I purchased the PM contract plan which covers the cost of furnace maintenance in the fall and A/C maintenance in the spring. The cost of the humidifier was included in the contract.

They covered our floors with tarp before moving in their equipment. They worked room by room removing the vent covers, using their air compressor to blow dust back toward the main heating duct. They welcomed our presence to watch their progress which convinced me they were doing exactly what we'd hired them to do. They kept tack of screws and immediately replaced vent covers as they worked their way around the house. When they reached the whole house cold air vent (a 12 foot run), they discovered significant build-up that required vacuuming before blowing the dust. They vacuumed. Finally, they moved to the furnace duct work where they cut (and later plugged) a less than one inch circle for inserting their "whip". That tool loosened dust covering the inside of the ductwork all along the length of our house. From a second relatively small new opening (also later plugged) their powerful vacuum pulled white clouds of dust.
The drywall, taping, sealing, and sanding project that prompted our desire to clean the ducts was completed in January, but this company insisted we wait for a day when the outside temperature was closer to freezing instead of the sub-zero temps we'd had much of January. These workers understandably wanted slightly warmer temps to avoid snapping their machinery's belts. Also because a door had to be open while the compressor and vacuum hoses snaked into the house, I was glad to wait for what almost felt like a heat wave.
My allergy symptoms have decreased considerably since this service was performed. I'm am pleased and will hire Brian and Sons when it's time to clean the ductwork again.
