Absolute shoddy workmanship. No attention to detail at all. His last words to me were "Your lust was ridiculous and you were just trying to get a free job" (I have screen shots and photos of his incompetent work). The contract price was $14,400 (minus floor and subway tile and grout). We paid him $2500 at contract signing. $3400 for electrical roughed, plumbing moved and water line run, wall insulated & dry walled with 1st coat of mud. We paid out $5900 and then voluntarily gave him an add'l $2500 AFTER we FIRED HIM because he had worked for 2 weeks because we felt bad for him. Our new contractor has to: 1) remove the entire hallway of cement board and tile cut improperly as well as pieces in the kitchen that do not butt up to the walls correctly. 2) Remove and reinstall the range hood/blower to the proper height. 3) Remove and install properly mitered crown molding on uppers which we have to re-purchase at our cost. 4) Remove existing beautiful 113 Y/O doorway trim on 2 kitchen doors because Ted cut it a 1/2" above the new floor. 5) Remove and re-install the "moved" farm sink plumbing as Ted didn't leave room for shut off valves. 6) Remove and make a new window frame replicating the stunning 113 Y/O layered window frame woodwork in the house since Ted ripped the existing frame off in pieces and told us he was going to replicate it and then put the broken pieces back up! 7) Remove the qtr. round installed on the bottom of the base cabinets and the piece going up the wall behind one of the base cabinets and place floor shoe instead which matched the baseboards in the kitchen and whole house. 8) Remove the 3" baseboard Ted created on the decorative fridge panel because it is at least 2" off the ground because he hung the upper cabinets too high. (at first he hung the upper at 18" over the base - so leaving 1-1/8" for the new quart countertop and almost 3/4" for the ligh rail, we would have had 14"ish clearance which would not allow my coffee pot to sit on my counter even. I made the mistake and had him move them up 20" from the countertop but I meant from the base cabinet). Now instead of using six - 3x6" subway tiles between the cabinets, my new contractor has to use six subway tiles and cut tiles to make up the difference). 9) Ted was told the farm sink had to be installed for the measuring of the countertop which he didn't do. When the countertop was to be measured, my husband told Ted it had to be installed and Ted said he'd never installed one. The countertop tech walked him through it and the cut he made on our new base cabinet is cut at least a 1/4" too wide on each side of our new farm sink! I'm sure I'm leaving out other things that have to be corrected and I have to pay our new contractor for work that has already been performed as well as all the finishing items Ted didn't get to. Absolutely not one thing is in a complete stage in our kitchen right now. We are paying out an additional $15,500 to have our kitchen taken from the state it is now in to completion. Unbelievable!!!!! The last thing my husband asked Ted to do for us (after I handed him a check for $2500 AFTER just firing him) was to remove the pile he created in our back yard filled with old flooring, drywall, lumber pieces, etc. Ted said he'd be by the next day (Saturday) to pick up and remove. We went out of town and came back very late Saturday evening and it was still there. It was still there all day Sunday. Monday morning I texted Ted and asked when he would remove it. He told me ... "when I pay him to". SO Homeowner BEWARE. He's smooth in his sell and makes you think he can bring your dream remodel into reality. He can't ... I don't care what photos he shows you ... I have photos too and can back up my review of his shoddy workmanship! A 10 day job and he was fired on day 32!!!
