The initial estimate was half the final cost, $7000, which did not included the faucets, fixtures nor the shower door. The order was placed 3/22/13. I was told it would be a couple of weeks before scheduling and the job would be completed in approximately 4 days. It was completed 6/21/13. The tear out began on April 30th. Installation stopped until I paid $650 more, which I did, for additional work. Tiles were install crooked, broken, some cracked, uneven, protruding and very sloppy grouting. (Have photos if requested.) The owner of Central Tile who does the installation for Century Tile came to inspect. He agreed that it needed to be replaced. So, my $7000 tile job was partially torn out and replaced...better but definitely not a $7000 quality job. After he completed the installation, during my first shower I noticed the faucets were leaking. I went down to the garage (this bathroom is over the garage) and the ceiling showed water damage. The installer came back to repair the leak, taking out a large mirror to get to the back of the shower plumbing (mirror was reinstalled but not securely) and said he would repair the garage ceiling. That was never done. The bullnoses around the niches protrude and are not flush to the wall. The tile grout is a very light gray but the sides of the bullnoses are terracotta color, not the color of the tile or the grout.. Two associates from two different Century Tile stores said the tiles is defective. The installer said that they were not fired correctly...then WHY did he use them? The edge are so noticeable...and unattractive. Plaster was very roughly applied around the shower opening and not finished. There was plaster on my cabinets. The tiles that had to be removed from floor were reinstalled and the grout it totally unacceptable. When the installer was finished he asked for another $650. I said I already paid that as the work would not gone on until I paid it. We called that salesperson at Century Tile and she said it was not paid...I disagreed with her but upon her insistence I paid it again. Yes, weeks later she called to tell me that I definitely paid twice. They did refund one payment. The whole ordeal was a nightmare and the finished product is very disappointing. I will never use Century Tile or recommend them to anyone.
