The Opal Enterprises team was very professional from start to finish. They were prompt in scheduling an estimate, and provided a very professional and detailed proposal for our project. Eli, the project consultant, was very responsive to all of our questions. The Angie's List coupon was a bit confusing - a $300 coupon is shown under the heading of "Gutter Repair and Replacement", but looking more closely that coupon was only for bigger jobs like full roof replacements. However, Eli still gave us a discount of $100 on our project, and we also took advantage of the 5% discount by paying in full upfront. The overall price, while not the lowest estimate we received, was competitive - especially since they installed an additional downspout that we did not have previously. They recommended adding this additional downspout, as too much water was being drained into only one downspout on the back side of the house. They also pitched the gutters in the front of the house to the left in order to faciliate water runoff to the left side of the garage - we were having an overflow problem in that area with water getting into the basement. The work was performed on time as scheduled and completed in one day. They hauled away the old gutters, and did a good job with the cleanup as well. Overall, we were very impressed with Opal Enterprises, and would definitely use them again.

Opal was very professional throughout the process. There were 3 pleasurable, low pressure meetings in my home to finalize my choices and the contract. The work began one day before the originally estimated start date. I was not presented with any 'extras'. The crew provided a quality installation. Management checked in frequently. A couple of hiccups as I had expected but nothing major. I received what I wanted for the agreed price, and the end result exceeded my expectations. I recommend Opal.

Got Opal's name from Angie's list. Called them along with other companies. Ryan (sales person) came once to see and then came back with proposal. Although he was thorough in his analysis and his proposal, I didn't like the tactic of a $1000 discount if signed today (even though 3 days to cancel) as I was still doing my homework. I found other companies that were both cheaper and more expensive. The reason, I chose Opal was because Ryan was very responsive in returning calls, and working with me to find alternatives and solutions. Plus, they used All GAF products and were offering a great warranty. No hidden use of alternative products to just reduce the price.

The communication channels were frequent and they kept me informed throughout the process of ordering, and scheduling installation. The project manager (Jake) and the foreman (Matt) also paid me a visit and explained the process. The installation date had to be rescheduled once due to weather.

On the installation day, the crew was prompt and started working. Unfortunately, it was the hottest week of summer and therefore the crew could only work partial days which extended the install time from 2 days to 4 days. Everyday the crew came on time, worked for 4 hrs or so, and cleaned up before they left. Very decent and professional crew.

The couple of issues I had with the install was that I had to check on all the items specified in the scope of work and had to make sure to point it out to ensure completion. It seemed like the foreman didnot have the written copy of what was in the contract. Once I pointed it out, they would take care of it promptly.

After the installation, there was some damage to my grass and bush which I am working with them. However, there were some nails exposed on the roof which after showing Jake, he made sure to get Matt back and have it repaired immediately.

It went well. Any glitches/annoyances were not significant. From the first visit to final installation the company was very attentive. I think the price was a bit high, but another quote was similar, and the job was a complete tear-off. Ultimately time will tell regarding quality. The nature of this work is such that I can't be sure if it was great quality or average quality. But I do know that from office staff to installers, they were friendly, professional, seemingly thorough, and they were here when they said they'd be here. I would certainly recommend them for anyone considering this type of job.

Our first contact with Opal was through Harry, our project consultant. Of the 3 roofing contractors we contacted, Opal through Harry was the only one to actually physically come to our house before presenting the estimate. Harry also went up into the attic and took pictures of our roof on the inside as well as outside. Even though the company was moving to new and bigger facilities, Harry quickly prepared and presented a very professional and thorough job estimate. At our meeting with him, he answered all of our questions knowledgeably. Within a week of signing the contract, Jake, the project manager, came to our house along with Pete, our job supervisor, to meet with us personally. The office staff kept us completely informed as to the timetable for our actual job start in a very professional and courteous way. Once the work actually began on our roof, we were very impressed with our supervisor and crew. They were very courteous, professional and extremely hardworking. Their work ethic was obvious and very appreciated. When we did have any questions or concerns, they were addressed almost immediately by the office staff and Jake to our complete satisfaction. Each day the work sight was cleaned up very well, and at the end of the job our landscape was spotless! We now have a beautiful roof that we are proud to display in our neighborhood. We would highly recommend Opal and feel that you could be confident that you would get excellent value for your money.

We had several pre-installation meetings. These appointments were very informative and detailed, always on time and communication with the office was always pleasant. The installation process was not totally stress-free. The wrong door was ordered and we had some disagreements as to whose mistake it was. We also noted several areas where we were not happy with the quality of the finish work and their attention to detail. Jake, our project manager, played an important role in communicating our concerns to the crew. Ultimately, they fixed every area of concern and we are satisfied with the outcome.

The project was conduted in a very professional way. Crews are polite and deligent. Even the sub of delivering dumpster was very careful in protecting my paver driverway. The work was performed in two days, a right pace for the amount of work, no rushing and no delaying. In the third day, an indipendnt inspector walked through the entire job site to make sure all scraps are picked up and cleaned. A check list was sign-off at the end of work. Opal did an excellant job in what I expected of them.

The Opal representative (Tom Shallcross) was very patient and helpful. After describing all of their products, we quickly decided on the type of roofing material and gutter we wanted. The only thing left to decide was the colour of the shingles. Tom left sample boards with us so that we could study them under daylight to determine which colour went best with our house. The work was started and completed on schedule in the middle of February. The crew was very professional and cleaned up at the end of each day. The job took 3 days because of the cold temperatures and the short daylight. I am very happy with the new roof, skylights and gutters and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them!

