I had a good experience with this company when I cut my tree down last year. Not this time! The owner's older son came out to put new sods for half of my backyard. He was rather blunt and rude and unprofessional. And, my good grass got stepped on with muds and completely squashed. And, the contract term he offered me states that the company takes credit card with 3.5 % transaction fee. So I told him I would pay with my credit card when the job was completed but he blamed me that I did not make it clear with him on that payment option term that he dictated on his own contract offer? Then he threatened me to charge more unless I pay him with the check or cash. Never again, Lopez. Now I have to fix the dead spots myself.

He was here for a few days. For the landscaping part they had like six people working and for the landscaping part they had like three or four people.

My experience was a disaster. After an initial bid, Mr. Lopez called with a slightly lower bid. It was at the end of the season and work was slowing. We agreed. The first day, the crew began cutting down the WRONG TREE. They stopped after ruining the shape. Large branches fell on another tree and broke a specimen tree that was NOT to be cut down. An arbor was moved and left. Large branches and tree parts were left all over the yard. The crew left early and told us they would be back to finish the next working day. When we saw what they had done, we were sick to our stomach. We called Mr. Lopez and told him we did not want his crew back. He came out and saw the damage. He still had a large tree and some smaller ones to cut down. He apologized for the "new crew" and offered to top off the specimen tree to help its shape, remove the butchered tree that they were not supposed to cut and replace it with a small tree of another variety. He seemed sincere so we agreed to let his service finish the work with a different crew. When they were finished, there were two large piles of mulch where the large trees had been. We assumed it was from grinding the stumps. There were also ruts in a brick patio where the machinery had been (the ground must have been to damp) and ruts in the yard. This spring, we shoveled off the mulch to find that the stumps had NOT been removed. We called the company four times. Eventually we were told that they planned to do nothing because it had been too long. They did not perform the agreed on work for which they were paid. We didn't deal with the mulch in the winter because we believed that they had correctly finished the job. We felt disappointed that they failed to properly complete the job, took our money and said they were sorry but they were not going to do anything more- all we asked is that they finish grinding the stumps that they were supposed to have done.

It was a disaster. The crew came and began to cut down the WRONG TREE. After they butchered this tree, they realized the mistake and then cut down the tree they were supposed to. The crew left early that day and said they would be back the next work day. They left leaving the yard full of debris, broken branches had fallen on ornamental trees and had broken limbs from them (and were still left in these broken branches), and the yard was in total disarray. When we saw what they had done, we were sick to our stomach. We called Mr. Lopez several times ready to halt the job due to the horrible work. Mr. Lopez came and apologized that this NEW crew had created such issues. He promised to send a different crew, to reshape the ornamental that was damaged and to replace the butchered tree with a different tree. They would also cut down the largest tree that hadn't been cut down. We felt him to be earnest and allowed him to finish the job. BIG MISTAKE. They left large piles of mulch where the trees were. We assumed it was ground stump. In the spring when we moved the mulch, we found the stumps were still there. The machinery had damaged our brick pavers, broke our steppers and our sprinkler heads. A paver patio was sunk now due to the weight of the machinery. We called multiple times to get them to remove the stumps and were told they were not going to remove the stumps. WHAT? WE PAID THEM TO DO THIS. This seems to be the least they could due to fulfill the agreement especially after we allowed them to "finish" the job after the mistakes made regarding the tree removal. We did not get what we paid for. Beware of this company.

The trimming was much too severe. The trees especially around our deck were virtually stripped bare except for the very top. The backdrop around our deck is completely gone. Many of our neighbors have commented on how severe the trimming was. None of them have asked for a reference for this tree trimming company.
The trimming happens so quickly that it is difficult to intervene until it is too late. My wife was able to control their trimming on day on a couple of trees. We were extremely disappointed with Lopez Tree Service.
The workers were prompt. They did clean up all branches , leaves , etc

They removed a large locust tree from the front yard and ground the stump, as well as cleaning up all the small leaves that fell as they removed the tree in October. They also did extensive trimming on a huge silver maple in the backyard and removed 3 dead trees in the backyard and ground the stumps. They did great work, were prompt and reasonably priced. I would definitely use them again for tree service.

