Stay away – shop elsewhere. We ordered flooring through the Costco program. Sales process with Matt was fine; he was responsive and we appreciated the selection available. Service and responsiveness after the order was installed was quite poor – very different from what you see during the sales and scheduling process. The installation experience was far below expectations. Installers arrived at 8am and left after 9pm – a 13+ hour day. Not surprisingly, quality at the end of a day that long was poor. An installer stepped in caulk and tracked it throughout the basement. Installers refused to install trim pieces that were discussed and ordered with Matt – only after arguing did they agree to install pieces that were already on site and included with the order. Two stair tread pieces were cut crooked, and it took months to get those replaced. When replacing the mis-cut stair pieces, installers left the walls scraped and damaged. Once everything was finished, I wrote to Lauren (President) to share the experience. What I received back suggested that their team had reasons for everything that went wrong, and that maybe our expectations were the issue. No acknowledgement that this experience differs from what Great Western aims to provide, so I take that to mean our project was an ok result by them. It’s certainly not an experience that I would want others to have. I have worked with many contractors through different projects, and Great Western stands out as a much poorer experience than normal for remodeling and home improvement work.

Never got past the proposal stage. Salesperson came over to give us a quote. Measured the property and the sat at our kitchen table to look at samples. He set his book of samples down on our wood table for us to review. When he lift his book, we noticed that it had scratched and gouged the entire table. His comment “Oh sorry”. Following the visit we contacted the company several times to discuss. No response. Finally, after the 5th attempt, we connected with the salesperson. He stated it was Company policy not to cover anything like that. It was an accident. No discussion, no attempt to resolve. Just NO! Very unprofessional and lack of customer importance. Caution when using this company!

Overall work was very good and seems to be holding up. There has been one problem with one of the transition pieces being loose that we have not addressed.

The finished look is very good, BUT.... many aggravating things happening along the way. Not enough flooring was ordered, so project had to stop. Workers left a pile of wood and the box in the middle of my living room. I have cats - so they would have lots of fun climbing this pile and injuring their paws. I had to carry all extra pieces into my basement myself. The reason I could not ask them to do it, is because THEY DID NOT SPEAK ENGLISH. Was a real communication barrier and I found it completely frustrating. None of the guys ever even told me their names - the one "lead" worker was very nice but how can you discuss something when you don't speak Spanish and they don't speak English? They also made a gigantic mistake, by not realizing the height difference of my ceramic tile in the foyer - compared to where the wooden floor would be. The woman who came initially did not even ask me about that - the workers didn't seem to realize. I had to eventually get two wooden strips to join the rooms together - they look pretty bad and one of them is starting to come up at one end. I would NEVER USE THEM AGAIN because they just don't seem to give a care.

Excellent. This is the second time I've used Great Weatern Flooring. They are competitively priced, do top quality work and meet deadlines. They do not cut corners and do an excellent job on trim work and final touches. Very friendly staff and crew. I strongly recommend them.

We chose another tile and had another installer come and the work was satisfactory. The work was done a number of years ago and managers and personnel may have changed by now.

Worse experience ever. Job was to take 3 - 4 days but sales rep never ordered the flush mount vents till upwards to 3 weeks AFTER installation of flooring. Then tells us we can't do flush mount after the flooring was down. A manager stepped in and said it could be done but she would need to find the right person to install them as it was harder to do once the flooring was down. Once vents got ordered it took about 3 -4 weeks to get them in and then we are told they don't fit but we think it was a case of the guys sent didn't know HOW to install them. And they didn't match either. Took several more weeks before they got them fixed and installed. Installer was rude and scratched up freshly painted walls and they just shrugged off the complaint. Took upwards to 9 + weeks from start to finish - installation of flooring to installation of vents. Way too long to have our house turned upside down.

Vents were not delivered with flooring and had to wait about 4 weeks for the vents. Also, was charged for all materials before installation was completed!

The sales staff were great to work with; however, the installation was the worst part of the entire kitchen remodel. We selected a special hand-glazed tile that was not uniform for each tile. The sales staff promised that the tile installer was an artisan and would layout the tile prior to install, to make sure there was a randomness to the finished backsplash. When the installer showed up, he mixed up the mortar and was planning on pulling tiles out of the box and installing without laying out the pattern first. Upon questioning, he told me that if I wanted that, I needed to lay out the tile myself. He packed up and left. Upon calling the store, they informed me that I had the best person on the job. No one came out to mediate the process or make sure the installer was performing as promised. I spent 4 hours unpacking tiles and laying them out. The next day, the same installer showed up and asked if I really wanted him to install the tiles as per my layout. It was an exasperating experience, to say the least.

Floor installation was not performed professionally. Glue came through seams in flooring. Thresholds have already come up and repaired , and then they came up again. The stipulations of the contract we signed was not followed by the company. Highly unresponsive to requests for assistance with these matters by the company reps. No follow up from sales reps to see how project went.
