I should have realized that this builder doesn't care about a satisfied customer. On two occasions the owner, Jeff Holland, told me if I didn't like it he could "sell my house to someone else." First occasion was when they built my neighbors house on my property line. Second occasion was when they installed my egress window wrong. (both of which were not fixed.) Yeah, my neighbors house is on my lot and H&L did nothing about it. (even kept the $ for the upgrade to my lot). Stay away from this company. So the long and short of it: Built in 2005 under his "standard features" pitch. Met with at H&L's office to pick out everything, house color, cabinets, carpets, you get the picture. We were RUSHED the whole time and forced to pick everything in 1 night, The worker smugly told us that's how they do it. I'd never built a house before and that was way too fast to be picking everything. Upgrades were never explained because this is a cookie cutter neighborhood and H&L didn't bother with customer or custom service. I felt like I was just a number not a customer. On the day of closing they were rushing so much to finish (Took about 8 months to build) that a finishing nail went through my plumbing and ruined the drywall above my stairs. They did patch it but I can still see the patch 7 years later. A few examples of the problems: Contract said 13 SEER air conditioner. At the walk through I asked if that was the correct SEER and builder agent affirmed. Well, 2 days later my AC was stolen (2 days after closing, inside job?) and when the AC company came to replace I asked what the SEER was and he replied 15. So, yes, they lied to me on a huge upgrade. The siding has to be the cheapest siding available and windows are so cheap they hardley open and close. The contract said R-15 but it was R-13, his answer, typo. Garbage disposal said 1/2 HP but it was 1/3HP. We were in the second phase of the development and were on a new street for a while. Eventually when the houses started filled in H&L built the SAME elevation (Clayton) up and down the street On one occasion he built the same house, same color right next to each other. He has no shame. Most developers do not allow the same elevation to be next to each other or across from each other. Not H&L (Jeff Holland) he could care less. He'll just drive his Bentley down the street and turn his nose up at you!Jeff Holland is very rude and unprofessional. I would never do business with him again. Just talk to anyone at Savannah Hills. Buyer Beware.
