We found a place, so the overall experience was fair. However, I think our agent did very little work for the commission she earned (paid by seller). She did the minimum and no more. She took us out a total of three times over a period of about a week. Two of these times were half-days. We were pretty easy customers yet she was difficult to reach and did not follow-up with us. On the day before the closing, I had to call her to ask when the walk through would be completed. After we moved in, I called and left her a message regarding a quick question I had. She never returned my call. But the deal-breaker was the dog issue. I told her several times that the place must be pet friendly and I even rejected some that weren't while with her. She did not check with the condo association to confirm the rules for this place. She guessed and she was wrong. We were a bit surprised that after we moved in we got no thank you gift or card from her. That's a first for us with Realtors.
Description of Work: We purchased a condo in Naperville. We relocated here from Kentucky and were contacted by Mary Beth's partner, Carol Gavalick, who referred us to Mary Beth. Although friendly enough, Mary Beth's service was uneven. First, we communicated a price range to Mary Beth and she continued to send us listings that were well above (Over $20K more)this price range. Additionally, when she first took me out to look at homes, she did not take me to any of the ones I had selected on the website she sent me. My husband and I had to tell her repeatedly that we were firm on the price range. She was seldom available on her cell phone and sometimes took hours to call us back. Biggest issue: we said we wanted a pet friendly complex and we found out only after we moved in that the place isn't exactly pet friendly-pets can't even be walked on the property. After our offer was accepted there was virtually no follow-up from her regarding the inspection repairs, walk-thru, etc.
