Kevin McCann provided excellent customer service. Kevin was able to stop by for a visit the same day that I called (really convenient). After looking at the window, which was completely frosted up, Kevin identified the problem and recommended that I contact a local glass contractor to simply replace the center pane. Kevin even, left me with all of the information (window mfr, dimensions etc) the glass contractor would need to know to quote the work. Kevin saved me hundreds of dollars and didn't get a dime for his efforts. We have an older house (100 yr old) and I am looking forward to working with Kevin on future projects.

All aspects of the project went perfectly.

I did my research and engaged a variety of window replacement vendors. It is a complex project and Kevin did not take it lightly. I respect that Kevin understood that this was a big deal and I could tell he and his company take pride in the quality of their work. Kevin was very honest in his consultation and in how long it would take to provide a quote. He wanted to ensure he got the details right, so he came back out to the house with his Marvin rep and a colleague who was versed in the installation process. He followed up to let me know when I would receive the quote and also followed up to ask if I had any questions. I ended up not moving forward with the project to replace the windows. However, I will definitely consider McCann if I replace any windows in my home in the future.

The owner, Kevin McCann, agreed to help me out. When the original cladding was removed, the wood was in perfect condition. No discoloration or mold. This is a true testament to the skill of the crew who originally installed the windows and cladding. The installer showed up on time and re-clad the windows. The only glitch is that he was given the wrong color aluminum which delayed the project until we could locate a similar color. Good job as always.

Never use this provider! We needed to replace a bay window (3 windows) and one regular window on the front of our house. I contracted with McCann because of the positive reviews and the nice, no pressure, sales tactics. The work was completed in a timely manner, and they did a nice job. Initially, we were quoted roughly $4,000 for the work but were told it could change slightly as they got inside the windows. During the course of this work, the owner came to my home and stated that extra wood had to be used in order to install the windows and that this also meant that there was additional labor. Being home the entire time, I can tell you that the "extra wood" was scrap and random pieces probably found lying around the truck. Despite this, I agreed that Kevin could email me a bill with additional charges to discuss. Roughly 1-day later, I received a bill with 10% overages due to the extra wood and labor (10% on a smaller project, that is insanity!!). Confused by this large of an overage, I called Kevin to get an itemized receipt. Kevin flat-out refused to provide this and just insisted that I blindly pay. To add insult to injury, Kevin sent our warranty for the windows unsigned. The fine print states that our warranty is void if not signed. I can't imagine a more passive aggressive thing to do. Let me be clear, I was more than willing to pay McCann additional money, but not without knowing what I am paying for. When we finally spoke, I told Kevin I needed proof of overage and he sent me a bill with two random numbers (both roughly $200) assigned to the two categories (Labor & Materials). When I told him this was unacceptable, he just disengaged. I should mention how short sided a business move this was, as Kevin and I had discussed "staging" window changes in my home. Looks like I know have 15 windows for someone else to make money on... Look, I can't deny that McCann did a good job on this project. Having said that, I would never hire them again as Kevin has questionable business practices. Luckily I live in Chicagoland and have plenty of options. I would encourage you to exercise your right to choose another provider as well!

They were professional, answered all our questions reasonably priced and completed work on time.

Very well. We were indecisive, and McCann actually came to our home to give us estimates three times over a period of six years or so before we actually hired them. They were thorough, remarkably consistent in pricing, and at no time pressured us to make a decision. We investigated McCann initially because of its high ratings on Angie's List, and we were impressed by the company's clear statement of values on it website. Now, six years and a completed job later, we can affirm that McCann's performance fulfilled those stated values. Product quality is high, and the company's installers were careful, polite, and efficient. And McCann has been even more attentive after our purchase than they were before, responding quickly to the one concern we expressed, and taking the initiative to follow up months later to make sure our concern had been addressed. In a field crowded with cut-rate products and claims, McCann stands out for integrity and quality.

Work was done very well. The installers did a professional job and listened and followed my requests during the install (regarding some trim pieces). Patio doors openings were a custom size which complicated issues, but Kevin McCann provided a number of options to solve the problem. He also provided me initial quotes before we purchased the home and was patient and provided later quotes which we used after we closed on the house. They also did some gutter and facia repair that they didn't make much money on but it sure helped me out. I was glad they could also do this for me. It saved me a lot of time and effort to find someone to do it. The doors and new window look great, and I expect will last a lifetime. Next we'll be replacing a few more windows with McCann.

Kevin and the team at McCann did a great job. It is refreshing to get good service, quality work and professionalism from one company. I will use this company again and I highly recommend McCann Windows! They did exactly what the promised.

This is a smaller company, could not produce any references, they a sent a guy that does not do siding, but they did it anyway, for siding I would not hire them, not sure how they do on windows. A guy like that does not have any business doing it, if didn't want to. He showed up and took a personal phone call for 15 minutes. I have to live with, they won't fix it, they think they did a good job, and they didn't. When you take off siding its nailed down and the nail holes need to be filled he refused to do it. I do not sugar coat anything.

