Unfortunately, I didn't realize that I would have to go to their store in Mokena to review carpet samples. That was too far my wife and I to travel to see carpet samples.My wife and I decided to look at carpet samples at a local wholesaler in Chicago. Once we found what we were looking for, I emailed the information back to them asking if they could provide a quote for either of the two samples that we decided on. I never heard back. It could have been because we hadn't been in communication since after the initial quote came back, but I was still surprised.
The other downside to the whole experience is that I started getting bombarded with mailings from the provider. For my taste, they were a bit gimmicky, and was OK for the first one, however, I ended up receiving at least four or five mailings from them and that was a little much.

Let me start by apologizing for not responding to your email from Tuesday. We have a pretty thorough follow up system in place and track every call and email that we send and receive. The email was mistakenly deleted because the subject line was “A friendly reminder regarding our scheduled measurement.” We get notification when you open that email and since you had replied to that email with your carpet selections, it was mistaken as just an open notification. Completely OUR fault and we apologize for the error. Steve has contacted our sales rep and is working on getting pricing for that product for you right now. As far as coming to the store to look at samples, we recommend that for all of our clients. Looking at products on our website is more just for getting ideas. We just are not comfortable selling a product that you haven’t been able to touch and feel and see the quality and color in person, as computer screens can make the color look quite different than reality. Since you have seen a product somewhere else, we are completely o.k. with quoting you on that and if you haven’t made a purchase elsewhere already, Steve is more than happy to quote you a price as soon as he gets the info back from our rep. And lastly, I have removed your name from our mailing list, so you should not receive any further mailings from us. I sincerely hope that you will give us another opportunity. We are a family owned and operated business and our reputation is very important to us. We will always do whatever we can to make every client satisfied."

We were a bit overwhelmed by the array of choices in the store but were helped by Julie to narrow our choices to carpeting that would suit our purposes. We were given a great deal of information regarding types of carpet fibers, padding options, etc. Julie arranged for samples of our top choices to be sent to our home so we could view them in the room setting.
In all seriousness, I think we jumped the gun in heading out to the carpet store as we were not at that point in the family room remodel but I was trying to get an "end vision" so I could order furniture and window treatments which take a long time to be delivered. Each time Creative Carpet called to ask if there was anything they could do to assist us with our selection, I felt guilty telling them that we just weren't ready for an installation yet. (For anyone who has done remodeling before you know my pain as each step involves finding another "issue" that you didn't anticipate!) Throughout the process, they were very patient with us.
The man who came to take measurements was very knowledgeable and answered my many questions. Talking with him made me confident in purchasing the carpeting from Creative Carpet. Having learned a bit from a bad installation from another local company, I was pleased with his answers. The installation team was prompt, courteous, and hard working. They hauled away the old carpeting & padding, carefully installed the carpeting, helped replace the furniture, and even vacuumed before they left. This was definitely a good experience and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.
I do wish, however, that Creative Carpet would break down their estimates for their customers. We were only given a complete price including carpeting, padding, installation, etc. Even though I asked outright for a price per yard on the carpeting, it was never answered. That did give me pause to think and I wonder if that would turn other potential customers away.
These guys are great and all about customer service. I would have rated them higher, but we've got a lot of bubbling and buckling, as well as some chipping of our Armstrong laminate in our kitchen, living room, entry and master bedroom, but that isn't their fault.
We chose them because they did an excellent job laying my mom's laminate flooring ten years ago, plus they are family owned. We have 3 large dogs, so carpeting and hard wood weren't really options for us. We picked out a beautiful laminate and they did the rest. Halfway through the project, my husband left an unplugged refrigerator in the middle of the newly done flooring. Too bad, he forgot to empty the icemaker! I got home the following morning from work to find the floor had buckled right in the middle of the first floor! Mark & Gary came to the rescue and pulled up half the first floor and replaced the laminate with our leftover boxes for a VERY reasonable price.
I love not having carpeting in my home anymore, and the floors look beautiful except by the doors. I wish I would have known there would be such a large gap between the floor seams. But I also understand that animals and kids are h****** floors and the damage would be tenfold for hardwood. Love this company, though, but next time, I'm thinking maybe ceramic tile....

I want to let you know that my employees immediately called to alert me of this particular exchange and we have since implemented a change in employee break policy due to what transpired. If you read all of our past Angie's List reviews you will see both employees listed several times as upstanding sales people and mention of their high level of customer service. If you can allow me to be completely transparent as to our policy as of then and how we have used this exchange as a learning experience and lesson in improvement. We have always allowed employees to eat food up front during breaks to answer phones while their coworkers worked with customers. In this particular case, it was the employee's turn who was still eating, to assist the next customer. The gentleman who was speaking to you did not want to step on that persons toes and was trying to politely pass you to her for assistance. What he did not realize is that she was still on break and she did not realize that she should have been involved in your conversation because she thought he was taking care of you. Again, we truly apologize as all of this is at your expense. We have since change break policy that I wrote myself the following day to make sure a customer never has that experience in our store again. Any employee now on break is requested to take break at a space OTHER than their desk so the employees know with zero confusion who is going to help our customers as well as which salesperson's "turn" it is. Further more if an employee IS sitting at their desk due to any particular reason, they are expected to set food away immediately and assist our customers. Please again accept our apologies. I would be very happy to earn your business back if you will have us. I would like to, in addition to our standard Angie's List discounts, would like to extend an additional 10% off your entire order as a more "tangible" apology. Please reference our past reviews as to the type of company we are and you will definitley get a better picture of how we operate! Mark explained the different carpeting by durability and maintenance requirments. He asked if we had any pets and how much time we would actually spend in that room trying to determine if we really needed to buy the most expensive carpeting we went in thinking we would need/want.
Installers arrived on time, very professional & were able to complete the installation within 4 hours! Clean-up was perfect and the carpet looks great. We were very pleased with the color and results. We would recommend this company to anyone interested in any type of new floor covering.
