Unfortunately, our experience with Expert Plumbing did not live up to the high reviews. We initially had them out to provide a service with a plumbing issue on July 13, 2022. We were repeatedly told by the technician that he recorded video of the issue with the pipes, his supervisor would review the video, and that we would be provided a copy of the video and receive a follow up phone call from his supervisor to go over the video and discuss the root issue/go over next advised steps. That never happened and the plumbing issue resurfaced on July 24, 2022 (less than two weeks later). We called Expert Plumbing again on the 24th and explained that the issue had returned. At this time, we also asked why we had not received the quoted copy of our video and follow up phone call from a supervisor. We were told that the technicians would be back that same evening to address the issue and that someone would follow up with us regarding the video and phone call that we did not receive from the visit on 7/13. In fact, I spoke with the same person twice that day about this and was reassured both times that someone would get back to us. Long story summarized, the technicians came out on July 24th and, for the first time, informed us that the camera "wasn't working" on July 13th; thus, there was no video. This was baffling because the technician said that the camera was not working on July 13th during the original visit...so, he actually came back the next morning with the camera to do the necessary recording and reiterated that we would get a call from his supervisor after he'd reviewed the video. It is clearly listed on our service agreement that a video was recorded and that we'd get the follow up call from the supervisor. Again, and I cannot stress this enough, at no point did anyone from management follow up with us to make us aware of the crucial detail that we would not be receiving the promised video - or just follow up in general like we were told that a supervisor would do. The company also kept the entirety of the money that we paid. This doesn't exactly seem fair or ethical considering that they did not honor the full quoted service agreement - which included the video and supervisor follow-up....and, again, didn't even bother to reach out to let us know that there would be no video or follow up from the supervisor. During the visit on the 24th the technician, without provocation/us asking, assured us that the service provided on the 24th would be at no charge to us given the circumstances. He ended up completely reneging on this and charged us for the visit (including mention of us being charged for "overtime fees"...even though the technicians did not show up within the quoted timeframe, which was no fault of ours). Again, we were promised a video and follow up call from his supervisor. We actually asked him if we would please get his supervisor on the line right then and there. One of the technicians stepped outside and spoke to the supervisor, who, for whatever reason, refused to speak directly to us as requested. We were told to call the main office and ask to speak to the owner, Becky. It should come as no surprise that we did not receive a video or follow up phone call from a supervisor for the service provided on 7/24. We've left two voice messages for management in addition to the two messages that we left with the person who answered the phone on 7/24 and the communication that the technicians had with the supervisor on 7/24 detailing our concerns. We also followed up with an email. That marks at least five attempts to try to speak to management to no avail. We respect that management is probably very busy and probably also is dealing with many things. However, the amount of energy and follow up needed on our end is a bit ridiculous at this point. Again, after reading all of the positive reviews, I am shocked and disappointed that this has been our experience. Hopefully, we are an unfortunate outlier; however, wanted to provide feedback to my fellow consumers all the same.

We have used Expert for several years and what I like best is the professionalism of the people who actually do the work in our home.  They will call ahead, be on time, are very respectful, and cover their shoes when they enter.  The one time that I didn't understand the price, Glenn (one of the owners) walked me through the though process and I was very satisfied.
Excellent service!
They will push the Phace Club, but for $360 to have the systems serviced twice a year and discounts on the service work it is well worth it.

Office staff and servicemen very helpful and professional.

Required use of 2 service calls.  Water heater serviceman not comfortable doing plumbing.  Plumber came later in the day and replaced sprayer. Price was a little high but was discounted by joining Phace Club (a prepaid service membership).

They were excellent. We used the same plumber for 10 years and recently made the switch as the services performed were exceptional.

We have always been thrilled with the service, personal attention and professionalism. We had a and quot;chronicand quot; issue with the furnace this year, turned out to be a bad internal piece of hardware. The technician came out on more than one occasion to try different fixes so that we wouldn't be sitting in the cold (and they all worked for a time) and, when we hit on a successful stop gap, taught us the simple procedure how to do it so we could have immediate effect rather than waiting for him (win, win in my book! We get immediate heat and save him a trip). I highly recommend Expert.

