This is one piece of **** scammers company. They sent out a tiny little man named Justin, a white trash piece of garbage to give an estimate for an electrical upgrade for one of my commercial properties near Niles, Illinois. Typically over-sells everything, tries to sell an un-needed electrical "upgrade". If a brand new electrician addresses you with "Welcome to the Family" on their first service call, Know **** well, you are being taken for a ride. The consultation service charge suddenly changed into a consultation service charge plus One-hour of labor. Needless to say, make sure your consultation service charge remains a "consult service charge" and they don`t try to scam you out of hours of labor...just for a consultation!

It was very easy from appointment set up to installation to the tutorial on how to use the generator and the phone app. They had to pipe into our natural gas supply and run some pipe thru our garage to the back yard where the generator sits. The work was clean and the installation was great. Aside from the piping you would not have known they were here. I'd definitely use this company again based on this experience. Great value, professionalism and service.

Penco Electric is fantastic. We needed a whole home generator and we are so glad we chose them to install it. We got multiple bids and they were the most competitive in addition to their exceptional customer service. The installation was excellent and they went above and beyond to ensure that everything was done at 110%. During installation there were a couple minor issues, due to my house and no fault of theirs, and they went out of their way to make sure everything was done correctly even though it cost them some additional time and expense. I would highly recommend Pence Electric for anyone who needs a generator or generator service.

Our power went out last night and our standby generator did not turn on. We called Penco Electric and spoke to Kathy who was able to send a technician to our home within an hour from our call. The technician (I think his name was Luke) promptly got the generator up and running. We have used a lot of service companies through the years and Penco is one of the best!

I had the worst customer service experience with Penco. Use another company. There are many options. The Penco owner, Paul, was nice while we were purchasing a full-house generator (because it is a large-ticket item that makes them a lot of money), but when it comes to customer service, he takes the side of rude, confrontational employees over the customer. We had two gas leaks after our generator was installed and reinstalled by Penco. The first, they admitted. It was their fault, and they supposedly fixed it. However, I continued to periodically smell gas from that location. I finally called, and one of their employees came out and could not see a leak but smelled a faint gas smell, and he told me to call Nicor to check. Nicor found a leak at the generator line underground. Penco then sent the same guy who fixed the first leak was back out. He said he couldn’t find anything, but miraculously after he spent a couple of hours at the generator, the leak was gone (but he says he didn’t do anything but dig a hole). Nicor came back and confirmed there was now no leak. But the Penco technician said the leak was never there and said he didn’t do anything to the line. He then accused me of not knowing what gas smells like … even though Nicor confirmed there was a leak. Perhaps he was covering up a mistake he made the first time he came to fix the first leak and wanted to correct it and make it look like it was never there, or maybe whatever he did while digging the hole fixed the connection, I don’t know. But I do know he lied and twisted the words of the Nicor employee right in front of me as he spoke to the Penco owner on the phone. But when I called the owner to tell him this, he was extremely defensive and rude rather than being apologetic and customer-focused. This is unacceptable. There are so many other companies who do this work, there’s zero reason to suffer through this kind of treatment with Penco.

Technician was superb. Explained what he was doing and politely answered questions. Worked neat and cleaned up. Could not have been better

Our contact person, Marion, was extremely knowledgeable and worked with me to get the proper generator size and distribution system that met our specific needs at the lowest cost. She also helped determine the best location for the generator, which turned out to be better than the one I had initially chosen. Marion had answers to all my questions and gave me a high degree of confidence that the product and installation would be professionally and reliably completed. The installation team worked about 8 hours to get everything set up properly. They were well prepared with all the tools and equipment required. They also gave me pertinent information about how the generator was being configured, knew all the appropriate codes for my local city, and cleaned up all refuse. The installation passed our city's inspection without any issues.

THEIR STAFF WAS EXCELLENT VERY FRIENDLY AND VERY PROFESSIONAL I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEN. I HAD THE GENERATOR INSTALLED WITH AID FROM MY CHURCH I AM AN EMERGENCY RESPONSE CHAPLAIN AND WANTED THIS IN CASE OF ANY EMERGENCY. THANK YOU SO MUCH AND MANY BLEESINGS.

Received several bids for purchase and installation of a whole house back up generator. I found Penco Electric to be extremely professional and friendly from home visit when evaluation of our needs and our concerns were addressed and options provided; to installation of the home back up generator; to follow up questions I had several weeks after installation. I requested a whole house surge protector be installed at the time of the generator. The exterior and interior work areas following installation were left very clean. So pleased with Penco Electric's professionalism, I am having them return for annual check up/tune up of the back up generator. Absolutely no regrets in purchasing our home back up generator from Penco Elecric; having them install the equipment; and performing checkups.

I made a phone call a few months ago just to ask how the process worked.  I was given great information.
I called back to get a bid on doing the project after I knew roughly how much money to save up from the previous contact.
I secured a total of 4 bids and chose Penco for the following reasons
- The estimator was very knowledgeable and gave great information
- The bid was the lowest
- The installers were professional
It was a good experience and I feel I got what I paid for.
I would use them again and tell others to do the same.

Penco Electric was responsive when I asked for an estimate, tok time to explain options, and was patient in answering my numerous questions. Penco was flexible in scheduling installation around my schedule, arrived on time, and cleaned up after themselves. The crew was helpful, respectful, and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend Penco services!

Paul and his team did an awesome job. I would concur with the other reviewer that he represents what small businesses should be about. Incredibly responsive (would even meet me at 6:15am to work around my work schedule), very communicative, highly understanding of the issues involved, and a "one stop shop" (taking care of all the permits, trenching, installation, everything). I had numerous other quotes and his price was fair - but what sold me was the clear credibility and honesty he brought to this project - he's clearly a person you can trust. Very happy with the fact I stumbled upon this company for this project.
