Our family recognized the demand for a service overhaul in an industry shadowed by skepticism as a result of it being primarily commission/incentive based for its technicians. We are proud to be a service company, not a sales company! It is our commitment to maintain safe use of all chimney types in all of Chicagoland while exceeding your expected level of service. Superior Chimney Services Corporation does offer one free estimate per single-family residential homeowner & occupant, per year. Superior Chimney does not offer anyone free inspections - There is a significant difference between a “free estimate” and an “inspection” - All inspections are fully creditable to the cost of any necessary repairs/restorations. The variance of restoration needs on residential multi-unit dwelling chimneys (condo, apartment, etc.) verses single-family residential home chimneys is significant. This calls for inspection and does not allow us to even give a rough, guesstimated or ballpark range of cost. We simple can’t quote what we can not see. We guarantee the best price with a very strict stipulation…& that is… any competing companies must be in good standing with the Better Business Bureau, members of the National Chimney Sweep Guild, & of course… employ technicians certified by the Chimney Safety Institute of America. Rest assured, Superior Chimney utilizes current industry technology for unsurpassed service while still maintaining the best price to product / service ratio available. Only compare apples to apples. Some companies knowingly deliver low quality at a low price (by means of a “free inspection”). However, in sales calls (free inspections), these companies do not stress the low quality as much as the low price. If you are a bargain hunter who will not take the time to educate yourself about what you are buying, you may well overpay by taking the lowest price (from a free inspection). we have had 3 storms and the leaks continued. Every time we call they blame the leak on the direction of the storm!!! HuH !! In what universe does a storm direction determine where the leak comes from? Have to call again to get them back out. Very dissatisfied!
lLeaks still happening. They keep blaming the winds. The winds weren't making it leak before!!

Two things surprised me. I had never had a chimney swept so I was not sure what to expect. Once the inspection started, they provided me with options for additional services. pictures, pamphlets and discussion. However when said that I might get a second option or do the work my self, they came back with other solutions or even suggested that some of the work was not needed right away. In the end I did some of the work. For a few items, i know that I over paid, but the work was completed and the workmanship looks good. I think overall their approach could have been better to provide me with other services. It just put a bit of skepticism in my mind for the next time. I would consider them for future work, but would manage it a little different the next time.

Prioritization is broken up into two primary categories: 1. Exterior stack element exposure - 2. Fireplace utilization. Even if the fireplace is no longer used, the chimney is still an exterior structure of the home which needs to be protected from the elements in order to prevent structural compromise and/or water intrusion into the adjacent home construction.