Excellent experience.
I called in a panic around 10 am and was given a 2 hour window of 11-1. The office called to let me know Eric A was on his way and would be at the house in 15 minutes. He was right on time at 11 and was EXCELLENT. He diagnosed the problem, offered me a few alternatives (not many with a frozen pipe) and quoted a price.
It was $80 for the call, and $375 for the work to put in a shut off valve and drain. He also offered a package for $375 that waived the service call, provided a 15% discount, and cleaning for our two furnaces - along with free service calls for the year. He was not and quot;sellingand quot; just letting me know about my options which I really appreciated. If his level of service, and kindness is any indication of the firm, they will be a pleasure to work with.
Eric completed the work in a timely manner, was very clean (covered his shoes in the house), and patiently answered the 10,000 questions I had about plumbing in general
I am now a Raving Fan of Expert Plumbing!!

Our basement sustained minor flooding during the great downpour on 4/18/13, but that's not why we had to call an emergency plumber. While doing flood mitigation work, my husband knocked against the main water pipe coming in from the ground, causing it to leak. The leak was so low to the ground and so far from a drain, that there was no way we could keep a bucket under the trickling water.
I must have tried three or four local plumbers with emergency plumbing services (this happened around 8 p.m. on the Sunday after the Thursday flood) and all were booked through the following week!
I reached and quot;Expert Plumbingand quot; and they committed to sending someone right away. I really wasn't in a position to bargain. We literally weren't in a position to wait.
The gentleman showed up, diagnosed the issue right away, and found the replacement part on his truck right away (Tand P valve). He even found the city's water shut-off point outside and was able to shut it down and then confirm this once the city crew member arrived (which was also impressive).
I wasn't thrilled with spending the amount that I did, but I do understand there's a premium to pay for services outside of regular business hours and especially during a time when demand on plumbers was probably at an all-time high.
I felt like the pricing/paperwork was straightforward and honest and the plumber was very courteous and professional. I had asked him for a ballpark of costs when he first arrived, and when he clocked out, the price was consistent with his ballpark. We appreciated the assistance very much.

The technician came out and looked at the furnace vent pipe and flashing and immediately said that he would be unable to fix it; he maintained a mason would be needed. He then went on to address our electrical issues, which included putting recessed lighting in our finished attic space and running electricity into our walk-in closet and installing a fixture. I asked him what a ceiling fan would cost to install in the living room and he said it would be nearly impossible. He told us that the recessed lighting would be very expensive and that he wouldn't have it done, because we're thinking about putting dormers in in the future and it wouldn't be worth it. He said that they could do the light in the closet and install a fixture in our dining room and that he would get me an estimate in a couple of days. I also asked him for an estimate on installing a sump pump, because we had accumulated some water in the basement for the first time the night before.

After waiting three business days and a weekend without receiving an estimate, I called Expert Plumbing and requested they send it to me via email. The next day, my husband received an estimate for the installation of a sump pump and for the recessed lighting, even though I had told the technician that we weren't going to go ahead with the recessed lighting, as per his advice, but did not include the installation of any of the fixtures about which I had inquired.

I immediately called and emailed to get the estimate revised to include only the items we wanted done. Glen French (the manager?) finally responded after some delay, stating that he would only do the work on the original estimate (even though it was incorrect and very overpriced) and that they and quot;don't go to Oak Park for small jobs like light fixturesand quot;

However, they were perfectly willing to cash my $79.95 check I paid them for the estimate. This was my mistake---I should have never hired a contractor that charged a fee for the estimate. In addition, the electrician I ended up hiring was able to put a ceiling fan in with no trouble whatsoever and the mason we hired to fix our flashing and furnace vent pipe said that it absolutely could have been fixed by an HVAC contractor. Plus, the estimate for the sump pump installation was $600 more than the company we ended up going with.

Mr. French and I exchanged several emails where he because increasingly rude and belligerent. I simply asked for a refund of my $79.95 because, in essence, they were refusing to perform the work. I don't believe it is company policy to give an estimate and then force you to either do all the items, or nothing. Be very wary of using this company: they treated me rudely, gave us extremely high estimates and basically, took our money and ran.

I like the way they handles the process and we are still trying to work out the details. They have been pretty accessible. If the process goes through, I will be getting other estimates from them.