Excellent job by their crew in a area where they had to access from the backyard through a park area.  They worked with the Park District to get proper approval (insurance issue) and once done, came out with trucks, a huge crane and did the job quickly.  Great cleanup and also left me some cut up wood for firewood.  Truly professional crew who knew exactly what to do and how to do it.

I have used Lopez before, and he has always done a good job.  4 or 5 trucks arrived.  Once they started, it went very efficiently.  I think it took about 3 hours.  Oliverio's son did most of the chain saw cutting from the bucket.  He was extremely fast with his cuts - I was surprised to see how fast the saw went through the huge limbs.  The company seemed to have good equipment.  They had a bobcat front end loader picking up the heavy pieces, instead of workers.  The dropped pieces of limbs did not damage our landscaping.  The grinding of the trunk was good and deep.  I don't know what technology is available - maybe there is a better machine than they used, but I think they went pretty deep (10"?).  They cleaned all the broken/small branches, so the yard looked nice.  There were a few noticeable divots, but pretty small - it seems reasonable to expect some with the huge limb pieces falling from 50 feet.  It was a windy day, so the sawdust coated our neighbors driveway and sidewalk - they cleaned it all up so it looked nice.  The only slight negatives:  1. I did not receive a call before they arrived to do the work (so maybe remind them to do this)  2. One truck left a significant depression (2' x 3') in the parkway where another tree had been removed a couple years earlier.  I think this was unavoidable.

It went very well. I called many tree services to see if I can get someone to give me a price and come out and lot of people even didn't call me back. I probably called eight plus companies and they were one of the few that actually returned my phone call and then came out within like a day or two on weekend and gave me a price and then I told them yes I wanted to go with it. They were out within three to five days after that do to the trimming. They were very good. I thought their professionalism, response time is good. I thought the prices were good. They were clean. There was a lot of debris that came off of that tree. They cleaned every single thing up. They trimmed it the way I wanted it trimmed or using their professional knowledge on how to do it. Overall they are excellent on everything. I would absolutely use them in the future.

Oliverio appeared to do estimate day after I called the office. He said they could do all the work the next morning and after talking to him about the job and price we gave him the job on the spot. His crew appeared the next morning promptly as promised with several trucks and pieces of equipment. When I talked to Oliverio about the job he suggested thinning one of the trees and I agreed although I was a little hesitant about the need. But as it turned out his suggestion was correct and the tree looks much better, will allow a little more sun in my garden and will thrive after the thinning. The crew of 7 were professional and knew exactly what they were doing. Ropes and guidlines were used to remove the large tree with no disturbance to my garden or any of the neighbors property. The job was done, everything cleaned up, and all equipment gone in about 2 hours. I would hire again and recommend this crew without hesitation.

We called 3 tree services out to estimate for removal of a pine tree that died due to the harsh winter last year. Lopez was $100 cheaper than the next closest estimate (all providers offered a discount for cash/check). I'm generally wary of the cheapest vendor, but based on Angie's reviews we went with them. When I called him to schedule I told him about another branch I needed trimmed from another tree and we negotiated a price. He asked when I would like him out and I was looking for a day when I could be home. He said with a job this small they try to fit it in when they're in the neighborhood and that I did not have to be home and could pay him later. I like that level of trust. He told me they would be out by the following Wednesday.
As it turns out they came the next day. They took the tree and the other branch down and did a fantastic cleanup job. Here's the amazing thing: While they were doing our job, another neighbor approached them to take some trees down, then another, then another. 4 of us in my cul de sac used Lopez that day. I know he did thousands of dollars of work over a 10 hour period. To me it goes to show you that if you do good work at a fair price, you will be successful. All of my neighbors were very satisfied and actually thanked my wife and I for having Lopez out!

Arrived promptly and job was completed in a couple of hours. Yard was so clean afterward that it didn't look like they had been here. Estimate was lower than a couple other companies.

We have many large trees on our property and the canopies were low to the ground and the trees were filled with dead branches. Mr. Lopez and his crew trimmed, raised the canopy and cleaned out many trees. They also removed one dead tree and ground the stump. The crew was friendly and professional. Their work was so efficient and the yard is so clean, you would never have known they were here. But our property is like brand new!
