This was one of the worst experiences with a company that we have ever had! ServPro uses an ozone machine to remove odors from their clients possessions. We advised ServPro (Several several several times) that we didn't want the ozone generator used on our items because we have a son with ashma & that we had previously used a home ozonator before and that it had caused us all breathing difficulties. Against our wishes, Servpro DID use ozone to clean all of our belongings & the smell is horrible. The ozone smell & the smoke smell is a horrible combination. After all the furniture and appliances that they removed from our house to clean & charged us for, only 3 items were salvagable. They did however charge us to clean all of it. They returned our washer/dryer to our residence and even dropped the washer about 3 feet from their truck flat on it's back without any type of concern. They returned out dining table dismantled & without the hardware to put it back together. We called their office about the hardware & over a month later, we never did get the hardware. Didn't end up to matter though because while trying to clean our table, ServPro used a very abrasive cleaner that removed much of the finish off of our table so our insurance company agreed to replace it for us. It was very frustrating to contact our ServPro representative. He hardly returned calls & when he did, he really didn't have any answers for us. I called the corporate office & they tried to put me in contact with the franchise owner, but the owner never would return my calls. In summary, ServPro charged our insurance company over $5000 for salvaging less than $1000 worth of kitchen items & our washer/dryer & child rocking chair. Our insurance company & us would have been better off to put everything in the dumpster. It would have been quicker, easier, cheaper & ALOT less frustrating!
