The water line replacement went much better than I imagined. The company was prompt and completed the work within 48 hours. As part of the repair, the associate convinced me to purchase a maintenance package. The package reduced the total cost of the job and basically paid for itself. My issues with this company really began when I scheduled the AC maintenance. I was told that technicians would be coming between 8-11. At 11 no one showed up yet. I called and was told that the window for service was 8-12, which was not what I was originally told. I had to reschedule. On the second attempt for service I chose the window of 8-12. At 11:00 a costumer service rep called me and said the technician would arrive closer to 12:30 due to some emergency calls. At 1:40 I called customer service and was told the technician was still in another job. They again mentioned that there were several emergency jobs and that they were down a technician. I completely understand that emergencies can crop up. However this company does not appear to be very accommodating or forthright; you work on their schedule and better not have anything more important to take care of while you wait all day for them to show up.

Pretty good.  I used them over a year ago.  They were good but I thought they were very expensive.  I have it where they will come back in a year.  The billing is way out of bounds.  The service that they provide is very good but I'm not happy with the pricing it is way out of bounds.  The quality was good.  The customer service was good.

on one of the coldest days of the year, Spengler came out to look at our furnace (which was not delivering warm air). The technician sprayed something into the furnace and declared we were in danger of a carbon monoxide leak because the flame turned a specific color. He then went on to tell us he would have to shut our furnace down because that was the law/regulation. And he had another Spengler rep come in and tell us what it would cost us to replace it. About $15,000 when all was said and done.
We did sign up for annual maintenance.
We declined, called another heating/air guy who checked our furnace and made miner fixes - all for under $300.  Two years later and the furnace (which is indeed 13 years old) is still fine.  So is the air conditioner.
Didn't like the Spengler tactics - seems they were trying to take advantage.  Will never call them again.

It went excellent.  We have used Spenglers in the past for a complete Water Heater replacement, their office staff are spot on, their field techs are professional, personable and knowledgeable.  They arrived on time, I was notified by the office when they were on the way, they made their scheduled arrival, and the entire job took less than 4 hours.  The quality of materials is outstanding, the lines were all soldered in without any leaks, and the technician even took the time to show me how the new faucet could be tightened if leaks appear later on.  This job is now two months complete and I have no leaks, and I can (finally) wash the cars and water the front flower beds without hauling hose or buckets.  Awesome job for the Spengler's team!

We've used at least three air conditioning places and they are not even the ones that we are using now. They were better than another provider but it turned out we ended up fining someone even better than them.

Corey Modglin was very professional and the service was handled in a timely manner (same day). He did not tell me I needed anything extra done, just to make a sale.

Our water heater went out the other night. I called and explained what was going on and they assured me that someone will be out as soon as possible.  A bit later the technician came to the house ,first he greeted us then he put on his shoe covers before coming into the house.  When I showed the technician the problem he was very patient in explaining to me what all needed to be done and he answered all my questions in a way that i could understand. I was impressed with his knowledge of the business but more impressed with his people skills. That night was our first time to call a plumber and if we ever need one again we will definitely call them!

My experience with the Spengler Company was great.  Colby arrived at my house on time and then proceeded to perform the cleaning of my air conditioning unit.  He found that our refrigerant was low so he filled that up.  And he also changed our air filter for FREE!  He then gave me six options to replace the water heater in our home.  It was over 20 years old and had been leaking on the floor.  We selected the second option and he called it in and our water heater was changed out the same day!  WOW.  What service!  We couldn't be happier.

Prompt, professional and completed the work in a timely manner.  We had a couple of options for resolution of this leaky faucet problem and while neither was a "bargain" (plumbing, electricity, appliance repair, etc. are seldom low cost items), we appreciated the time he took to explain to us the problem, the consequences of doing nothing and our options.  In the past we have had repair services perform a job and not discuss cost or options with us before proceeding.

We will go with Spangler again if (when) the need arises.

