Excellent service!
They will push the Phace Club, but for $360 to have the systems serviced twice a year and discounts on the service work it is well worth it.
Office staff and servicemen very helpful and professional.
Required use of 2 service calls. Water heater serviceman not comfortable doing plumbing. Plumber came later in the day and replaced sprayer. Price was a little high but was discounted by joining Phace Club (a prepaid service membership).
"This gentleman must be reviewing the wrong contractor, We do not do any work in Chicago. It is out of our service area, plus our records show no one with this name, please remove."
I called in a panic around 10 am and was given a 2 hour window of 11-1. The office called to let me know Eric A was on his way and would be at the house in 15 minutes. He was right on time at 11 and was EXCELLENT. He diagnosed the problem, offered me a few alternatives (not many with a frozen pipe) and quoted a price.
It was $80 for the call, and $375 for the work to put in a shut off valve and drain. He also offered a package for $375 that waived the service call, provided a 15% discount, and cleaning for our two furnaces - along with free service calls for the year. He was not and quot;sellingand quot; just letting me know about my options which I really appreciated. If his level of service, and kindness is any indication of the firm, they will be a pleasure to work with.
Eric completed the work in a timely manner, was very clean (covered his shoes in the house), and patiently answered the 10,000 questions I had about plumbing in general
I am now a Raving Fan of Expert Plumbing!!
I must have tried three or four local plumbers with emergency plumbing services (this happened around 8 p.m. on the Sunday after the Thursday flood) and all were booked through the following week!
I reached and quot;Expert Plumbingand quot; and they committed to sending someone right away. I really wasn't in a position to bargain. We literally weren't in a position to wait.
The gentleman showed up, diagnosed the issue right away, and found the replacement part on his truck right away (Tand P valve). He even found the city's water shut-off point outside and was able to shut it down and then confirm this once the city crew member arrived (which was also impressive).
I wasn't thrilled with spending the amount that I did, but I do understand there's a premium to pay for services outside of regular business hours and especially during a time when demand on plumbers was probably at an all-time high.
I felt like the pricing/paperwork was straightforward and honest and the plumber was very courteous and professional. I had asked him for a ballpark of costs when he first arrived, and when he clocked out, the price was consistent with his ballpark. We appreciated the assistance very much.
After waiting three business days and a weekend without receiving an estimate, I called Expert Plumbing and requested they send it to me via email. The next day, my husband received an estimate for the installation of a sump pump and for the recessed lighting, even though I had told the technician that we weren't going to go ahead with the recessed lighting, as per his advice, but did not include the installation of any of the fixtures about which I had inquired.
I immediately called and emailed to get the estimate revised to include only the items we wanted done. Glen French (the manager?) finally responded after some delay, stating that he would only do the work on the original estimate (even though it was incorrect and very overpriced) and that they and quot;don't go to Oak Park for small jobs like light fixturesand quot;
However, they were perfectly willing to cash my $79.95 check I paid them for the estimate. This was my mistake---I should have never hired a contractor that charged a fee for the estimate. In addition, the electrician I ended up hiring was able to put a ceiling fan in with no trouble whatsoever and the mason we hired to fix our flashing and furnace vent pipe said that it absolutely could have been fixed by an HVAC contractor. Plus, the estimate for the sump pump installation was $600 more than the company we ended up going with.
Mr. French and I exchanged several emails where he because increasingly rude and belligerent. I simply asked for a refund of my $79.95 because, in essence, they were refusing to perform the work. I don't believe it is company policy to give an estimate and then force you to either do all the items, or nothing. Be very wary of using this company: they treated me rudely, gave us extremely high estimates and basically, took our money and ran.
I like the way they handles the process and we are still trying to work out the details. They have been pretty accessible. If the process goes through, I will be getting other estimates from them.