Absolute NIGHTMARE dealing with this company. Kevin McCann was 45 minutes late for our initial consult, and as a result, we had to cut the visit short so my wife could get to her doctor's appointment. After that, we emailed Kevin some questions since our visit was cut short, but Kevin McCann didn't bother to even read my very well thought out questions. He would take 1-3 days to respond and then would not even answer my questions or in some cases answer one and ignore the others (like what is your warranty on windows, and what are glass details since quote was very vague). I was very clear that quote should include aluminum trim around 2 glass block windows. When he finally sent the quote, it was VERY VAGUE and did not say anything about the trim around these windows, and did not specify ANY details on the other 2 windows like double or triple pane glass, window frame material, what type of gas insulation and coatings & location/type of awning window crank/open-close mechanism. After spending about 8 hours of my time over the course of nearly 2 weeks, he STILL had not answered any of these questions (just the warranty question) and told me his $4,300 quote did NOT include the aluminum trim (way overpriced in this case, since vents only cost $40-50/each and he wanted nearly $800 just to replace 2 vents (that's $450 per vent, and nearly $200/hour for a 4 hour job excluding all the other windows. His back door quote was 20% above 2 other quotes we got, and once I finally got him to ANSWER his phone and try to get some answers, he starting giving me major ATTITUDE when I told him we chose another contractor to do the door for us, even though he had itemized our 6 item quote and I had made clear from the beginning that we might not choose his company for every part of the job. Of about 25 contractors we've delt with, Kevin McCann is definitely the WORST one we've ever delt with. I really don't like dealing with guys who play games and try to manipulate you into paying too much by threatening to back out if you don't do the whole job, especially when they itemized their quote. I'm just glad we didn't move forward with them too hastily, because the windows would have all been cheaper versions of what we had requested, and nothing would have been done right. We definitely won't be using McCann when we replace all our huge Living Room windows in the next few years. With McCann's horrible responsiveness, complete lack of professionalism, high pricing, and lack of punctuality, McCann truly deserves an F Rating (with only 1 other company even coming close).

McCann previously replaced all of our first floor windows. We were very happy with their service the first time and decided to hire them again. If possible, they were even better the second time. They were easy to work with, accommodating of our schedule, efficient and timely. I really can't imagine a company that could do a better job. I highly recommend McCann Windows.

McCann Windows is a pricey option that offers standard windows with average performance. Kevin McCann sells well and promises a great deal, but installation is uneven and not timely. We chose them because we needed some things specific to our situation, but even when they were included in the contact, getting them done was like pulling teeth from a tiger. The got petty at the end and left us with a sour taste and a strong feeling that we overpaid for what we got. I would not recommend McCann to friends or family, there are better options easily found on AngiesList.

The work that was done by the installation team was excellent and extremely professional. Would recommend this company and their employees to anyone.

McCann Windows were very friendly, responsive, and did a great job taking care of us and our needs. They came out to discuss what we wanted first and to look at the house, then came a second time with some samples to choose from and took measurements. Our house is an 1890s graystone with old original windows that weren't functioning the best anymore (and were cold and drafty). Kevin did a great job of outlining the different types of windows that we could choose, and the pros and cons of both. He brought several samples that aligned with what we were looking for, which were wood windows that closely resembled the existing old windows we were replacing. I never felt pressured to get a more expensive window--he seemed to listen to what we wanted and gave us a lot of information to review so we could be informed and happy with our decision. He happily updated the quotes based on any of our changes, and we decided to book and order from them. They also agreed to install our existing antique hardware/handles on the new windows without any extra charge, which we greatly appreciated. After paying half upfront, they came out and took exact measurements and ordered the windows. The windows took longer than we'd hoped to come in, so we had to move the install date a little to accommodate the cold weather (it can't be too cold or everyone is pretty miserable installing outside). The day of the install, everyone showed up on-time and were courteous and informative. The finished up the second day with the screens and exterior finishing. Kevin arranged to stop by to check out the work and make sure we were happy a couple of weeks after the install, and was again very friendly and informative. I would definitely recommend McCann Windows. We felt like we had a relationship rather than just another customer, and I appreciate all the time they put into our quote and install.

It went well. I've used them in the past. The staff is excellent and they left the work area clean. They are very responsive and the work is quality.

Everything went well, from choosing the correct windows for our room, to the installation process. They did the work very fast, it was all done in one day. They also did a nice job of cleaning up after the work was completed.

Kevin & crew made replacement of 30+ year old windows easy. We gave them a tall order to replicate 1930's trim/moulding around the replacement windows they installed in our 1970's addition. Crew did an amazing job of matching the style both inside and out. All work was completed same day, crew was professional and worksite was spotless when the job was done.