Don't !  I was a loyal customer, but when something went wrong, the company addressed the situation poorly and unfairly.  In the past, I received excellent service from their customer service representatives on the phone and with the technician (Don) that performed work at my house several times.  But, the response (or lack of it) from their managers lost my business for good.
Through all my interactions with them, I was calm and polite.  Here's a summary of what happened:  I arrived at my house early one evening and the furnace was not functioning. Temperatures outside were sub-zero, and it was barely above freezing in my house.  I immediately called Spengler, and the customer service representative said she would have someone come out as soon as possible, but it may be several hours.  The technician, who I had not met before, arrived as promised and tried to diagnose the problem and repair the furnace in the basement.  During this process, he caused the thermostat upstairs to catch on fire.  Luckily we discovered what happened before too much damage had been done.  The fire destroyed the thermostat and charred the wall.  It also filled the house with acrid smoke (think burning plastic), and I had to open the windows and doors to the cold to air house.  I think the technician was as shocked about it as I was because he quickly wrote up an order identifying a bad control board and a bad thermostat (!) as the problem, and he tried to upsell me a $3200 service plan while standing in my hazy freezing house.  He said he would get the parts ordered, and the furnace would be repaired as soon as possible.
Obviously a mistake was made.  When I called Spengler early the next morning about what had occurred, the customer service representative was helpful, as usual, and said the service manager would call me soon.  My credit card was charged $500 for the new part.  By that afternoon, she appeared to be as frustrated as I was that the service manager hadn't contacted me. When he
finally contacted me, he was arrogant and rude.  When I told him I already had the situation inspected by several professionals, he
agreed to repair the wall, replace the thermostat and have his senior technician come out and install the new part at no additional charge to me.  The senior technician did arrive later that afternoon, and he declared the furnace unsafe and beyond repair.  He could not determine what damage had existed beforehand and what damage the previous technician may have caused.  The new part was useless.  He contacted the service manager and told him so, and he implored the manager to give me a break on a new system. We agreed that the $500 I was charged would be applied toward the new system.  At this point, I'm still trusting Spengler.

The sales guy arrived that evening and quoted a price of $10,713.65...that was giving me a break and applying all applicable discounts.  The sales guy showed me all of this on a tablet, and I had to write down all the information myself.  The next day, I got bids for comparable or better equipment from other companies that were $5350, $5632, $7522, and $7862.  I called Spengler, told them I was not purchasing a system from them and to please refund my $500.  The service manager contacted me and flat out refused to do so.
My wall was repaired over the next several days.  I sent a letter asking for the refund.  Over the next several weeks, I was told the customer service manager would contact me, but he never did and he never returned my calls (the customer service manager!). The operations manager called once and left a message saying if I wanted to discuss the situation I had to call him back in the next 10 minutes. I contacted my credit card company, and they immediately initiated a charge back to refund my $500 and said a penalty would also be issued to Spengler.  That was the last I heard from them.... until a month later when I received one of those automated "Thank You" cards in the mail, with a picture of the technician who caught the thermostat on fire, thanking me for my business.  The reviews mentioning high pressure sales tactics and overpricing happened in my case, too.  The arrogant and awful management was also exposed.  I never received an explanation or apology, only grief.

Like previous raters stated - very high pressure sales techniques.  No cost for estimate but charged us for 4 hours when only took 2.5 hours to do the job (I overheard him talking to his supervisor on the phone when pricing out the job- so in fact the estimate was charged at their hourly rate!).  The quality of produce used was not very good for the price. I would say go elsewhere.

We provided the  repairman with a Spengler $100.00 gift card.

The tech showed us a small I pad with a lot of difficult to read text. There was no paper copy of the bill.  The tech was there for about an hour, made sales  pitches for various items.

He  asked us to sign the I-pad screen and then  left.

Later we saw a charge on our American express account for $130. 24. We never received a bill of any sort and never  any apparent credit for the gift card issued by Spengler.

I am not confident that the furnace was honestly appraised and serviced for the upcoming Season.

The installation itself was very good.  I noticed the old tank leaking at 2:00pm Tuesday - was replaced by 2:00pm Wednesday.  They came out quickly to provide a bid and settled on Spengler that night and they were here at 8:30am the next morning.  The installer was friendly and considerate - top notch.  The only knock will be the salesman himself - a bit high pressure not a big deal because we knew we were going to use them after the research we had done.  He was here for nearly 3 hours looking things over then writing his bid then discussing with us his bid then sitting in his truck while we reviewed the bid then finally signing the contract.  The most disappointing was the discussing about their calendar - he wanted to be sure my wife knew which month he was "featured" - really - cmon man!
