"I am sorry to hear you feel that way. I checked our records and I see you are not or have never been a customer of ours. If you would like to discuss this further please feel free to contact the office."
"We are so happy to have had the pleasure of working with you on two projects and the outcome was absolutely gorgeous! Thank you so much for taking the time to give our company a review! As always if there is anything you need from us just give us a call and we will be there!"
"Thank you so much for taking the time to give us a review! If there is anything we can do for you in the future please do not hesitate to contact us."
Reliable's promise of exceptional customer service, attention to every detail and quality craftsmanship was completely abscent from this job.
The subcontractors were nothing less than rude, unprofessioanal, unskilled, "hang and bang" types . . . with an obvious attitude of "just get it done". Reliable promises daily supervisors who would check for quality and ensure that the job was completed correctly. In our case the supervisor consistently missed major items. For example, items that were clearly indicated on the blueprint, such as a wall install, plumbing loctions, can light locations, tile patterns, drywall repairs, and plumbing fixtures were completely missed by the supervisor. It became immediately clear that it was homeowner who was responsible for finding the oversights.
The subcontractors were adhored. There are numerous issues; here are only some of the major issues. The plumber installed most everything improperly and completely wrong. A few examples include; the hand held shower in the master bath has never worked, the main shower temp is not adjustable and does not allow for cold water, and the bathtub was installed out of level. The carpenter did not affix moldings, forgot modlings around the shower base, installed trim that was uneven and left major gaps on th inside and outside corners of trim, failed complete base trim installation in a closet. The drywall installers failed to follow the ABC's of installation, and cut through the bedspread on the bed that they used as a workbench. The same tilers permanently "trashed" the newly layed tile floor when they failed to protect it and tracked dirty expoxy grout on it. The granite installers spilled sealer on our newly installed custom cabinet drawers causing a noticeable stain. And to top it all off, both the plumber and tilers choose to bypass an onsite dumpster and instead choose to dump their debris in our custom landscapping.
And it gets worse. The remodel project was to be completed in February of 2014. As of June of 2015 the job, for which they have been paid all but $400.00 has not been completed. They walked off the job in April of 2014 leaving our home a complete disaster. Despite repeated notifications and requests to compete the project Reliable has has refused to complete it. They have never installed the plumbing in the hallway bath leaving it completely unusable. They never installed a large window which was part of the contract. And they have never attempted to fix any of the other major issues cited in this review.
In the end, we paid top dollar to Reliable who advertises and promises service and quality. Instead, we received below standard contractors and service. After paying 70K we are left with a major window that has never been istalled, one bathroom that is unusable and another that is seriously flawed. They have not made any attempts to fix other issues.
To make matters even more painful, we were left with no other option but to hire a lawyer and invest thousands of dollars to hire additional contractors to finish the job.
"Dear [member name removed], I am sorry that we have not been able to reach a satisfactory resolution for both parties involved. Once again, as we stated to you previously on several occasions, we would be happy to complete your project. All we ask is that you sign our company provided punch list which is stated in our original contract. Upon doing this, we will make arrangements to complete your project. In almost 50 years in business, we are very proud of our reputation for quality and integrity. We feel that we can settle this as reasonable people and put this behind us. We can only hope that you feel the same. Sincerely, Gilbert N. Ducato, President"
"Thank you for taking the time out to write us a review [member name removed]! We would love the opportunity to bid future -projects for you and sorry we could not be of service to you on your last project."
"Dear Mr [removed member name] I am sorry that you feel that we did not meet your expectations and going forward, perhaps we may find common ground to resolve any issues that you may have. We are currently under contract and as you know have attempted to conclude any and all punch list issues on your project . We have reached out to you on several occasions in effort to resolve any incomplete items and will be happy to do so once you agree to what is left to finish in writing on our standard punch list form (as our contract agreement states). As you know, I have personally been out to your home and met with you and viewed the work being done on phases one of the project. Once we completed phase one of the project and you were satisfied with the quality of the work that we performed, you authorized us to go forward with phase two. Also as you know, I have sent you out a filled out punch list form of what we feel remains to be done as per the terms of our contract. Our team here at Reliable are very anxious to complete the work as stated on the punch list I sent you but you refuse to sign our punch list. I can assure you again, as I have several times in the past, that we are very anxious to complete the work. All we ask is that you be fair with us and follow the terms of the contract agreement that we both signed. Also as you know, I have offered to refund the fair market value of the work that we feel we are responsible for to complete if you would prefer having someone else do it. Sincerely, Gilbert N. Ducato , President"

"Thank you for taking the time out write a review on our company. The only way to improve is to know what we can do better at. When you get a moment we would love to hear your thoughts and we are very open to changing practices that better our homeowners. Reliable Home Improvement"
"We here at Reliable are sorry you feel this way. To touch on the floor issued that you mentioned the real issue with the floor was due to an existing undersized header that was replaced via change order with the client. Once this was installed the issue was totally resolved. Now in regards to the windows, we had a service issue with them in which the Superintendent met with a Pella service rep and it was resolved. Reliable has been selling and installing Pella windows and doors for decades and have not had any major issues at all. Lastly, in regards to breaking things in your home, when doing a remodeling project there are chances of things getting broke. In your project we did have a little mishap with one of the drivers backing into a light pole and you the homeowner were reimbursed for all damages. I just want to take the time out to say since 1967 Reliable Home Improvement has had a solid reputation as a quality builder. We have had thousands of customers over the course of those years and have always treated them fairly and have fulfilled their contract. We take pride in going the extra mile for all of our homeowners. If you seem to still be having service issue feel free to call us up and we will not hesitate to send out a Superintendent to review those issues. Reliable Home Improvement"
"6/25/10 Toward the completion of this project on 12/14/01, our company had a meeting with this customer that resulted in a punch list of items that needed to be completed. This punch list was agreed upon by us and the customer. A course of action was also agreed upon at this meeting. On 12/17/01 a copy of the punch list was delivered to this customer describing the course of action as well as a required signature accepting the punch list and an agreement to pay the $3000.00 balance owed upon the satisfactory completion of the punch list items. Months went by with no response from this customer. On 3/7/02 we made yet another attempt to resolve this issue and mailed out another request to complete the punch list and then followed up with a phone call to the customer. we were told that she needed to consult with her attorney. More time passed with no response to our requests. On 7/10/02 we sent a letter to both the customer and her attorney asking for resolution to the issues and to complete the project. We also followed up with a phone call to the attorney asking for the same resolve. He assured us that we would be contacted once he looked into the issues. Again months went by with no response to our requests to finish our work and satisfy our customer. In April of 2003, we decided to close this file with unfortunately no opportunity to solve any outstanding issues. We would have been more than happy to complete whatever punch list items left outstanding nine years ago and would be just as happy to complete them today. Gil Ducato, President"
