The counter and installation were done very well--by the other company. Though I am happy generally with the counter (even if it is not the one I ordered) and the work done, I will probably just deal directly with the other Chicago Heights company when I'm in the market for bathroom counters.

From the beginning visit to the showroom and in-home design consultation to the many reiterations of the design and final execution, Kitchen Master was totally responsive to our needs, concerns and vision for our kitchen. After signing the contract, the materials were ordered and arrived in less than a month. From the actual start date of construction, the entire project was completed in less than 6 weeks in a totally professional manner with attention to every detail. We couldn't have been more pleased and would not change anything about our kitchen. We had heard many horror stories about kitchen remodels from our friends and acquaintances, but all I can say is that they didn't use The Kitchen Master of Naperville. We highly recommend them.

The wall above the counter top is tiled so one of my concerns was how the new counter top would look. Would they be able to get a close fit between the bottom of the tile and the top of the new counter top and could the get the old counter top out with out damaging the tile or the cabinets. This is the 4th time we have used Kitchen Master. Previous work included a complete remodel of our kitchen back in 1992. Remodel of out two full baths back in 1994 and a remodel of our and frac12; bath in 1997. Our great experience with the previous jobs gave confidence that Ted and his team would do a great job and I was not disappointed. We scheduled to have the old counter top removed just before we left on vacation so they could measure for the new counter top and build it while we were on vacation. They arrived on time to remove the old counter top and were done in about 3 hours. They did no damage to the walls, tile or cabinets removing the counter top. We then scheduled to have the new counter top installed the day after we returned from vacation. Again they arrived on time. It took the team most of the day to install the counter top, sink, faucet and cook top. It looks great. Good fit between the counter top and the tile wall.

They are good with details, but are not shy about asking for more money to make some accommodations they find are needed as they progress. They did miss on one design element (just left it out), but made good on it with some compensation. They were clean, quiet, thorough. They kept the house clean, and were very good at keeping the rest of the house isolated from dirt and dust. They manage all the details and staged the job so they are ready to take each step when the job is ready for it. If you're a bit finicky, they are for you. They will charge you a premium, but will save you that work, and produce a job that is nearly flawless.

They were excellent. They listened to what we wanted and came up with designs for what we wanted. They also helped us pick out the right stuff. I had a good experience with them.

Kitchen Master did an excellent job! The old space was tiny and disfuntional. Jennifer, my designer, took my idea and sketch and worked it into something beautiful. Kitchen Master does it all - detailed drawings, custom cabinets, recommending and supplying all major components (fixtures, countertops, tile) and construction (the only thing they don't do is paint). Ted, the owner, is very detail oriented - if you don't think of it he will. If he is concerned about your choice, he will explain his concerns and give you a chance to change your mind. My contract was about 4 pages long and contained every detail imaginable. This was great because as things came up (once you open the walls and floors, things come up), we could discuss options and costs. Mike (Ted's nephew) runs the job and I couldn't have asked for a more professional or more talended contractor. Mike and his team showed up every day, kept me informed about progress and next steps, cleaned up every night and worked well with other tradesmen doing other work in the house. At the end of the job I had one small item that needed to be addressed (compared to other projects where I had lists of things that needed to be addressed) and Ted sent someone the very next day. My new bathroom is beautiful. Kitchen Master is not the least expensive contractor out there but if you want a high quality project managed from start to finish without you having to sweat the details, then this is the company you want to hire. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

I worked with 2 sales people with the understanding that they 2nd sales person would have been properly brought up to speed with what was decided during my first 3 hour meeting with the first sales person. This was not the case. The 2nd sales person wasted valuable time by re-hashing material already covered. I had been led to believe that I would receive an estimate by a certain time and the company did not deliver. Instead, the 2nd sales person became very emotional with me and insulted me. I am a reasonable person and admitted that though I had been led by the firm to expect a certain outcome, which was not delivered, that I was willing to overlook it and still work with them given the 5 hours I had already invested with the company. Rather than taking a professional approach to ensure that the misunderstanding was smoothed over, they refused to work with me. I would never recommend this company in the future to any of my clients, given the uncomfortable experience I had with this company.
Response from The Kitchen Master

"Yes, this person visited our showroom to dicuss a kitchen design. The designer that could assist her was not in on that day. The staff member this person met with did invest 3 hours assisting and advising this person. She was told that her request for next day service could not be done, but the designer would still be happy to work with her. This person came in the next day demanding the quotation. When she was told it was not ready as we had explained to her the previous day, she became very irate and would not except the fact that her demand was not meet. We then informed her we would no longer be able to assist her because of the friction that had developed. At no time did anyone on our staff insult this person. We gave her advice and design assistance at no charge to her and we did our best to please her."

We went looking for Quartz countertops, searching for color first. We looked at Silestone, Zodiac, and Cambria. We found two colors we liked "on line" and went looking to see them installed. We went there because they were the only company that gave their showroom hours on the holiday weekend on their answering machine (silly, I know, but important!), AND they represented both Silestone and Cambria. We went in and Jennifer was amazing. We must have come in at least 5 or 6 times before we finally ordered. Jennifer recognized quickly that my husband was trying to do this on a budget and made recommendations on how to get the best deal on things, even when it wasn't through their company (although in hindsight it sure would have been easier.) Jennifer even helped me pick out my light fixture, even though they don't carry them! Ted came out to measure, the counters were ready within two weeks, and the install was actually pleasant. We LOVE our counters and Kitchen Master!
