhat grumpy- understandable given the circumstances.

A good experience. They were late, but called to warn me that they would be. The technician was pleasant and explained the workings of our heat to me. (This is my first boiler). He noticed that a safety device was disconnected, and hooked it back up, and showed me what to keep an eye on. He also gave helpful opinions on some of the feedback we got from our not-so-great house inspector (who hadn't noticed the disconnected safety wires). He was friendly and helpful. I mentioned that my new CO2 monitor had beeped occasionally, and he determined it simply needed a new battery.

I had two different repairmen in the process. Casey, who did most of the work, was especially good. He was on-time, friendly, explained what he was doing and why, and got back to me when I had a question. They were always on time. I thought they were reasonably priced and were ready to help. I appreciate that they did not push me to replace the A/C and furnace when that wasn't needed. Though they did warn me that I may need to do that in the not too distant future.

The technician was really helpful, and suggested how to clean the humidifier and what part to buy at Ace hardware to get a new element for it. He also suggested I use pleated air filters than the washable filter I had in place. Over all, the service tech was extremely professional, polite and helpful.

Our A/C went out on a Saturday morning during a heat wave. My call to House of Heat was returned promptly, but I was told the repairman would not arrive until at least 4pm due to other calls. He arrived around 5:30 p.m. after calling first. He was pleasant and courteous and fixed the air conditioner in about 45 minutes.

Very good. We have used them for years. They are reliable, competent and honest.

Very good. The technician was very careful and precise. We rely on this company and have not been disappointed.

A bit annoying it took two visits, but there was no duplication of work, and the charge was very reasonable. The usual, very thorough cleanup job followed.

I had emergency no heat with a tenant and I was out of town. I called my usual Heating and Cooling company but they didn't get back to me. I called HoH maybe 15 minutes before they opened and they got to the building in 15 minutes, met the tenants, diagnosed the problem, called me on the cell and got my authorization, got the part, returned, installed it, and ''voila'' - heat. I am very grateful that they took care of the problem so quick and easily. they are my new heating and cooling people!

WORKMAN WAS ABOUT 90 MINUTES LATE, BUT THE OFFICE CALLED TO LET ME KNOW. WORKMAN WAS POLITE, EFFICIENT, AND CLEANED UP AFTER HIMSELF. HE TOLD ME THAT CHANGING THE ANGLE OF THE VENT PIPE WAS UNNECESSARY, WHICH I APPRECIATED. HE ALSO GAVE ME A SUGGESTION FOR FURTHER IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF HEAT IN THE HOUSE. HOUSE IS DEFINITELY MUCH WARMER AFTER SERVICE.

DAVE SHOWED UP WITHIN THEIR 30-MINUTE WINDOW AND DID A GREAT JOB. HE SHOWED ME WHERE THE DIRT AND DUST HAD BEEN COLLECTING MOST AND HE SUGGESTED WAYS TO KEEP THE FURNACE RUNNING SMOOTHLY. DAVE WAS TIDY, POLITE AND SPEEDY.

HE COULD EXPLAIN THE PROBLEM, FIX THE PROBLEM, WAITED TO SEE IF THE PROBLEM WAS SOLVED, AND HAD SUGGESTIONS FOR THE FUTURE. NOT ONLY IN REPLACING A VERY OLD UNIT, BUT IN HOW TO MAINTAIN THIS ONE. BESIDES FIXING THE PROBLEM, HE CLEANED THE UNIT SO THAT HE LEFT IT RUNNING AT ITS BEST.