I got 3 estimates to replace all of the windows in my 100 year old house with a 35 year old addition. We decided to only replace about one-third of the windows so this required some back and forth with all of the window companies. We ended up choosing McCann because of price, professionalism and easy to work with. I dealt with Kevin who was very helpful in choosing the correct window solution for our house and helping us to decide which windows to replace. Our windows came in ahead of schedule and McCann worked well with my schedule to get them installed. They installed all the windows in one day and cleaned up everything spotlessly. They even went the extra mile to help me decide what to do with shutters, flower boxes and reinstall my flag pole. We are very pleased with our windows...they look great and work! something my old windows could not be accused of. We can not wait to replace the rest of the windows with McCann in the spring. The entire McCann company has been a delight to work with!

During the initial estimation process, I had to call Kevin a few times for clarification of the quotes. He always responded promptly. Crews arrived on time, protected furniture inside and plants outside. They ripped out the old windows, filled the old sash cord pocket area with insulation, installed new windows, and added aluminum trim on the outside and caulked all joints. Their cleanup is very thorough. There's a lot of trash involved: all the old windows, framing, sash weights, etc and then all the packaging from the new windows, but it all disappears by the end of the day. My husband was concerned that the windows would be narrower because the new ones' frames fit into the old space, but because the frames and dividers were narrower than the old ones, we now have more glass, not less. The picture window was about 5 feet high and 8 feet wide--a major undertaking! There was some plant damage outside, but a) it's fall and those perennials are going to die back anyway and b) I think that moving the old (clouded) glass and bringing in the new one must have been very difficult. I wasn't able to watch as I had to go to work. Now that the new window's there, the room is incredibly brighter. It makes the windows flanking the picture window look shabby--yes, I have even more windows to replace. I also felt comfortable leaving the workmen in my home and having them lock up when they finished. On the first job (9 windows) they worked a full day. On the second job, they completed the 17 double hung windows in one long day (8am-6pm), and came back a second day for the picture window.

We met twice with the owner / estimator, the 2nd time to amend the original proposal. After this, they never followed-up. We followed-up by phone significantly later to see what was up, and were told in essence that we were too challenging of a project for them. I surmise that we were looking for a type of door that is not in this company's wheelhouse, or re-working an estimate was more work than they were interested in (though we are not looking for anything rare or challenging to install). We made clear we are looking to establish a relationship with a door/window contractor, having purchased a property that will require extensive further door/window replacement after this project, but this company clearly isn't interested. I can understand the position of a company only willing to entertain the easy work, as appears to be the case here, but this company fails to have the courage to communicate this. Anyone reading this understands that failure to follow-up in this way is unprofessional. When I evaluate reviews of other businesses and see this phenomenon reported, it's an easy decision to keep looking.

Kevin McCann came to our home on August 18 to give us an estimate for 18 windows. During our meeting he asked if we'd had any other estimates. He was our fourth and was to be our final estimate. Feeling a little overwhelmed by all of the options available from all of the companies, and as our other estimates were recent (including one from that morning), we were interested in getting his professional advice for the best options for our home. Apparently it was too much for him, as he asked us why we didn't know what we wanted by the fourth estimate, and went on to say something about being in business for 34 years and only wanting to do business with people who wanted to do business with him. His attitude seemed very smug, but we just wanted to get our windows replaced as soon as we could, so we decided to overlook that. He said he'd email the estimate to us in a few days, but in spite of at least two emails and a phone call and reassurances that we'd get an estimate, we never received it. McCann could have had a very good chance to get our business. We were serious prospects and I don't think we said anything out of line. I think Kevin's comments were rude, and left me feeling bad, wondering if we said anything wrong, but I cannot come up with anything. Since he came to our house and measured our windows and took up a significant chunk of our time, it would behoove him to provide us with the promised estimate, or at the very least his staff should not continue to reassure us if there is no intention of delivering.

They were great, it was a big job and the windows look wonderful.

I chose this company based on their product (Allside) and their reviews on Angie?s List. Ultimately I am very pleased with the product but was dissatisfied with the customer service. The owner and salesman, Kevin, began the relationship fine but when I identified missed items on the estimate (windows to be replaced, negotiated & agreed upon dollar amounts) he got frustrated and irritated. In the end he hastily hand wrote the final order so it could be signed on the spot. The installation went well and I enjoyed working with the crew. One window broke when it was removed and they crew tried their best to get all the glass from the carpet. Minor debris was found around the house but I expected some. They were all very polite, professional, friendly and hard working. One of our windows was not ordered properly (we asked for frosted, it came clear) and this was caught prior to installation. Kevin treated me like a nuisance when I brought this to his attention. He began to insult me at which point I told him the decision is his on how he'd like to proceed - I refuse to argue with him over it. In the end, he got the correct window and it was installed a month later. The windows look great, and held up against some very heavy storms so far.