My Project Consultant Harry was patient and responsive to all questions I had about the process. Jake the Project Manager, did a great job of walking me through the project, and was responsive throughout the process. The roof was complete in one day. I reported few minor finishing issues to Jake, who promptly followed up with the repair within 2 days of the request. Overall I’m very satisfied with the entire experience. I will have no hesitation to use Opal again in the future.

The only difficulties that we encountered were the obvious when you have a 35 year old house but the foreman took them all in stride. We were able to alter some plans, added a little cost(hundreds, not thousands) but got the job done exactly as we wanted--they found the source of a troublesome leak and they caulked everything with matching materials. The noise was impressive and even overwhelming but we knew it was coming and we just would go out....the men working put us in touch with friends who wanted our above-ground swimming pool so they were helpful even when there was no contract involved. When we didn't want to replace fairly new gutters and guards, they replaced ours with no difficulty. It was such a positive experience, to say nothing of how good the house looks.

We were very pleased from start to finish. The salesman (Tom) came out twice. First time was to do measurements, pictures,and what we were looking for. Second time ( with-in two days ) was with a detailed proposal,and samples. The proposal included alternate quotes , going from the best quality , to standard quality. Locations were given of other work done in our immediate area. Tom was informative, and not pushy. We had two other quotes, all with-in reasonable price range. We chose Opal after I saw the work done from the list that was given to me , the fact that when they started, they would stay until the project was completed. ( They employ there own crews,no subcontractors) ,and they used "Tyvek" as the inside wrap for the siding. The other quotes did not. Also there was a warranty on there workmanship for a period of time after the job is complete. We choose the " Cool Series" Life Time Roof " because of the quality and tax credit. Siding was also a tier above standard because of the quality. Another appointment was set up for the project manager ( Jake) to measure the home again, ( for ordering materials) and confirming, the roof,siding, type and colors. ( another positive aspect, double check list) Jake told us the "latest" time table the material would arrive. ( 6 to 7 weeks ) saying it probably would be sooner , but they don't want to make a promise that didn't pan out. The materials came in 4 weeks. He also gave a job duration time frame of 4 to 5 days.(not weeks )Through that period Opal had e-mailed us confirming the material was ordered and then an estimated arrival. Another e-mailed came when it was confirmed of an earlier time frame the material was coming in. ( Good Communication. ) The job began Tuesday Oct. 5th, and was pretty much done on Sat. Oct 9th. They had to come out the following Wednesdsay about 45 minutes for some minor finishing work, a final walk through and final payment. The roofing, and siding crews, ( 3 to 5 people) depending on the day were excellent in there workmanship, and professionalism. They were there 7 AM and worked until dark, cleaning up at the end of each day. The head "siding " crew chief " Mark" was pleasant as well as professional. There were some boards that needed to be replaced in the siding aspect of the work ( NOTE: The cost's were in there proposal if this did occur), which he did. It was suggested, but not pushed on us" that if some aluminum cladding was added around the doors and window, it would enhance the beauty of the home. We went ahead with this and were glad we did. ( This additional charge along with the replacing of some rotten boards amounted to an additional 4.5 % which is included in the price mentioned above) We are very happy with the end result. Our 30 year home looks wonderful on the outside. I am very pleased how Opal runs there operation. Besides the excellent workmanship and professionalism, there is communication ,both in there office and in the field. I would definitely recommend contacting them as one of contractors to give you a quote on your home. I am glad we did.

Two things that stood out about Opal: communication and follow up. Reading the reviews, we were confident that Opal would do a good job. What distinguished them from other quotes we received are that they are detailed oriented and communicating them clearly so there is no misunderstanding, and the follow up after the work was completed. From the get-go, the salesperson was transparent and able to answer any questions. We took the time to come up with our preference and he was patient throughout. The work completed by the crew is well done. What surprised us was the follow up call we received. We didn't expect everything to be completely error-free. No blame on either side, just little details that don't come up until the work is completed. That was expected. We liked that Opal actively followed up. The project manager took the notes and everything was corrected to our satisfaction. We are enjoying the new siding daily. Recommended.

We liked the person who came out for the quote, they came out 2 different times to look at the roof and then to give us the estimate. The only reason we didn't go with them is because the price was higher. They seemed really knowledgeable and like they would be easy to work with, it's just that they were higher priced.

Our sales representative took the extra time to ensure that all work was well documented. This ensured that our expectations were met. As the work was being performed my wife and I had a few items that we wanted done differently or re-done and that was never an issue. The work crew was clearly focused on doing quality work. Overall, we are very happy with the quality of the work. They were not the cheapest quote but I will definitely contact them again for any future work.

Sales guy was very good, Harry, showed up on time and no stereotypical sales tactics. Quote was accurate and got it to me in one day. Responded to all my calls and emails the same day. They also have a 0% financing option for 1 year that was a nice bonus. After I signed the contract, they sent out another guy to do the exact measurements. His name was Jake, I think. He was also a nice guy and very thorough. The install crew was two guys and they knocked out the entire job in three days. All the windows look great and function properly. After they installed, the same guy who did all the exact measurements came back to inspect and take payment. Everything was done within the time frames we agreed to, for the price agreed to, and they did good work. What else could you ask for? I would use again and recommend.
